We had a reservation near Hakata Station to have dinner with my colleagues. We arrived around 8:30 pm and sat at a spacious table with a sunken kotatsu-style seating for four, even though there were only three of us. The restaurant seemed to pay attention to the presentation as the appetizers served were very stylish. One popular dish was the whole squid sashimi from Yobuko, beautifully arranged on a long plate. It looked so fresh and translucent. We also ordered a tamagoyaki with okra inside and a rare beef ichibo steak, both of which were delicious. We tried a few other dishes and kept a bottle of shochu. The total bill for three of us came to 13,000 yen, which is a bit on the pricier side, but we were satisfied with the quality of the food. Thank you for the meal.

The atmosphere was nice, the staff were friendly, and the unique dishes were delicious. The assorted sashimi was fresh and seared, which was a nice touch. The sesame mackerel and seared dishes were especially tasty. The deep-fried Itozaki eggplant and raw octopus with green onions were also good. The pickled mustard greens and mackerel hot pot rice had a rich flavor. While the appetizer wasn't necessary, the restaurant is recommended and reservations are a must.

I visited this restaurant based on the good reviews. I had high expectations for the local dishes of Hakata, so I reserved a course meal and every dish was incredibly delicious. The appetizers were all beautifully presented and tasty, the sashimi lineup included delicious tuna and sesame mackerel, the cream cheese and iburi-gakko were tastier than any I've had before, and the foie gras chawanmushi was full of flavor like I've never experienced. The wagyu beef, miso-grilled sazae, isaki with red plum tempura, clay pot rice (no photo), and desserts were all of high quality. I highly recommend these dishes to everyone. I was very satisfied. The atmosphere was lovely. The seafood was delicious, and I was happy to be able to eat Hakata cuisine. The live squid sashimi was amazing. It was also great that they made tempura out of it afterwards. However, it was disappointing that the explanations of the appetizers were insufficient and the staff's efficiency was lacking.

A great restaurant where you can enjoy Hakata specialties. I visited looking forward to the live squid sashimi, and I was very grateful that they asked if there was anything I wanted them to set aside for me when I made the reservation. We went with children, and they prepared a private room for us, so we had a great time.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I had wanted to go for a while, and I finally made it. The sashimi was delicious, and there was a great variety of dishes that were all tasty. The timing of the dishes coming out was also very good, and everything was even more delicious than I had imagined. Thank you for the meal. I would love to go back again.

I found a restaurant where I could eat squid, made a reservation, and it was a good decision to book early because it's popular. The course started with a squid appetizer, followed by a sashimi platter. The foie gras chawanmushi was also delicious. Instead of opting for all-you-can-drink, I ordered drinks individually and enjoyed local sake from Fukuoka. Everything was of high quality and delicious. The only downside was that the appetizer was an additional charge, which I found a bit disappointing (I think it would be more considerate if it were included in the course price). However, everything was delicious and I definitely want to go back to this restaurant. I couldn't finish the final rice dish, so they kindly made it into onigiri for me to take home. Thank you.

The pre-paid appetizers were delicious, and the menu had many unique and enjoyable items. We had only ordered the squid sashimi in advance, but the other dishes were also very appealing. We couldn't finish everything in just one visit, so we definitely want to come back. The Dazaifu Highball was also really tasty.

The food is delicious. The service is often forgettable. The Camembert cheese and foie gras chawanmushi are both intricately made and delicious. The sashimi and Wagyu beef are also delicious. They explain the dishes after serving them, but many of them tend to forget what they are explaining.

I was caught in the melancholic rain of June and headed to Hakata to finish work and errands. As expected, my work was delayed, and after checking into my accommodation, it was almost 10 pm! I headed to "Otoko Chuya," where I managed to make a reservation even as a solo diner. The rain had stopped, a good sign, probably. I was seated at the counter by a cute staff member, and while hydrating with a beer, I ordered the Otoko Chuya Mori (a platter of ten seasonal Hakata dishes). It is served in two plates. The first plate included red snapper, octopus, whale fin, grilled isaki, and grilled nodoguro. I paired this with a premium shochu highball. The second plate had sesame mackerel, bincho, horse mackerel, amberjack, and katsuo, all with thick, fresh cuts and rich aromas unique to each fish. I felt like trying it with sake, so I went with "Yama no Jou." I got carried away and decided to try the live squid sashimi too. They mentioned it was a bit small today, so I also ordered half portions of fried eggplant and camembert. I ended the meal with a local sake from Kita-ya. I had a great time chatting with the couple next to me about "kuwai," but... I might have overdone it. My stomach was full. Thank you for the feast.

I made a reservation on a food review site two weeks ago at this extremely popular restaurant. Unfortunately, they were out of their famous squid sashimi today. I ordered the "Otoko-chou Mori" (men's chef's selection), foie gras chawanmushi, fried eggplant in broth, and seared mackerel and pickled mustard greens rice in a clay pot. The appetizers included sweet sake, smoked bonito, kanamono sprouts, pumpkin salad, white grape jelly, okra sashimi, and octopus with plum dressing. The "Otoko-chou Mori" included red snapper, octopus, sandfish, blackthroat seaperch, whale tail, sesame mackerel, amberjack, tuna, bonito, and horse mackerel sashimi. The freshness of the sashimi was outstanding and incredibly delicious, especially the sesame mackerel, amberjack, and sandfish. The foie gras chawanmushi was addictive, and the fried eggplant in broth was tasty, but the seared mackerel and pickled mustard greens rice was exceptionally delicious. The flavors were great, and the portion was generous, so I left completely satisfied. The sake was also delicious, and I had a wonderful time in a fantastic atmosphere. This is a must-visit restaurant that I would definitely take my friends to when they visit. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a popular restaurant in Hakata! Luckily, I was able to make a reservation and when I arrived, they had a private room ready for me! Thank you very much. It started with an appetizer platter of 8 different dishes, followed by the unique Hakata-style squid with sesame mackerel! They were all so delicious! Especially the squid, it paired perfectly with Japanese sake and I couldn't stop eating it. Then, they served tempura which was very tender and melted in my mouth. The mackerel potato salad was also a new experience for me and I couldn't stop eating it either. Before I knew it, it was time to leave. I was very satisfied! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

We ordered several dishes and couldn't resist taking photos... The potato salad with mentaiko. The potato salad here is simple and not too mayonnaise-heavy. It's delicious! And one of the signature dishes here is the clay pot rice. If you order it at the beginning, they bring it out perfectly for the end. This time, it was chicken and burdock clay pot rice. The nice aroma of burdock fills the air when you open the lid. Comes with miso soup!

Visited a restaurant with a friend from Tokyo. Made a reservation in advance at a place I had been curious about for a while. It was about a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station. The restaurant had tables separated by curtains and a counter, and it wasn't very spacious. I was planning to order a la carte, but they also offered courses on the day of our visit, so we chose a course with all-you-can-drink option. The staff explained the dishes to us in detail and the service was excellent. The taste of the food was perfect, especially the truffle chawanmushi was outstanding. They had a great selection of drinks as well. I found a fantastic restaurant and would love to visit again.

It's recommended to make a reservation early as it's hard to get a booking. The sashimi, meat dishes, and fried foods are all delicious. It has a high-class izakaya feel. The foie gras chawanmushi was especially tasty! Also, the sautéed anchovy cabbage dish (forgot the name) was delicious. The menu changes slightly depending on the season, which keeps things interesting. The dishes are served in portions for the number of people, so it's best to order little by little to avoid overcrowding the table.

I visited a popular restaurant in Fukuoka for dinner during my solo trip to Kyushu. I made a reservation in advance through Tabelog. The menu I tried included: - Appetizer platter - Assorted sashimi - Cream cheese with Iburi Gakko (smoked pickles) - Grilled pork belly from Itoshima - Menchi Katsu (minced meat cutlet) What I liked: - The two meat dishes were particularly delicious. - The waiter informed me that there were half-size portions available for solo diners without me having to ask. Areas for improvement: - The service was lacking, with multiple mistakes in taking orders and delays in confirming them. - The appetizer platter was underwhelming and overpriced at 650 yen. It would be better to offer 2-3 items for around 300 yen. - Overall, while the food was tasty, the service and value for money were disappointing compared to other options in Fukuoka. In conclusion, this restaurant was not my top choice in Fukuoka's vibrant dining scene. Thank you for the meal.

As someone who recommends fresh fish, the assorted sashimi and whole squid were very delicious. The side dishes were also elaborate and enjoyable, making it a place where you can have a good time no matter how many times you visit. I made a reservation to enjoy delicious squid, and I was not disappointed! The squid was sweet and full of flavor, taking me to a state of bliss with every bite. Every dish was incredibly delicious, unlike anything I've ever tasted before. It was absolutely amazing. The chef and staff were all very friendly, making my trip to Hakata truly wonderful. From Hakata Station, I called to check for availability, and after a little hesitation, I arrived in a few minutes and visited the restaurant for the first time around 9 pm. I asked the staff for recommendations and ordered a few recommended dishes. The staff were considerate, asking about allergies and such at the beginning. Each dish that was brought out was explained by the staff. They were all delicious, and although the alcohol wasn't strong, it paired well with the food. For those who enjoy drinking, the "sake thief" (shutou) and yam dishes are highly recommended. I couldn't try the clay pot rice this time because I was already full, but I definitely want to try it next time. It's a wonderful restaurant that makes you want to visit again and again.
