I was thinking about what to have for lunch. I decided to get a takeout of the Hirekatsu Don for 540 yen. Sometimes I crave katsudon, so I decided to have it at home. The dish had both hirekatsu and rosu, but I prefer hirekatsu. The rice portion was generous, with some onions, egg, and green onions. There were two pieces of hirekatsu, but the batter was quite thick and soaked up a lot of broth, so I felt it was unnecessary. The hirekatsu was a bit small and soft. Overall, I found the batter to be too thick, so I may not order the donburi again. I might consider trying a katsusando instead. Later in the day, I saw the same hirekatsu donburi on sale for 400 yen. Even with the discount, I still think I prefer other options over the donburi.
