I wandered around Sangenjaya looking for a place to have dinner by myself. I couldn't find anything that caught my eye until I strayed a little off my usual path and stumbled upon this place. Originally, I planned to have a few drinks but ended up switching to food. The menu was limited to just teppanyaki grilled meat. They also had a few appetizers since they served alcohol. The only dilemma was deciding on the portion size. Somehow, my plan for a light meal turned into ordering "1.5 servings of grilled meat and extra rice." I read the explanation on the counter and realized that this was a popular dish from Hakata that I had seen on TV recently. It was grilled meat and cabbage on a hot plate, with wooden pieces underneath to tilt it and collect the juices. You could add spicy miso for extra flavor. I had seen this dish on a show about Hakata and thought it looked delicious. I never expected to encounter it in Sangenjaya. The portion size was just right for me. For reference, when I eat at "Negishi," I usually have two extra-large servings of rice, so I prefer a bit more. In this case, I felt like a little more rice would have been nice. As for the side dishes, they initially seemed salty. They complemented the rice well, but on their own, they were a bit too salty for my taste. I have to be careful with my salt intake due to my age, so I can't come here too often. The meat was a good size, not too big, just right for eating with rice. I was concerned it might be tough or chewy, but it had a nice texture, not too tough, just right. I initially ate it without adding the spicy miso, and it was delicious with a hint of garlic. I tried adding the miso towards the end, and it was also good. If I were to describe the restaurant, I would say it's "good, good." The key in this type of restaurant is the rice. Some places have rice with a strange smell, unevenly cooked, too hard, or too mushy. However, the rice here was decent. It wasn't exceptionally tasty, but it didn't distract from the side dishes and was easy to eat. I wished they had cooked it a little better. Despite being an oily teppanyaki meat restaurant, the interior was clean and had a sense of cleanliness. The staff were also friendly. I was pleased when they asked, "Do you mind having pickles with your rice?" because I actually don't like pickles. It's a hassle to avoid them, but I managed to do so. Just a simple question like that made me happy. The small restaurant was quite lively, with many regular customers. It's a place for those who want a hearty meal, and I will probably come back again.
