Located about a 5-minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station on the JR Yamanote Line, "Nanmangogi" is a Korean restaurant where you can try the trending Water Aging (low-temperature aging) Samgyupsal. Be sure to take a photo at the entrance of the restaurant! I ordered the thick-cut Samgyupsal, Senmai sashimi, Japchae, and Komtang. The Komtang was delicious, but I was surprised by the amount of glass noodles in it! The main dish, Samgyupsal, was incredibly juicy and tasty. It's crispy on the outside but so juicy inside, thanks to the Water Aging process. You can eat it up in no time! It's a shame they don't offer fried rice as a finale, but oh well! The bottled beer selection is pretty good too!

When you want to eat delicious meat in Shin-Okubo, this is the place to go. My personal top recommendation is the zabuton sushi. Once it's lightly seared in front of you, it goes straight into your mouth! The melting sweetness and aroma of the meat will make you smile. The thick-cut samgyupsal is served in a lump, but the staff will cook it and cut it into bite-sized pieces for you, so even beginners can relax. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed eating it with salt and wasabi, as it was my first time trying that combination. The thin noodles of the water-cooled noodles are also delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

■ September 2023 Visit New Okubo is currently very lively! With so many shops to choose from, it's important to carefully select where to eat. Should you go for a well-established place or try something new? This time, we decided to visit a restaurant recommended by a trusted YouTuber that serves water-aged beef, a concept that was new to us. Unlike traditional aging methods, water aging supposedly puts less stress on the meat. As we entered, we were greeted by a futuristic, almost clone-like visual aesthetic. The restaurant had spacious, stylish table seating. While the Samgyupsal (pork belly) requires a minimum order of two servings, you can mix and match the types of meat for each serving. We opted for thick-cut Samgyupsal and pork ribs. The charcoal grill was a unique touch compared to the typical gas grills, and the aroma of charcoal promised to enhance the flavor of the meat. The thick-cut meat looked incredibly juicy. The side dishes included pickles, pickled radish, perilla leaves, and spicy miso – a selection unique to Korean restaurants. While the absence of green onions was a bit disappointing, the onion slices soaked in the dipping sauce made up for it. Additionally, there was pink salt and wasabi, which you don't often find in Korean eateries. It was clear that this place offered something different from the rest! We dove into the thick-cut meat. Despite its small size, the thickness made it easy to chew. Soft and tender! The pork ribs were well-seasoned and equally tender. They were delicious on their own. The combination of wasabi and salt complemented the meat perfectly. The green onion pancake was a standout – simple yet delicious, with an abundance of green onions. It was crispy on the outside and a delight for green onion lovers. The fresh liver had no unpleasant odor and was possibly the best in Tokyo. Lightly seared and enjoyed with sesame oil. If you're looking for a satisfying meal without exploring new places in New Okubo, this restaurant is a solid choice for meat lovers. It was a truly delightful evening. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The restaurant is clean and they serve Samgyupsal where the staff cook the meat for you. When we sat down, a large amount of dishes were brought out which was surprising. The sauce for the raw liver sashimi was delicious. The Samgyupsal is usually long and thin, but here it was thick. The staff cooked it perfectly so it was tender and cooked through. The sauces included one with onions and another with miso, as well as salt. I personally found that eating the meat with just salt was tastier than wrapping it in lettuce. I also tried the pork shoulder which was tender and had a good amount, filling up my stomach.

I entered a restaurant where meat is aged in water. There was a tank at the entrance with meat inside, which was surprising. When I sat down, there were already side dishes like lettuce and kimchi on the table. I assumed it was for the samgyupsal. There was a lunch course for 3400 yen which included a choice of two meats and one side dish for two people. We ordered samgyupsal, shoulder loin, and sundubu as the side dish, with an extra order of rice. The staff cooked the meat for us, checking on it frequently. The meat was delicious and satisfying to eat. It was hard to tell if it was water-aged based on the taste. The sundubu was large in size and filled us up. Kimchi was free for refills, but the soju was charged extra. Some of the staff members had a disappointing attitude.

A friend recommended a restaurant where you can eat low-temperature aged samgyupsal. The meat here is not greasy and has a delicious flavor! The lunch set, which includes a choice of two types of meat and a side dish, feels like a great deal. I tried Korean cold noodles for the first time and they were incredibly delicious!! I will definitely bring my friends here again.

I often go to eat Korean food, and the Samgyupsal here is really delicious! The staff finishes it for you so you can relax, and the ventilation is excellent so your clothes don't smell. The seats are also spacious.

I was curious about the aged meat soaking in front of the store, so I decided to go in! I couldn't tell which meat was aged because there was no explanation, but everything was delicious haha. The thousand-layered sashimi was fresh and tasty too! There were more Korean customers and visitors than Japanese ones. The interior of the store was spacious and new, so it had a clean feeling which was nice. It's a bit far from Okubo Station and also a bit far from Don Quijote, but I've always been interested in Korean restaurants on this street.

The Samgyupsal here is thickly sliced, unlike the thin cuts you might find elsewhere. When grilled, the fat drips off nicely, making it refreshing to eat. The Maruchou we ordered was also thickly cut, but the fat was well rendered, making it easy to eat. It's a shame that refills for the lettuce wraps are charged extra. However, refills for other side dishes are free!

Water aging?! At the store, the meat is vacuum-packed and placed in a water tank. I thought it was a decoration, but it seems to be a specialty of the shop. I forgot what I ordered, but the meat was very delicious. And this beer was refreshing and very tasty. I definitely want to go back again.

--------꙳◌Ordered Items◌꙳-------- Visited with 2 people on a weekday! Ordered 2 drinks and spent around 5000 yen. - Thick-cut Samgyeopsal 1,580 yen - Shoulder loin 1,480 yen - Zabuton sushi (2 pieces) 880 yen - Super fresh liver 1,480 yen - Namul assortment 880 yen - Yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) 1,280 yen - Negi Chijimi (green onion pancake) 1,280 yen ---------꙳◌Overview of the Restaurant◌꙳--------- A yakiniku restaurant that opened last year in Shin-Okubo. Known as Japan's first water aging matured meat specialty store, we were curious and decided to visit! The most shocking thing upon entering was the meat maturing at low temperature... "What is this!?" Meat swimming in a tank, haha. The interior of the restaurant is quite clean, with well-spaced seats creating a relaxed atmosphere. Suitable for dates, girls' nights out, or any occasion when you want to have a good time. Perfect for those who want to have fun but don't like noisy places! ❤️ ---------꙳◌Impressions of the Food◌꙳--------- - Thick-cut Samgyeopsal: This restaurant is popular for its charcoal-grilled Samgyeopsal! If in doubt, try this dish!! There are many Samgyeopsal restaurants in Shin-Okubo, but this is the only one with charcoal grilling...?? The staff will cook everything for you, so you can relax. The meat, aged at low temperature at the entrance, was very juicy and delicious when grilled over charcoal. - Zabuton sushi: They sear the beautifully marbled meat in front of you, adding an entertaining element. Don't forget your camera - take a bite and be amazed. The oil melts in your mouth, making you want to eat three more, haha. - Negi Chijimi: The chijimi is slightly thick and chewy, providing a satisfying texture that is irresistible. I thought the portion was large, but it was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating, haha. -------꙳◌Additional Information◌꙳------- I share recommendations for restaurants suitable for "girls' night out" or "dates" from the perspective of an office worker who dines out 200 times a year.◌ ◆SNS Instagram ID: per0rine Feel free to check it out - likes, saves, and comments are appreciated! ♡

This restaurant is popular for its thick-cut Samgyupsal cooked over charcoal! Although there are many Samgyupsal restaurants in Shin-Okubo, charcoal grilling is quite rare! The staff brings the charcoal and adjusts it for you, so you can relax and enjoy. The meat is aged at low temperatures, and grilling it over charcoal makes it incredibly delicious. The staff grills everything for you, so you can feel at ease. The thick-cut Samgyupsal is juicy with lots of fat, while the pork shoulder is lean and light. You can order different types for each person in a set for two, which is great. The seafood pancake is thick and chewy, and also very tasty!

The restaurant serves thick-cut pork belly samgyupsal. When you enter the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the meat soaking in a tank. I wonder if they are keeping the temperature constant by soaking it in water. I'm not sure, but the meat here is automatically cooked by different staff members taking turns. It's a bit sad to see the thick meat being chopped into small pieces without being able to touch it yourself. They seem to cook it until it's crispy. You wrap it in lettuce and eat it, but it tastes pretty average. I feel like it might be overcooked. Thank you for the meal.

I had samgyeopsal for lunch. The meat was very delicious! The wasabi was surprising, but it was refreshing and went well with the meat! It's a bit of a walk from the station, but I want to come back again because I'm curious about the other menu items.

I wanted to eat Korean food so I went to the Shin-Okubo area. What is water aging? I noticed the water tank in front of the store and decided to go in. The samgyupsal is delicious. The staff cook it for you. I come here often and they always check the cooking to make sure it's just right. I also ordered beef loin, but the samgyupsal is the best.

Avoided the crowds by entering shortly after the 11 am weekday opening. The restaurant was about 70% full. By the time I left, there were people waiting. Ordered Samgyupsal, which costs around 1,700 yen per serving. The cost performance is not great, but the taste is not bad.

I visited a Korean barbecue restaurant for the first time. The unique thing about this place, which I'm not sure if it's the same in other restaurants, is that the staff cook the meat for you. You can't eat it until they say "it's ready." A young and cute female staff member goes around the restaurant, flipping the grills quickly and then moving on. So, while you can request how you want your meat cooked to the staff who bring you the plates, it ends up being well-done. This was my only complaint (as I prefer rare meat). Surprisingly, despite being a barbecue restaurant, there was no smoke thanks to the smoke exhaust system, and most of the customers were women. The meat was all incredibly delicious (I almost forgot to take photos), and I was very satisfied. I was particularly amazed by the presentation of the marinated beef in a connected chain. It was incredibly delicious. It was funny to see the male staff member in charge of checking the doneness of the skirt steak looking very serious. I wish they had allowed me to eat it a bit rarer... It was a lot of fun. Thank you for the meal!

We arrived just before the restaurant opened and were seated right away. We ordered thick-cut samgyeopsal and pork kalbi for four people. There were plenty of vegetables, and what stood out was that they provided salt for seasoning, emphasizing the focus on flavor. The green onion pancake was also incredibly delicious ✨ I could eat endless amounts of it. I would love to visit again.

A restaurant near Shin-Okubo Station where you can enjoy low-temperature aged meat. The meat immersed in the water tank at the entrance catches your eye. The interior of the restaurant is clean and the seats are spacious, making it a great place for a date. They carefully cook and cut the meat for you. The meat is very thick and looks fatty, but it is surprisingly light and delicious. The side dishes, Chapchae and Negi Chijimi, were also very good. If you want to eat Samgyupsal in Shin-Okubo, this is the place to go! Highly recommended restaurant.
