Had a New Year's party at Shapon Chicken in Nishinakasu Matsumoto. A regular customer at Matsumoto had requested the chef to prepare a full course meal featuring the "phantom chicken" Shapon Chicken. We enjoyed dishes such as shoulder meat (Kagoshima purebred chicken), chicken tenderloin, gizzard, thigh meat, skin, liver, heart, chicken wing with leeks, chicken mince skewers, sesame tofu, golden chicken soup, Shapon Chicken breast meat & Tanba black chicken prosciutto, Satsuma red chicken stewed in soy sauce, raw shiitake mushrooms, red eggplant with Pecorino cheese, zucchini, grilled Shapon Chicken thigh, liver mousse in a pastry shell, and more. The flavors exceeded our imaginations, especially the liver and thigh meat. The perfectly cooked rare liver melted in the mouth, while the juicy thigh meat was bursting with flavor. The bill came to around ¥10,000 per person after adding extras like the clay pot rice and desserts. Considering the generous use of rare Shapon Chicken in the dishes, the price was quite reasonable. The regular omakase course ranges from ¥4800, making it a great choice for various budgets and occasions. The ambiance of the restaurant is also nice, making it a great spot for a date. I was completely satisfied with Matsumoto in Nishinakasu, just like I was with the one in Akasaka. I am now a big fan of Matsumoto. Thank you for the feast! ☺️

I have been to the popular yakitori restaurant "Yakitori Matsumoto Nishinakasu" in Nishinakasu for a few meetings, but this is my first review! We ordered a course without the rice dish at the end, and as always, the yakitori and sashimi were delicious~♪ This is a reliable restaurant, so be sure to visit! Thank you for the meal! (^人^)

I tried this place for the first time this time. The restaurant is located in Nishi Nakasu. I ordered a course meal. I was looking at Tabelog and saw that a Yakitori restaurant called Yakitori West Hyakumeiten had opened, and it was within walking distance from my home in Fukuoka, so I made a reservation and went. The restaurant seems to have been featured in Michelin's Bib Gourmand before, so I had high expectations. We visited at 7:00 pm with a reservation for three people. We were seated at a table. The restaurant was full and as soon as a table became available, another reservation arrived. It's a popular place. We started with a toast with draft beer. From the second drink onwards, I had lemon sour and sake. The menu is only available in course meals. We ordered the Matsuba course for 5,800 yen including tax. The course included: - Small dish (Simmered chicken and vegetables) - Today's selected chicken sashimi (Kano Jidori chicken) - Chicken golden soup - Braised chicken - 8 skewers of Yakitori (shoulder meat, thigh meat, gizzard, heart, tail, liver, quail, local chicken thigh, breast meat, wrapped green onion) - 2 vegetable skewers (brown mushrooms, eggplant) - Oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) The selected chicken sashimi was delicious. The golden soup and the sweet and savory braised chicken were also good. The Yakitori was juicy and satisfying to eat. For the final dish, we chose between Oyakodon and Tan Tan Men and went with Oyakodon. The small bowl was just the right amount, and we enjoyed the course until the end. There were many elderly customers, and I felt like it was a mature Yakitori restaurant. The staff's service was polite, and the head chef was kind. I would like to visit again. I revisited because it was delicious last time. This time, I ordered a course without oyakodon. The yakitori was very delicious, just like last time. However, it took a bit long for the food to be served. The atmosphere was a little intense haha. I think it's better to eat in a good atmosphere after all. ☺️

I called just in time and got a seat, so I went to the restaurant. As expected, the chicken in Hakata is delicious. The menu is great, all the specialties are delicious - the minced meat, seasoned egg, and skin. Unfortunately, I was too full to finish the ramen, but it was delicious. Nishi Nakasu is great!

This is a restaurant located in Nishinakasu, Hakata, with 100 famous yakitori shops. I was invited by a friend to visit because they had received a rare shipment of Shapon chicken. It's my first time trying Shapon chicken, so I'm excited! We left the dishes up to the chef this time. In the first half, we thoroughly enjoyed the Shapon chicken from sashimi to grilled. The cooking was excellent, and the taste was rich but not heavy, with crispy skin yet juicy. It was incredibly delicious! It was so good that we couldn't stop ordering more, so we also had a variety of other grilled dishes after the Shapon chicken! And for the finale, we had oyakodon! This was also delicious. I should have asked for a large portion. I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal! ⭐

It was delicious. The chicken was fresh and cooked rare, which was surprising but tasty. The final dish, oyakodon, was also delicious. It seems to be a popular spot for regular customers. The restaurant has about 8 counter seats and one table for 4 people, so it's better to make a reservation in advance!

I made a reservation for 7:00 PM on a regular day and walked to a restaurant in Nishi Nakasu for the first time. Although the name on the sign was different from the actual name of the restaurant, I hesitated for a moment but eventually entered. The cozy space had a counter and only one table. The atmosphere inside was pleasant, with the friendly and natural service of a handsome guy (apparently, the same restaurant name will soon open in Azabu Juban and he will be returning to Tokyo). There were two course options, so I ordered the course that included a mini oyakodon and a bottle of recommended crisp white wine by the handsome guy. The course started with a cold and delicious corn soup followed by a golden chicken soup. The yakitori had a similar taste to what you would find in Tokyo, with a focus on Kagoshima local chicken. Everything was delicious and paired well with the white wine. In particular, the hatsumoto, maruhatsu, seseri, chicken sashimi, and eggplant were memorable. The last two skewers were a bit too much in terms of both quantity and saltiness. When the wine was finished, I ordered a shochu called Eiko for the finish, along with the mini oyakodon. It was delicious. The dessert pudding was also very tasty.

I've always wanted to go there but never had the chance. People in Fukuoka love yakitori, so they often eat it, and I love it too. I ordered the Matsuno course. The first skewer was incredibly delicious, with the chicken being so tender. The seasoning was just right. Everything was really delicious, and I wondered why I hadn't come to this restaurant sooner. Even the last pudding was delicious.

I also ordered liver and sand lance sashimi! The dishes included: 1. Seasonal appetizer with taro paste and edamame inside. 2. Liver, sand lance sashimi, and today's selected chicken sashimi with two types of sauce. The chicken meat was tender and flavorful, the liver and sand lance had a nice texture. 3. Golden soup with a rich broth. 4. Soft and delicious chicken tenderloin. 5. Firm and flavorful harami. 6. Grilled heart meat with a delicious sauce. 7. Grilled red eggplant from Kumamoto. 8. Crispy zucchini. 9. Tasty quail, although slightly cold. 10. Delicious silver snapper with a addictive texture. 11. Half-cooked chicken breast with a soft texture. 12. Braised chicken thigh meat that was tender and flavorful. 13. Pickled radish. 14. Delicious chicken gizzard with the perfect texture and saltiness. 15. Grilled chicken skin with a flavorful marinade. 16. Oyakodon with a tasty broth. 17. Excellent pudding. I decided to have dinner on Thursday and called at the last minute, and luckily they had a table available. I walked from Gion and arrived before 8 pm. The restaurant had one table and eight counter seats, with only two counter seats at the back empty. I sat at the back of the L-shaped counter surrounding the kitchen and started with a Suntory Master's Dream (700 yen). I chose the Bamboo course (5,800 yen) for food. Inside the restaurant, there were four male office workers at a table, a couple in their 40s, and four men and women at the counter. There were four men in the kitchen. [Food] - Edamame mousse - Chicken golden soup - Deer chicken sashimi - Daikon radish pickles - Deer chicken shoulder meat - Seseri (chicken neck) - Grilled deer chicken thigh - Zucchini - Kumamoto red eggplant - Braised chicken thigh meat - Liver - Grilled heart with tare sauce - Quail - Grilled liver with tare sauce - Grilled tsukune (chicken meatballs) - Chicken thigh - Pudding [Drinks] - Suntory Master's Dream (700 yen) x2 - Tenpu (Kagoshima) All the dishes were delicious! Except for the grilled items with sauce, everything was seasoned with salt just right. The charcoal fire was also at a good level, and the chicken itself, especially the local chicken, was wonderfully tasty on skewers. The deer chicken sashimi was full of sweetness. The deer chicken shoulder meat was juicy and delicious. The liver had a good texture, and the tare sauce was not too sweet or too strong, just right. I had the Tenpu from Kagoshima as my drink, which was sweet and excellent. One downside was that smoking was allowed. Cigarette smoke does not go well with food. The manager kindly saw me off outside and even gave me his business card before I left. Thank you for the meal.

I made a last-minute reservation and visited the restaurant with a friend. Oh my goodness, it was so delicious! The grilled dishes were amazing. I want to make a reservation again and visit at my leisure. Thank you for accommodating our sudden reservation. I will definitely come back.

I finally got to enjoy the full course of the legendary chicken "Kagoshima Shappon chicken"! What is Shappon? I'll explain at the end. *If you're lucky, you can find Shappon on the regular menu. *Regular customers can request it. I went with a gourmet friend I met on Instagram and another friend who is a foodie. It's a small restaurant with 8 counter seats and 1 table seat (for 4 people). The grill is at the center of the counter, so you can see the grilling process up close. The chef, Mr. Tominaga, grills the food perfectly and it's delicious ✨ The staff are all very friendly and it's one of my favorite places (*'▽'*). I was impressed by the food, the alcohol, and the service! The yakitori in the course menu was delicious, every skewer was great, and the chosen Japanese sake paired well. The finale of tantanmen and oyakodon were also exquisite. By the way, we added liver and gizzard sashimi to the Mats course. It's definitely worth more than the price. I will definitely visit again.

The soul of yakitori in Nishi Nakasu that I don't want to tell you about♪ I was able to eat the rare Kagoshima Shappon chicken (*´▽`*), which would cost twice as much in Tokyo. If you're interested, please inquire as it's usually not available. The shop is small with 8 counter seats and 1 table seat (for 4 people), where you can eat freshly grilled yakitori over the counter♪ There is a grill in the center of the counter, so you can see the grilling process at eye level♪ The shop owner, Mr. Tominaga, grills perfectly and it's delicious✨ The staff are all friendly and the dishes are all delicious, making it my favorite(*'▽'*). If you're looking for yakitori near Fukuoka Nakasu, this is the place to go✨ The dishes I had were as follows: Beer, 3 sesame tofu, crispy stuffed bell peppers (※secret menu), Kagoshima Shappon chicken breast sashimi, golden soup, Nagasaki Tushima chicken gizzard, Nagasaki Tushima chicken liver, Aomori duck breast (large portion, medium rare, meaty and delicious), furisode shoulder meat, seseri, quail, Kagoshima Shappon chicken breast aged for 1.5 days, chicken thigh stew, vegetable plate with tsumoto sauce, bonjiri, Kagoshima Shappon chicken breast grilled, shiitake mushroom grilled, zucchini grilled (especially delicious), rare chicken breast meat, plum and wasabi on chicken tenderloin (nori roll available), soul chicken rice cooked in a pot (secret menu), and 13 small kashiwa rice balls (souvenir). A small restaurant located in Nishi Nakasu, Fukuoka. This is my third visit. They have 8 counter seats and 1 table (for 4 people), where you can enjoy freshly grilled dishes right in front of you. The grill is at the center of the counter, so you can watch the food being cooked. The owner, Mr. Tominaga, grills everything perfectly and it tastes delicious. The staff are all friendly and the food is all delicious. This is my favorite place in the Fukuoka Nakasu area for yakitori. We had the following dishes: Beer, Sesame Tofu (appetizer), Juicy Shoulder Meat, Moist Aged Chicken Breast, Grilled Yamagata Chicken Thigh (rare and special), Grilled Yamagata Chicken Breast (rare and special), Grilled Yamagata Chicken Tail (crispy and sweet), Quail (tasty!), Hatsumoto (tender and delicious), Chiba Peanuts Tsukune, and Grilled Yamagata Chicken Gizzards (juicy and flavorful).
