I wanted to drink coffee since it's a coffee shop, but I wasn't in the mood for it before my meal, so I ordered a fruit milk mix with ice on top. It cost 620 yen. It was delicious for the price, but it was a bit too sweet because of the ice topping.

Today's lunch was at Coffee Shop Ookayama. I ordered the lunch set with Napolitan pasta, which came with salad and a drink. The salad could have been a bit larger, but the Napolitan pasta was delicious, with a rich flavor. They also provided powdered cheese and Tabasco sauce. As expected, the coffee was aromatic and delicious. I will definitely visit again.

The dressing on the salad was delicious. The toast was thickly sliced and chewy inside, very tasty. I had a hot coffee as my drink, which had a nice aroma. I was tempted by the Neapolitan pasta, but since it was morning, I resisted. I will definitely visit again.

On this particular day, I had some errands to run in the Oimachi area. For lunch, I decided to get takeout from this cafe located in the Kitaguchi shopping street. It is a full-service chain operated by Sea United Co., Ltd., which also operates Cafe Veloce among others. Whenever I pass by this place, I always notice samples of sandwiches and spaghetti displayed outside for takeout. On this day, there were about four different samples available, along with options like curry rice, hashed beef rice, and pork cutlet curry for takeout as well. I purchased a mixed sandwich for 518 yen and spaghetti Napolitan for 788 yen. Although I was interested in trying the curry dishes, I was short on time that day. I ate the food at my destination just a few minutes away. The mixed sandwich, made with toasted mountain bread, contained ham, egg salad, tomato, and lettuce. It was a very basic combination, but the egg salad was quite runny and stood out. The Napolitan spaghetti had soft noodles, typical of a cafe, with bacon, green peppers, and shimeji mushrooms as toppings. The ketchup was not too sweet, which was nice, but I felt that the price of almost 800 yen was a bit high. Although I appreciated being able to get takeout due to my time constraints, I believe it would have been better to dine in and enjoy the freshly made dishes with a bitter charcoal-roasted iced coffee.

While strolling around Ookayama Station, I stumbled upon a nostalgic coffee shop called "Coffee Kan" and decided to visit. The traditional atmosphere of such coffee shops is becoming rare these days, so I was glad to find a seat smoothly on a Sunday afternoon at 1 pm. As a fan of hotcakes (pancakes), I didn't hesitate to choose the "Traditional Hotcakes (2 pieces)" (500 yen, excluding tax) touted as the original traditional menu of Coffee Kan. For my drink, I opted for the "Charcoal Ice Coffee" (480 yen, excluding tax) with a set discount of 100 yen (excluding tax). The hotcakes took about 10 minutes to be served, but as advertised on a sign in the shop, they were cooked on a copper plate to a thickness of 12mm, resulting in a uniformly cooked delicacy. The hotcakes were thick, crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside, and served with butter and whipped cream. The only downside was that I wished the butter was the square-shaped one shown in the menu photo. I spread the butter, poured maple syrup, and topped it with whipped cream, enjoying the delicious texture. It's rare to find such straightforward and satisfying hotcakes these days. The volume was also impressive, and I left feeling very satisfied. I also chose the Charcoal Ice Coffee, which came with a coffee refill service where the second cup is half-price. I ordered the "Ethiopian Geisha Beans" (630 yen reduced to 315 yen, excluding tax) to savor the fruity aroma while still lingering in the enjoyment of the hotcakes. Although I don't often have the chance to visit Ookayama Station, I'm sure I will come back to taste the traditional hotcakes whenever I do visit. Thank you for the delicious meal.

After visiting the Jiyugaoka Clinic Beauty Terrace, I felt like eating the pancakes here on the way back, so I visited. I ordered two pancakes. Since they are hand-made, it takes some time to be served, but the aroma while they are being cooked is so delightful. The pancakes, generously topped with maple syrup, provide a truly blissful taste experience once you take a bite. It was definitely worth the detour.

It's a warm winter. The train is so warm due to the heating that it's almost hot inside. My throat feels dry. I came to "Coffee Shop Ookayama" and sat in the non-smoking section, ordering an iced coffee for 528 yen. It was served quickly. I added syrup and milk and enjoyed it. Ah, delicious. Iced coffee in the middle of winter is nice too. The shop is quite crowded with many regular customers. They also have sports newspapers available, making it a good place for coffee shop lovers. I couldn't remember what I ordered, but I thought there was vanilla ice cream on top. It turned out to be butter instead! The pancakes were delicious, moist, and not dry. This is the true Traditional Hotcakes. They are simply delicious pancakes, so don't worry. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting Nagahama Number One, I stopped by for a snack and had an ice coffee, which unfortunately only came in a dark roast. Surprisingly, it was easy to drink. The highlight was the hotcakes. Personally, I prefer a hard surface with a fluffy interior, and these hotcakes were exactly that. The slightly higher rating may be subjective, as preferences vary. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I wanted to take a little break near the station. I was able to relax in a calm atmosphere. The front area was non-smoking and the back area was smoking. I sat in the non-smoking area, but for those who are sensitive to cigarette smoke, it may be tough. However, if you don't mind, it was very relaxing and comfortable. The Vienna coffee ice was very delicious. It is definitely a cafe I would like to visit again.

Today, after taking care of my monthly errands in Ookayama, I came to a nearby coffee shop for lunch. This coffee shop is a franchise, and some locations do not offer lunch sets. The Ookayama branch also did not have lunch sets, so I ordered a melon cream soda (520 yen) and a coffee shop hot dog (390 yen with salad). It had been a while since I had a hot dog, and this one was piping hot and delicious. Of course, the cream soda also brought back childhood memories as I enjoyed it. It felt strange that the drinks were more expensive than the meals. For my second round, I had the charcoal-grilled ice coffee (510 yen) and the coffee shop's Napolitan pasta (670 yen with mini salad). I chose to add Parmesan cheese and Tabasco to the Napolitan. The pasta was piping hot with just the right amount of cooking, and the sauce had a gentle and addictive flavor. Thank you for the meal. The total for the Napolitan set with salad and drink at the coffee shop was 1030 yen.

The pancakes here are the best (*^^*) You can choose the number of pancakes, so you can enjoy them like cake. The coffee is also delicious, so they go perfectly together. Thank you for the meal! ＼(^o^)／

I use it frequently. I think good customer service is very important in a full-service cafe like Coffee Kan. In that respect, I think the Coffee Kan in Ookayama is excellent. The staff are very friendly. If I thought the seats were narrow, they would push them together to make them bigger, and if I thought the sandwich ingredients were a little small, they would make sure to add more. (It may be a petty thought.) Also, although it may not be the best value for money in terms of price alone, Coffee Kan in Ookayama is highly recommended for those who want to stay for a long time. The atmosphere is good, you can come without feeling pressured, and they have reliable power outlets and Wifi.

When I asked the manager for more information, he said that everything written on the menu was all they could provide, and they couldn't guarantee the roasting level even by looking at the beans. In that case, it would be better to label it as "Cupper's Recommendation" instead of "Manager's Recommendation." Since the flavor of coffee can vary greatly depending on the roasting level, it's hard to imagine the taste just from the cupper's description. I didn't want to risk being disappointed with my coffee choice, so I played it safe with a regular coffee blend for 420 yen. It seemed like the coffee had been brewed in advance as the aroma was a bit weak. Overall, it was a bit disappointing, but maybe this is the standard for chain cafes. If you want to enjoy coffee with more confidence, there are always small independent coffee shops with their own roasting. So, I went to my usual spot to cleanse my palate.
