I visited Ryogoku Chaya, a specialty shop for yakitori and chicken dishes. I purchased a large roast chicken, which was made using Tsukuba chicken. I also bought meatballs with lotus root, which had a delicious texture. The roast chicken was satisfying and had a good amount of meat. The total cost for two roast chicken legs and meatballs was ¥2,754, but with a discount, it came to ¥2,484.

First visit in July 2021 (No.2883) I was in the Nihonbashi area that day to gather material for my blog, so I decided to stop by here to pick up some dinner. This is one of the brands of a store directly managed by "Asahi Broiler," established in 1957 (Showa 32), but "Zen-Noh Chicken Foods Co., Ltd." holds 90% of the investment, so it seems like they specialize in chicken (laughs). Vegetable Karaage 277 yen I was curious about the name of the product, so I purchased the above item~ (^_-) I thought it was a normal chicken karaage with vegetables sprinkled on top, but when I tried it, it turned out to be a delicious product made by mixing vegetables and chicken mince and frying it with a strong flavor. It's a tasty dish that can be enjoyed as a snack with alcohol or as a side dish with rice. Thank you for the meal.

After 18 days of abstaining from alcohol, I decided to treat myself by going out for drinks in the neighborhood. However, it was cold and troublesome, so instead I went to the food market at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store during the day to buy some snacks for drinking at home. I purchased "Chicken meatball with 4 kinds of vegetables and chicken wings" for a total of 594 yen. When reheated in the microwave at home, the chicken meatballs were rich in flavor, just as delicious as those from a famous yakitori restaurant. Paired with "Nihon Moroishi Polishing 50% Daiginjo" that I bought nearby, it was a delightful meal. It exceeded my expectations in terms of taste.

The yakitori booth in the Depachika of Nihonbashi seems to be a combination of two stores, with two different signs displayed side by side. On the Ryogoku Chaya side, they serve yakitori with sauce, and I ordered the vegetable-filled tsukune and regular tsukune. When I heated up the vegetable-filled tsukune at home, it was fluffy and had a soft texture. I could taste the flavor of green peppers in the vegetables. The simple tsukune was also soft, but when I added some shichimi togarashi from my home pantry to the small packet provided, it transformed into a deliciously spicy and sweet soft tsukune.

On February 11, 2018, I had lunch at Kaneko Hanosuke where I enjoyed some delicious tempura rice. After that, I went shopping at the Mitsukoshi department store. On this day, I bought yakitori, karaage, and chicken liver at Ryogoku Chaya. It was quite expensive, especially the chicken liver which cost 700 yen for two pieces. However, the chicken liver was delicious. I am someone who only eats liver if it's delicious, and the last time I had truly delicious liver was at "Shinjuku Shomben Yokocho" 30 years ago. The chicken liver here, although it was chicken liver, was one of the top five liver dishes that I found easy to eat. The "Yuzu Kosho Karaage" that I bought along with it was also tasty, even though it was made with chicken thigh meat.

I purchased this bento box at the Depachika (department store basement) of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi. It was already late, so there was only one type of bento box left, with just 3 remaining. I don't remember the name of the bento box (oops). It had chicken soboro and 3 yakitori skewers on top of rice, so it felt like a yakitori soboro bento box. It also had a piece of rolled omelette. The bento box came with separate yakitori sauce and pickles. The yakitori was tender and delicious even though it was cold. The total cost, including tax, was 756 yen. I thought it was a good deal for a bento box from the Depachika. Thank you for the meal.

Ryokoku Chaya is a restaurant located in the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store basement 1st floor food floor Nihonbashi Shokuhinkan, offering delicious chicken tempura and grilled chicken skewers. The location is on a corner, with the showcase arranged in an L-shape, making it difficult for customers to see all the products at once. However, the staff skillfully explain the products. They even recommend the tempura menu to customers buying grilled chicken skewers. Both the tempura and grilled chicken skewers use domestically produced chicken, providing peace of mind.

Asahi Broiler, which operates shops such as Asahi Aburaya and Torimasa, seems to be in charge. However, in order to create a sense of luxury in department store basements, they sometimes use names like Azabu, but there seems to be no connection to Azabu in this group. Anyway, being located in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, it has a sense of dignity. As for department store basement yakitori, it's decent. The meat quality is fairly solid. July 4, 2015 (3.01)

The meat had a good flavor and was juicy. It was also tender. The cooking was average, not overcooked or undercooked but still tender. The skin was a bit flabby but not greasy. The sauce was on the watery side and a bit bland. Overall, it was decently tasty. The skin cost 150 yen, the thigh meat skewer was 170 yen, and the tsukune skewer was 158 yen.

The underground shopping area of Mitsukoshi in Nihonbashi is filled with wonderful shops like Club Harie and MonshuShu, making it a favorite spot for my family. This time, I want to talk about Ryogoku Chaya, where we always get takeout yakitori. While eating freshly grilled yakitori is the best, the takeout here is also top-notch. In the evenings, there can be quite a line, showing how popular it is. We usually get the fried chicken, but today we tried the garlic salt fried chicken, which was delicious with a hint of garlic flavor. Even as takeout, it was juicy and packed with the flavor of the chicken. I also bought some chicken skin salt-grilled skewers for my son, and they were fantastic - no unpleasant smell, just delicious juicy meat! My son insists on only eating yakitori from here now, that's how good it is. We also got some liver and cartilage skewers, which were really tasty and of high quality. While it's not the same as eating it fresh off the grill, the takeout here is truly delicious. We will definitely be coming back!

Both countries tea house Chicken minced meat and fried chicken bento box This is a bento box from a chicken specialty store. The high-quality chicken minced meat is juicy and fluffy, and goes perfectly with the soft-boiled egg. The fried chicken is large and satisfying to eat. The meat is soft and moist. It's quite a generous portion, very satisfying! If you eat this much, you won't know summer fatigue? Hmm, but I wish I had a slightly smaller appetite (laughs) Both countries tea house Teriyaki bowl Both countries tea house is a chicken specialty store that offers a variety of chicken dishes such as grilled chicken, fried chicken, fried chicken, and roast chicken. This is a recent new menu. The teriyaki chicken, baked with plenty of sweet and savory sauce, is served generously. As expected from a chicken specialty store, they use high-quality ingredients. The chicken is juicy and has a good texture! The fragrant grilled green onions and shishito peppers on the side also go well with the meat. Recommended menu: Kimchi Oyakodon Soft chicken thigh meat is wrapped with a wobbly half-cooked egg. Topped with kimchi on top. Normally, oyakodon has a mild impression, but with kimchi added, it becomes a powerful menu. Surprisingly, the seasoning of oyakodon and the spiciness of kimchi go well together. I always thought kimchi was for pork, but it's also good with chicken!

I bought yakitori and meatballs with lotus root at Ryogoku Chaya in Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi. I purchased yakitori with liver, negima, and cartilage. The cartilage was delicious with a crunchy texture, alternating with something like chicken tenderloin. The liver was a bit tough as it was well-cooked. The most delicious item was the meatball with lotus root inside.

When looking for take-out yakitori, I found a popular place with long lines. I visited for take-out and purchased yakitori, then parked at Mitsukoshi's affiliated parking lot. I arrived around 1 pm on a Sunday with about 10 people in line. Even after purchasing, there was still a similar line. My parents wanted to eat yakitori, so I bought some to bring back home. The shop was popular with many people lining up, but it didn't seem like they were running out of stock. They provide yakitori with sauce and shichimi, and all the flavors were delicious. I couldn't find any other yakitori shops in Coredo or Mitsukoshi, so this place might be popular and prone to long lines.
