I visited this restaurant because I was craving couscous curry. As soon as I entered the shop, I was greeted by a spicy Arab atmosphere filled with a delightful aroma. It felt like being in an Egyptian souk (market). The couscous curry was like a Japanese-style almond curry with chickpeas, but instead of rice, it was served with couscous. It had a familiar and comforting taste. I think ordering a traditional Arab dish would be the right choice at this restaurant rather than curry. There was a friendly Arab-looking master instead of a Japanese person. It seems like it would be fun to consult with him while choosing the menu. Thank you for the delicious meal.

In Okinawa Town, known for its numerous drinking establishments, the Arabian restaurant "Baba Meena" in Daitabashi celebrated its one-year anniversary recently. The dapper chef, hailing from Egypt, warmly welcomed us with a smile even though we arrived just in time for lunch. Sipping on lemon water with plenty of fruit pulp, we perused the menu, which featured popular dishes like falafel, kofta, and moussaka. However, our target for the day was the Arabian curry served with couscous, a unique choice not typically found with rice or bread. The lentil soup we ordered as an appetizer was thick and hearty, almost like a lentil paste with a gentle coconut and garlic flavor. Instead of the Turkish flatbread I was expecting, we were served crispy flour tortillas, adding an exotic touch to the meal. The chef's recommended couscous curry, a tomato-based chicken curry with a decent level of spiciness, was not the typical spicy Indian curry but had a distinct Arabian and African influence. Pairing this curry with Moroccan couscous created a new and exciting flavor experience, different from the usual Indian cuisine. To top off the meal, we were treated to coffee and a small cake as part of their first-anniversary celebration. While grilled items like shawarma would typically pair well with alcohol, this non-alcoholic restaurant offers the option to take your food to a nearby bar for a unique dining experience.

Carefully crafted Middle Eastern dishes. The owner is said to be from Egypt. It's a very cozy place where you can relax. Since many dishes originate from the Middle East, it's fun to think about as you eat. Congratulations on reaching your first anniversary.

I went to the restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. The kebab was delicious with a good level of spiciness in the sauce. The staff was very kind and taught me how to eat it properly. I would like to go again. The portion size was quite generous.

It is located just a short walk from the south exit of Daitabashi Station on the Keio Line, towards Sasazuka. The shop has a small entrance and is not very noticeable. The food is delicious, with a completely different image from traditional Arabian cuisine. It feels like dining at a European table.

I used takeout. The kebab roll, shawarma, and Cajun chicken were all delicious with authentic spices.
