TA・KA
I visited this place that opened at Suitengumae LaQua. They were offering a special deal for their premium natural tuna set (4,400 yen) at half price for the first 2 days, so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived near closing time, there were already about 20 people waiting in line. Even though it was already opening time, we were not being led inside the restaurant. Slowly, people started to be escorted inside. During this time, the staff kept asking whether we were dining in or how many people were in our group (even though it was different staff each time). Finally, after 20 minutes from opening, I was able to enter the relatively spacious restaurant which was almost empty. I couldn't understand why we had to wait so long. I sat at the counter and looked through the menu. I pressed the buzzer in front of me to call a staff member, but even after hearing a response, nobody came to take my order. Frustrated, I had to stop a busy staff member to finally place my order. Despite the many available seats, the people waiting outside were not being seated. There were plenty of staff in the dining area, but the operation seemed poorly managed. About 5 minutes after ordering, the sushi was served, followed by miso soup. I enjoyed the 6 pieces of nigiri, gunkan, and rolls, especially the seared tuna. Although the quality was satisfying, I found the regular price of 4,400 yen a bit high. When considering it as a lunch option for a salaryman, it would need to be in the 2,000 yen range. This limited the menu options for both sushi and rice bowls. The quality of the sushi was good, but the price point made me think twice. After finishing my meal, I went to pay. There was a line at the cashier, with orders being taken for takeout as well. The staff seemed disorganized, taking breaks during the payment process and mixing up orders between dine-in and takeout customers. Overall, even considering it was only the second day of opening, the service was subpar.
