I went to Hakata with my old friends from October 2nd (Friday) to 4th (Sunday). It took about 3 hours by Shinkansen from Nagoya to Hakata. The highlight of the trip was the dinner on the 3rd day (Saturday) at the teppanyaki restaurant "Rikaen". We enjoyed dishes such as Iwami beef Chateaubriand (180g per person), live lobster, abalone, sautéed foie gras, live prawn, squid, and more. The restaurant selects the best cuts from locally sourced Kyushu black wagyu A5 grade beef. The restaurant also has a yakiniku branch with the same name in Hakata. Interestingly, when making the reservation, I accidentally called the yakiniku restaurant first, leading to a funny mix-up. We took a taxi from our hotel, Okura, to the restaurant located relatively close to the east side of JR Hakata Station. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with a 3cm thick teppanyaki grill in a U-shape layout. The chef and up to 16 guests could sit face-to-face, with three chefs working that day. The Chateaubriand, cut into 180g portions for each of us, was cooked to our preference and seasoned with rock salt and yuzu pepper. The live lobster was introduced live before being carefully prepared in the kitchen. The foie gras was delicious, and the squid was tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes with butter were smooth and rich, and the abalone and live prawn were also exceptional. We also enjoyed garlic chips as an appetizer. Lastly, we had garlic rice with diced fillet as a finale. We paired these dishes with delicious white and red wines. It was a memorable dinner in Hakata with great food and excellent service. The eldest son worked part-time at "Rikaen" during his college days, a popular restaurant known for serving delicious high-quality black-haired Wagyu beef. This time, we visited their sister restaurant together, where we enjoyed a teppanyaki course meal. We chose the "Steak Selection Lunch Course" which includes a meal set for 1500 yen plus 100g of black-haired Wagyu steak, with prices varying depending on the cut of meat selected (ranging from 3800 yen to 8000 yen). The meal set included seasonal soup, roast beef salad, seasonal grilled vegetables, white rice, red miso soup, pickles, and dessert. We opted to upgrade to garlic rice for an additional 500 yen, which was delicious with a nice garlic aroma. The seasonal dessert was black sesame blancmange with fresh peach and strawberry ice cream topping. For the meat, we selected the Sirloin for 3800 yen and the Red Chateaubriand for 6500 yen. The meat was cooked right in front of us on the teppan grill, showcasing the tenderness and flavor of the Wagyu beef. As expected from Rikaen, the food was delicious. If you're looking for tasty beef in Fukuoka, be sure to visit Rikaen. Highly recommended!

I have visited Yakiniku Rikaen several times, but this was my first time trying their teppanyaki dishes. I made a reservation for the seasonal course. For the main steak, I chose the fillet steak while my companion chose the Chateaubriand. I wasn't a big fan of teppanyaki dishes before, but all the dishes were just the right amount, and most importantly, the meat was delicious and I didn't feel too full or greasy.

Located on the second floor of a stylish commercial building near Hakata Station, this restaurant features a counter and table seating in a C-shape layout. There were two chefs grilling the food. The course started with appetizers, but the highlights were the beef tongue and Chateaubriand, which were delicious. The fat had a nice crispness and a refreshing aftertaste. However, there seemed to be insufficient ventilation as the restaurant became a bit smoky when they started grilling. The service was not overly formal, making it suitable for a casual date. Overall, the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

For lunch, I had teppanyaki-style Japanese beef, called sirloin. It started with brisket roast beef salad, followed by steak, vegetables, and rice. This style of lunch is always delicious. I also had dessert, coffee, and a highball. It was great!

Great atmosphere and excellent value for money♡♡ Found an amazing restaurant♪♪ I already loved Rikaen's yakiniku, and when I tried their teppanyaki, it was also fantastic✧˖° A place I can recommend to others, with a touch of luxury yet a relaxing ambiance✧˖° Will definitely go back♪ The weekday lunch specials, the dice steak for 1600 yen and the rare chicken lunch for 1800 yen, were both delicious♡(。☌ᴗ☌。) Personally, I also loved the pickles~♡♡

I had teppanyaki lunch at Rikaen near Hakata Station. I ordered the chicken thigh lunch. It's a bit pricey for dinner, but it's 1800 yen for lunch. A big piece of meat appeared, quite a generous portion. They cut and grill it right in front of you. It's cooked quite rare. It goes well with wasabi soy sauce and salt. This is delicious! I'd like to enjoy it slowly with a glass of wine. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived in Fukuoka for a funeral and on the first day, I searched for teppanyaki restaurants. Based on the reviews on Tabelog, we decided to make a reservation at Rikouen with 4 adults. Each person ordered a 10,000 yen course, and drinks were ordered separately. According to my sister-in-law, this place used to be a famous yakiniku restaurant in the Hakata area... The teppanyaki restaurant has been open for about 10 years. The course we had was delicious, especially the meat! The dishes were also beautifully presented. The ambiance inside the restaurant was cozy with nice lighting. We enjoyed the delicious food. Making a reservation was the right choice! I would like to try the yakiniku restaurant next time.

For lunch, I had the Minute Steak Lunch for 2800 yen and upgraded the white rice to garlic rice for an additional 500 yen. The meal included roast beef salad, diced wagyu steak, garlic rice, and coffee. The diced wagyu steak had a rich meaty flavor and was more delicious than eating yakiniku. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The restaurant is located a little away from Hakata Station, but it is easy to find as it is in a building along a main street. The exterior had a chic and luxurious feel. As it was past lunchtime, there were few customers, so I sat at the counter. I ordered the Mini Lunch set for 2800 yen, which allows you to choose from 3 types of meat. The salad came with lightly heated roast beef, which was served right in front of me! It was cooked rare and tasted great with wasabi or yuzu pepper. When I finished the salad, the meat arrived! It was amazing... not too fatty, refreshing, and easy to eat. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I enjoyed watching the meat being cooked right in front of me, which is the charm of teppanyaki. Lastly, I had a cup of tea to cleanse my palate. The meat was really good... no unpleasant smell at all. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I always follow a person who went to this restaurant and decided to visit it as well. We ordered the Mini Steak Lunch, where you can choose from 3 types of meat. My wife and I shared the "Kurimu" and "Wagyu Sagari Saikoro Steak". The salad came with a slice of roast beef that was delicious and fatty. The "Kurimu" was a shoulder cut of roast beef, with just the right amount of fat and tender red meat, very tasty. The quality of the meat was truly outstanding at Rikaen. We also requested to change the rice to garlic rice, which had a nice garlic aroma and was delicious.

A long-established teppanyaki restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Nishi Gas Terrace Ville. I also like fish, but I also like meat. I made a reservation by phone the day before and decided to visit this old-fashioned restaurant so that I wouldn't be disappointed when I'm in the mood for meat. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with teppanyaki counter seats and table seats. They are not only maintaining social distance at the counter seats, but also placing partition boards for each customer to ensure proper infection control measures. Although weekday lunch is a good deal, I heard that they offer "momoiro" meat, but I chose the "minced steak lunch (2800 yen including tax)" where you can choose your meat. You can choose from "100g of miso", "150g of cream", and "130g of sagari sirloin steak", so I chose "miso". ◆ Appetizer with Japanese beef and colorful vegetables salad... The roast beef was tender and flavorful, very delicious. The meal course costs 3000 yen with the option to choose your favorite meat. I chose the fillet steak this time, 100g, and they grilled it right in front of me. The smell was amazing and really whetted my appetite. The taste was excellent as well, everything was perfect. For an additional 500 yen, you can switch from white rice to garlic rice, which was also delicious.

I was looking forward to enjoying the Wagyu Chateaubriand course at Imari. They didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, so I requested medium rare, but it was overcooked. The next one was rare, which was disappointing. The wine was quite good, though, so I was satisfied.

Farewell lunch with my senior. We ordered the rare lunch set with lean Japanese beef. I have been here many times and always order this menu. The green salad had a satisfying amount, and the grilled vegetables included zucchini and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were deliciously sweet. The lean beef was healthy and juicy. The white rice was perfectly fluffy and had a rich flavor. All the dishes were served at the right timing, so we didn't need to worry about time during lunch. We were able to enjoy our meal slowly, and finished eating in about 45 minutes.

The other day, I ate a course where I could choose steak. There aren't many restaurants in Fukuoka where they cook it in front of you, so I hadn't been to one before. But since it was a branch of Rikkaen, I felt like it wouldn't disappoint. And it was indeed delicious. I don't like noisy restaurants, so it was nice to be able to relax on a weekday.
