I revisited the area near Nakasu on a weekend off after a long time. After meeting with acquaintances, I headed to this restaurant. Last year, I had many business trips and didn't have the opportunity to visit, so it's really been exactly a year since my last visit. On this day last year, the results of a qualification exam were announced. It's an auspicious day for me. I arrived at the restaurant around 22:25. The sign was still there, indicating that the original store was still in operation. I felt relieved. The restaurant only had counter seats, and there were about 6 customers there. I was seated at an empty counter seat and checked the menu. I was happy to see that the garlic fried rice was back on the menu. It's a dish I really wanted to try last time. I ordered the tonkotsu black ramen and garlic fried rice. I asked for the noodles to be cooked very firm. I waited for my order. The server who took my order didn't seem to be Japanese. Their Japanese was good, so I didn't notice at first. In about 5 minutes, the tonkotsu black ramen and then the garlic fried rice were brought to me. The aroma of the garlic oil filled the air. I took a sip of the tonkotsu black ramen soup. It was delicious as I remembered. There was no strong pork bone smell. The rich and slightly salty tonkotsu soup was mild and flavorful. The garlic oil did a great job. The soup was rich but surprisingly had a clean aftertaste. The noodles were straight and thin. They were slightly thicker than the standard thin noodles in Hakata. They were delicious with the soup. The homemade noodles are made with spring water from the Naka River. The soft-boiled egg had a rich and creamy yolk. There was a large, thin slice of chashu. It was delicious. The toppings included seaweed, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, and fried shallots. I took a bite of the garlic fried rice. It was tasty. It was a moist fried rice. It had a relatively generous amount of oil but a clean aftertaste. It was slightly bland. The garlic chives were not very spicy. The ingredients included pork, egg, green onions, and sesame seeds. The fried rice was of high quality, but I felt that regular white rice would go better with the tonkotsu black ramen at this restaurant. That's just my opinion. I also received complimentary spicy pickled mustard greens. The spiciness kicked in later on... I quickly finished my meal. The rich soup at this restaurant would go well with plain white rice. I wish they had regular white rice on the menu. It's a ramen that was developed as a late-night meal after drinking, but I think it's delicious even when you're not drunk. I want to eat it every time I come to Nakasu, but unfortunately, that's not possible. For me, this restaurant is currently the number one ramen shop in Fukuoka. I think it's suitable for those who like rich and hearty ramen. Next time I visit, I might try the tonkotsu black ramen and chashu bowl. This time, the total bill was 1600 yen. It was for two individual dishes, which is why it was this price. Considering the location in the bustling area of Nakasu, I think it's reasonably priced. It was delicious. I will come back again.
