On March 19th, Reiwa 5 (Sunday), I visited Tokyo for a school trip during my junior high school days, then for work after graduating, and later for a business trip after leaving my company. I have visited Tokyo several times in total. Each time, I made sure to visit Edo Castle, which I always remembered as the "Imperial Palace" rather than Edo Castle. It was only about a year ago that I became aware that Edo Castle still exists, during my study of castles. Since then, I had been wanting to visit Edo Castle and finally had the opportunity to do so this time. I also wanted to visit other castles associated with the Hojo clan, such as Shinobu Castle, Hachigata Castle, Hachioji Castle, and Odawara Castle, but due to various circumstances, I had to postpone those visits for another time. After exploring Edo Castle for over two hours, I searched for a place to have lunch before heading back to Osaka. After about 30 minutes of searching, I couldn't find a place that piqued my interest. In such situations, I believe that it's best to make a decision without hesitation, so I looked for a nearby restaurant that had availability and found this one. For us, the most important factor when choosing a restaurant is that it is not crowded and we can enjoy our meal comfortably. From that perspective, we decided on this restaurant. Is it rude to say that? However, I was amazed by the variety and quality of the dishes we ordered! Our orders included: Appetizer x 2 (440 yen each, including tax), Squid Sashimi (1,089 yen), Vegetable Warm Salad (869 yen), Addictive Cabbage (385 yen), Assorted Satsuma-Age (759 yen), Fried Whole Squid (539 yen), Draft Beer (660 yen), White Wine (Koshu, 792 yen), Lemon Sour (605 yen), Sweet Potato Shochu with Hot Water (Osun, 495 yen), Sweet Potato Shochu with Hot Water (Tomino Takara-yama, 605 yen), Highball with Square Ice (583 yen), Red Wine (price unknown). I noticed that other customers who seemed familiar with this restaurant were ordering a boxed sashimi platter, which looked stunning. When we thought about ordering it, we had already ordered several dishes, so it was too late. It was a bit disappointing, but the other dishes were delicious, and the alcohol kept flowing! In about an hour, my wife had three drinks, and I had four strong ones! This shows that the dishes were perfect for enjoying alcohol! In the end, we stayed for a little over an hour, enjoying traditional Japanese cuisine and delicious drinks. However, I must say a word about the development of Tokyo Station. Due to the phased development, it seems that there is a lack of comprehensive planning compared to the arrangement of stores in Shin-Osaka. It makes me wonder if it will be easy to find each store in the vicinity of Tokyo Station on my next visit. Thank you for the meal!
