Tokyo Gourmet Zone, a new gourmet spot on the 2nd floor of "Tokyo Station Ichibangai," directly connected to Tokyo Station, just a 1-minute walk from the Yaesu North Exit ticket gate, has opened! They offer a wide range of dining options including popular bistros, bars, and beer halls in Tokyo, with many private rooms available. It's a great spot for everyday dining as well as special occasions like business entertaining, welcome and farewell parties, and girls' night out. During a preview event before the opening, I visited a popular "Ibamae Bar" that serves authentic Japanese and creative cuisine prepared by skilled chefs. They offer a fusion of fresh seafood selected by the chefs and seasonal Japanese dishes with a modern twist. The menu items I ordered were all unique and each dish brought cheers to the table when it arrived! The sashimi was even served in a decorative box, and not only did it look amazing, but it was also incredibly fresh and delicious! In particular, the "uni and meat roll," a fusion of authentic Japanese and bar cuisine, was a blissful delight with each bite making me close my eyes in ecstasy. I often use Tokyo Station for travel, but with such a wonderful place like this, I might just visit for the restaurant alone! My perception of Tokyo Station has completely changed. It's a great place to liven up after a nostalgic trip and they also offer affordable lunch menus for everyday dining. Highly recommended!

及第クレーマー

On March 19th, Reiwa 5 (Sunday), I visited Tokyo for a school trip during my junior high school days, then for work after graduating, and later for a business trip after leaving my company. I have visited Tokyo several times in total. Each time, I made sure to visit Edo Castle, which I always remembered as the "Imperial Palace" rather than Edo Castle. It was only about a year ago that I became aware that Edo Castle still exists, during my study of castles. Since then, I had been wanting to visit Edo Castle and finally had the opportunity to do so this time. I also wanted to visit other castles associated with the Hojo clan, such as Shinobu Castle, Hachigata Castle, Hachioji Castle, and Odawara Castle, but due to various circumstances, I had to postpone those visits for another time. After exploring Edo Castle for over two hours, I searched for a place to have lunch before heading back to Osaka. After about 30 minutes of searching, I couldn't find a place that piqued my interest. In such situations, I believe that it's best to make a decision without hesitation, so I looked for a nearby restaurant that had availability and found this one. For us, the most important factor when choosing a restaurant is that it is not crowded and we can enjoy our meal comfortably. From that perspective, we decided on this restaurant. Is it rude to say that? However, I was amazed by the variety and quality of the dishes we ordered! Our orders included: Appetizer x 2 (440 yen each, including tax), Squid Sashimi (1,089 yen), Vegetable Warm Salad (869 yen), Addictive Cabbage (385 yen), Assorted Satsuma-Age (759 yen), Fried Whole Squid (539 yen), Draft Beer (660 yen), White Wine (Koshu, 792 yen), Lemon Sour (605 yen), Sweet Potato Shochu with Hot Water (Osun, 495 yen), Sweet Potato Shochu with Hot Water (Tomino Takara-yama, 605 yen), Highball with Square Ice (583 yen), Red Wine (price unknown). I noticed that other customers who seemed familiar with this restaurant were ordering a boxed sashimi platter, which looked stunning. When we thought about ordering it, we had already ordered several dishes, so it was too late. It was a bit disappointing, but the other dishes were delicious, and the alcohol kept flowing! In about an hour, my wife had three drinks, and I had four strong ones! This shows that the dishes were perfect for enjoying alcohol! In the end, we stayed for a little over an hour, enjoying traditional Japanese cuisine and delicious drinks. However, I must say a word about the development of Tokyo Station. Due to the phased development, it seems that there is a lack of comprehensive planning compared to the arrangement of stores in Shin-Osaka. It makes me wonder if it will be easy to find each store in the vicinity of Tokyo Station on my next visit. Thank you for the meal!

Second stop for drinking near Tokyo Station! After leaving the beer hall and looking around, every place was full, people were lining up, waiting to be seated, it seemed hopeless. But then I spotted a group leaving a restaurant and decided to go for it. They had a table available! The entrance was narrow and the area near the entrance was visible from the aisle, making it feel cramped. But they cleared up a spacious area in the back for us! There were small table seats near the entrance, counter seats in the middle, and table seats for 4, 2, and 2 in the back, even private rooms. We sat at the end. Without even looking at the menu, I decided on the bubbly lemon sour that was on the cover! Both of us did! It was ¥680, served in a glass with lemon and ice, poured with sparkling wine bubbling up! It felt like a hostess's way of drinking, haha, but it was delicious! Two older gentlemen came in next and naturally sat at the 4-person table at the end. We were asked to sit at the 2-person table in the middle, which made us uncomfortably close, but we ended up having a surprisingly enjoyable time chatting with them! We ordered the fried long potato, which was delicious - the batter was chewy and crispy, and the long potato was tender! I don't remember the appetizer! The older gentlemen treated us to refills of the bubbly lemon sour (refills were a good deal at ¥600) and we had a few more drinks. It was delicious! They also gave us satsuma-age, which was also delicious! The service was... well, average, I guess. It might be uncomfortable sitting at the front seats. The counter seats might also be unsettling with staff and customers passing by frequently. In the end, the older gentlemen paid, and I have no idea how much it was, haha. It was a new discovery for me that you can have this kind of experience near Tokyo Station. A place where you can easily strike up a conversation with the person next to you. It might be rare in the Gourmet Zone. They seemed to have an excess of sparkling wine in stock, haha.

I made a reservation online through this site and visited the restaurant. The food was good, but I was a bit disappointed with the choice of sake. It seemed like they didn't put much effort into it, like they didn't have a sake sommelier. I also wished the food would have been a bit better.

I went to the Itamae Bar in Tokyo Station! The long and narrow interior was bustling, being located in Tokyo Station. The corn tempura was like kakiage style. The assorted sweet potato tempura was juicy and delicious. I wonder if it's affiliated with Suntory? The drinks were like that. The sparkling wine bottles were reasonably priced in the 3,000 yen range. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the second restaurant with a full stomach, so I will come back next time and leave a proper comment! It was a feast for the eyes. Beautiful. The food will have to wait until next time, but I was satisfied with the drinks. Being at Tokyo Station, it was reasonably expensive.

As usual, two aunties went to the restaurant together. The vegetables, chicken, and anago tempura in the appetizer were not just ordinary tempura, each dish had a unique and flavorful taste that captivated our hearts. While the sashimi platter and roast beef were delicious like in any other restaurant, the attention to detail in the garnishes showed that they didn't compromise on taste, not just visuals. We couldn't fully appreciate everything as two aunties, so we'll definitely go back. However, we're also curious about other restaurants in the area, so it's hard to decide where to go next! Haha

My colleagues and I used this restaurant, there were 6 of us. We were guided to a high table near the entrance, which was not very comfortable. I wish they had placed us somewhere else based on our needs. The food was decent, nothing to complain about. The restaurant is conveniently located near Tokyo Station and offers a standard level of quality. The course menu was based on Japanese cuisine, suitable for casual dining. Overall, it was okay for a quick and casual meal, but nothing particularly outstanding. It seems like the restaurant lives up to its name in that sense.

When it comes to fish, sashimi is great, but sometimes I feel like having grilled fish, so I ordered the daily special for lunch. This was my third visit to the restaurant. I usually ordered sashimi before, but this time I got a huge plate! It had mackerel, red snapper, one piece of fried chicken, and rolled omelette. It also came with salad, pickles, hijiki, and miso soup. The cost performance was amazing! They also offer free rice refills, which is great for men. It was a very satisfying lunch. Even if you're not a fan of fish, they also have meat dishes. At night, it looks like a great place for enjoying sake.

I entered the restaurant at 13:15 and was disappointed to find out that the Uni (sea urchin) was no longer included in the Gyu Steak Gozen dish, even though I had seen it on the menu on Tabelog. I confirmed with the staff and they said it's not available now. My excitement dropped a bit. I decided to order the Gyu Steak Gozen (1,500 yen) with extra rice and it arrived at 13:27. The steak was topped with green onions and wasabi, and I enjoyed the sweet sauce with the combination of flavors. The meat seemed a bit thin for a steak, more like roast beef or beef tataki. I wish they had at least added a yellow yolk to replace the Uni. The kenchin miso soup was filled with ingredients like fried tofu, carrots, taro, and burdock, although I couldn't find any meat in it. The flavor was a bit mild. I finished my meal, and when I mentioned the Uni incident to the staff during payment, they apologized and explained that they haven't had Uni since last summer. My mood improved a bit, and I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. I personally felt the price was a bit higher by 200-300 yen, but overall, I rated my experience positively. Thank you for the meal.

Atmosphere: It was a Friday evening before the end of the month, around 7 pm. I was lucky to get a seat quickly, but it was quite crowded. The seating was a bit cramped, so ordering a lot of dishes might be a challenge. For those who enjoy sake, there are plenty of options to choose from, which can be quite enjoyable. The sashimi was delicious and well-prepared, with various seasoning options like soy sauce and salt to enhance the flavors. The potato salad and pork with miso sauce were also very tasty. However, the potato fries we ordered at the end were completely cold, which was disappointing as we had expected them to be freshly fried. In terms of cost performance, I think it was just right.

On the day of returning to Osaka, I started the morning with a stroll around Edo Castle, followed by lunch in Tokyo. I explored various gourmet spots at Yaesu North Exit in Tokyo Station, and ended up joining in with the spirited call of an Edo local saying "Fish should be eaten in front of the chef." The menu was filled with a variety of fish from different regions, as well as familiar and reasonably priced dishes. We enjoyed dishes such as squid sashimi, vegetable salad, addictive cabbage, assorted sweet potato tempura, and fried spear squid. For drinks, we had draft beer, white wine, lemon sour, sweet potato shochu, highball, and red wine. We had a lively drinking session before boarding the Shinkansen. The food was fresh and generous, and we had a casual and enjoyable time. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The entrance was narrow but surprisingly the interior was spacious. The food, mainly seafood, was delicious!! The assorted sashimi was seriously tasty, so be sure to order it! They offered a sake diagnosis, allowing you to choose your preferred sake, which was a nice service.

The request was to visit a place where you can drink around Tokyo Station. Since it's close to Tokyo Station, it was bustling. It's a newly developed area with a variety of shops, so it looks fun! The restaurant I visited had a lot of creative fish dishes on the menu, given its name "Itamae Bar." I found the Kyoto-style pickled vegetable gratin to be interesting. It was delicious without any resistance due to the white miso. The fresh fish namero also went well with the drinks. It was fun to try out the new menu items. There are many other shops in this area, so I want to try them all someday. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurants located on the second floor of Tokyo Station not only serve delicious food but also have beautifully presented dishes. Among them, I believe the seafood options are the best in terms of cost performance. The service is fast, both for drinks and food, allowing customers to quickly enjoy a good meal in the busy station environment.

As soon as I was seated at a narrow table by the entrance, I started feeling uncomfortable. But I thought, well, if you walk into a restaurant in Tokyo without a reservation, this is what you get. The staff were casual. There was always a female staff member next to the male staff member, chatting away without really paying attention to us. The appetizer was not good. The chopsticks smelled like fish. The potato salad was tasty though. The beef tataki was cold, tough, and too salty. The horse mackerel sashimi looked and smelled raw. It had been out for quite some time. It tasted even worse. I could only manage to eat one piece. There were various items placed next to our table, including a black bag that looked like a spare receipt on a shelf meant for displaying alcohol. It seemed like the staff didn't care much about appearances. We ended up spending over 5000 yen for beer and the food. I will never go back there. The surrounding restaurants were lively, with people enjoying their meals, and I regretted choosing this place.

The food in the photos looked delicious, so I chose this restaurant, but... First, the staff seemed unenthusiastic and the service was lackluster. There were no oshibori towels provided. The actual dishes were not as good as they looked in the pictures. The sashimi was thin and had a slight odor. The table space was cramped and they haphazardly placed the dishes. It seemed like a restaurant focused on appearance only, with no substance. I had high expectations but was very disappointed. It was a shock to encounter such a disappointing restaurant after looking forward to trying it for so long.

On September 4th, I made my first visit to a restaurant in Tokyo Station Ichibangai 2F with the intention of having a casual lunch drink. When I arrived at 12:45, there were no other customers, but the restaurant quickly filled up with customers after I was seated. I was the only solo customer in the restaurant. The restaurant has a clean and unified white color scheme with a refreshing atmosphere. Items I ordered: - Highball with whisky - Hatsugomo sparkling sake - Tartare like namero - Dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette with dashi) - Otoshi (appetizer) Total cost: 3,366 yen They didn't have Hoppy, so I started with a Highball. The otoshi was unnecessary, but it consisted of four small dishes of cold appetizers that were perfect for nibbling. I forgot what was in the appetizer, but the namero was delicious and went well with alcohol. The dashimaki tamago had a wonderful aroma when it arrived, and it was hot and fresh. It had a rich dashi flavor with plenty of green onions sandwiched inside, making it the best dashimaki tamago I've had recently. The sparkling sake was sweet. I wish they had Hoppy, as I think it's the best option in terms of cost-effectiveness and for keeping carbohydrate, calorie, and purine levels low.

I visited this restaurant because it was close to Yurakucho Station in Tokyo. The interior was bright and clean, but I was disappointed to find the counter seats covered in dust. The female staff members were all very friendly and provided good service. I can't remember exactly what I ordered since I lost the receipt, but here's what I think I had: - Chicken liver and sea urchin pate for 745 yen: The portion of bread served with it was generous, but the taste was just average. - Awa chicken marinated in miso for 853 yen: The meat and seasoning were good, but for five pieces at this price, it felt a bit expensive. - Crispy buttered yam for 594 yen: It was delicious, with fried yam topped with a thick butter sauce. A simple but well-thought-out dish. Being near Tokyo Station, the drink prices were a bit high, like the 495 yen oolong highball. Overall, it was a decent meal.

First visit to "Itamae Bar Tokyo Gourmet Zone Store" located in Tokyo Station Ichibangai 2F, directly connected to Tokyo Station Yaesu North Exit. ・Itamae Hako Mori Sashimi 2,860 yen ・Assorted Tempura 1,550 yen ・Iburi Gakko Cheese 480 yen ・Kaku Highball Mega 869 yen The restaurant has a spacious interior with a total of 50 seats including table and counter seats. We started with an explanation of the appetizer and a toast. Smoked cheese, Awaodori chicken breast, shrimp simmered in soy sauce, grated nagaimo with wasabi, and sea bream roe. The Itamae-san carefully selected fresh sashimi and presented it in a luxurious box like a treasure chest, a specialty of Itamae Bar. We also ordered the assorted tempura and Iburi Gakko cream cheese. The sashimi box is a masterpiece with dry ice creating smoke rising like a treasure chest. The freshness is good, but the sliced sashimi is a bit thin, which is expected given the location and setting at Tokyo Station. The tempura, including shrimp and sillago, is delicious as it is freshly fried. The Iburi Gakko and cream cheese have a nice smoky aroma and the cream cheese adds a nice touch, making it a tasty accent. It's convenient to stop by without getting wet in the rain on a day like when we visited. Recommended. Thank you for the meal.

The taste is delicious, the restaurant is full of salarymen, and the fact that salad and rice refills are free is great (although I didn't ask for them as I don't need that much food). However, there are some hygiene issues like sticky tables and dirty walls, which is disappointing especially for a place that handles raw food.
