Near Shin-Okubo Station, I wanted to sit down and have tea, but I had already decided to buy potatoes and frozen jackfruit. As I passed by the area, I noticed a stylish Korean cafe with a menu outside offering donuts and strawberry drinks. The prices were not listed, but it seemed like they included dessert with lunch. Despite planning to only get a drink, I decided to check out the cafe.
The cafe had a high ceiling, with two medium-sized fans and a bright interior. There were tables for four, staircase-like seating, small tables with round cushions, and potted plants. The cafe had a cafeteria-style setup with glass partitions, and there were two entrances. The donuts were large and varied, but I only looked this time. The menu at the counter had prices listed in Korean Won, around 650 yen for a drink. I ordered a Blue Lemonade with coconut, which was served in a tray with a buzzer.
The drink was a beautiful blue color, not too carbonated, with some red berries that might have been Saskatoon berries. It was refreshing, and surprisingly generous in portion. The blue color was mainly for aesthetics. The cafe was spacious and bright, a rare find near Shin-Okubo Station. It was around 4 pm on a weekday, and the cafe was 80-90% full, with all female customers. Despite the crowded area outside, the cafe felt calm and peaceful, like an oasis in Shin-Okubo.
There were not many people eating the recommended donuts, but those who did were cutting them with forks and knives. The cookies looked tempting, and there was an option for takeout as well. Overall, it was a bit pricey, with one donut costing around 750 yen, but they looked delicious. Thank you for the meal.
