The other day, I went to Fukuoka again. So, this time it's new information. This year, I had a serious illness. Since then, my husband has been very kind and supportive of me. A trip of gratitude to my husband. On the first day, we visited Shin Miura at my husband's request. We were able to make a reservation through Tabelog, which was convenient. However, the access to this restaurant is not very good. It's about a 20-minute walk from Hakozaki Line, Gofukumachi Station. By bus, it's about a 1-minute walk from the Nishitetsu Bus 25 bound for Kaizuka. But local buses may be a bit challenging for tourists. So, we decided to take a taxi. It cost around ¥1800 from Hakata Gion area. First, I was a little overwhelmed by the appearance of the restaurant. I remember the taxi driver saying that it's a high-end place. When we entered the restaurant, we had to take off our shoes and climb a few steps to enter the room. We chose a private room over the counter. The water server was always there to serve, so it was hassle-free. The Sakura course was ¥7150 (tax included), which includes appetizers, chicken sashimi, Mizudaki, vegetables, rice, and dessert according to the restaurant's website. I'm not a fan of raw chicken, so I informed them when making the reservation. They called me to confirm, and assured me that the chicken sashimi is cooked, so I felt relieved. The appetizer of grilled fish on cedar board was delicious, with a hint of cedar flavor. The sweet potato with orange peel was subtly sweet with an orange aroma. The mid-course was a combination of liver pate, cream cheese, and fig in a wafer. The spinach was seasoned with kabosu, which I tried for the first time and found it to be a good match. The mushroom sauce for the chicken broth chawanmushi was served cold and had an elegant taste. The Mizudaki soup was very rich, and the chicken meat was tender and fell off the bone easily. The vegetables included Chinese cabbage, enoki mushrooms, broccoli, shiitake mushrooms, komatsuna, and tofu. The mochi was simmered for a long time but didn't melt, which was surprising. My husband, who loves mochi, finished two pieces quickly. The meal ended with soup poured over rice without simmering. It was delicious! The dessert was a creamy dessert with a choice of cinnamon coffee, hojicha, or matcha sauce. My husband had coffee, and I had hojicha, which went well with the dessert. The bill for 2 beers, 1 glass of sake was ¥18876. The landlady came to greet us during the meal, and she was very friendly. The young lady who served our table was also very polite and had a constant smile. We had a wonderful time enjoying a delicious meal and spending quality time together. Later, in the taxi on the way back, I suddenly remembered that I forgot something. When I called, they were very polite and helpful (turns out, I left my things at the hotel). The restroom was modern and very clean.
