It's been a year since I last visited this place. Normally, there's a long line during lunchtime, but on this day, surprisingly, there were empty seats even though it was lunchtime. I guess I was just lucky. The seating is limited here. This time, after a long time, I had the sesame tsukemen. Since they moved here in 2019, the price has gone up by 50 yen to 800 yen. But hey, a 50 yen increase is not that bad, right? And you still get a free upgrade to 400g, rice on the side, and a self-service selection of three side dishes. Amazing, right? But 400g of noodles is too much for me, especially with the heavy sesame sauce, so I opted for 300g this time. The rice is delicious, so I couldn't resist having some. They told me the rice was from Yamagata, a variety called Haenuki. While waiting, I enjoyed the side dishes - pickled vegetables, seaweed, and cabbage in vinegar. Just so you know, you buy your meal ticket before lining up, so once you're seated, the service is pretty quick. The tsukemen arrived, and it looked good, but the sesame sauce was quite thick with a generous amount of pork slices and a whole egg sunk in it. And the portion of noodles was more than I expected. I'm glad I didn't go for the 400g, as it would have definitely affected my afternoon! Those who can handle 400g are getting a great deal. Of course, the homemade chili oil on the table is delicious, so I added it to the sesame sauce early on to make it more like tantan tsukemen. I enjoyed it with the pickled vegetables and cabbage, and the rice went down smoothly. Personally, I prefer the noodles a bit firmer. I really liked their curry ramen as a special dish last time, so I would be happy if they added it to the regular menu as a tsukemen option. Once again, I left feeling full and satisfied!
