I had always wanted to visit this restaurant. However, it was far away and not child-friendly (children are not allowed), so I didn't have the opportunity. Finally, my wish came true with my first visit in April 2023. I arrived a few minutes before 11:00, thinking it was the opening time, but the restaurant was already full, with a line forming on the stairs. It seemed they opened earlier since a customer left saying "Thank you for the meal" around 11:00. The latest menu and business hours information is notified on the restaurant's Twitter and Instagram. Although I checked both, it didn't mention an earlier opening time before 11:00. They might decide to open earlier when there's a long line. There are several menu options, and three limited quantities for the "Today's Curry": 1) Deluxe Curry: 1250 yen (with pork cutlet, shrimp fry, and hamo fry from Hyogo Prefecture, with organic vegetables for 1400 yen), 2) Seafood Curry: 1150 yen (with shrimp fry, hamo fry from Hyogo Prefecture, and organic vegetables), 3) Melting A4 Wagyu Beef Curry: 1350 yen (with organic vegetables for 1500 yen, with Japanese pepper for an additional 100 yen). Based on Twitter, the hamo fry in options 1 and 2, and option 3 are likely rotated weekly. Besides the stairs, there were four waiting seats inside the restaurant. The first and second groups of waiting customers were handed the menu and asked for their orders. When ordering curry, you can choose the rice portion and spiciness level. Choosing a small portion comes with a mini salad, while a large portion incurs an additional charge. They sometimes have a special portion called "extra-large," but it wasn't available that day. The spiciness level ranges from very spicy to slightly spicy, medium spicy, and mild. The recommended choice is medium spicy. Even the mild option is not overly sweet but still has a good amount of spices. There were utensils on the table, but no paper napkins or wet wipes. They served water and a mini salad, followed by the curry after a short wait. The Deluxe Curry with organic vegetables in a small portion (with salad) was slightly spicy and beautifully presented. The curry, rice, and ingredients were all delicious. The owner, who is a certified wine sommelier, mixes wine into both the curry and rice. The rice used is said to be from Yagame Gihei in Gion. The pork cutlet, shrimp fry, and hamo fry were all crispy and juicy. The variety of organic vegetables added a nice texture and were a great topping choice. For me, the rice portion and spiciness level were perfect! The Blueberry Juice for 300 yen had a deep color but was refreshing! Since the curry was heavily spiced, the curry flavor lingered in the mouth even after drinking it. There was no straw, and with large ice cubes, it was a bit hard to drink towards the end (imagine tipping the glass and the ice cubes coming towards you all at once). My husband had the Melting A4 Wagyu Beef Curry with a large rice portion and medium spiciness. I tried a bit of the curry, and indeed, it had a spicy kick to it, fitting the "medium spicy" description. After leaving, he said, "The Wagyu beef melted so nicely... It was so delicious that I couldn't help but have it all to myself. The curry was great, and even with extra rice, it was still good." Checking Twitter later that day, they tweeted around 1:30 p.m. that they were sold out. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to visit again!
