Personally, I think the cheese balls here are the most delicious in Shin-Okubo. The crispy texture on the first bite is amazing. It's impressive every time. It's nice that there's no cover charge or seating fee. The interior is full of blue and pink neon lights, creating a cute atmosphere. It's about a 30-minute wait, but you can give your phone number and name to the staff and they'll call you when your table is ready. In the meantime, you can browse Korean cosmetics, which is quite convenient.

I visited without a reservation! It was Monday night, so we were able to get in without a reservation. About half of the seats were taken. There were 3 of us, so we ordered the Cheese Samgyeopsal set for 3 people, Honey Cheese Jeon, Cheese Kimbap, and Kimchi Stew! We also ordered Cheese Balls as an extra! When going with just girls, I thought the portion was quite large... So, for 3 people, it might have been better to order 2 servings of Samgyeopsal and other a la carte dishes! It was quite rich, so I recommend choosing something refreshing with the Cheese Samgyeopsal set!

Once seated and ordered, a salad was served right away. They promptly cleared plates before the next dish arrived. I ordered the Cheese Yangnyeom Samgyeopsal set, which came with seafood pancake and kimchi stew. The staff torched the cheese on the samgyeopsal right at the table, creating a wonderful aroma. The hot meats were wrapped in lettuce and delicious. The seafood pancake was light and the kimchi stew had a nice kick to it. The staff and atmosphere were friendly, and even if you're not into K-pop, you can still enjoy the experience. The prices were reasonable for a tourist area, and I definitely want to go back again!

I had been curious about Pane Chicken for a while, so I went to try it out with a junior colleague on our day off @Shin-Okubo♪ It was a Sunday, so the streets were packed with people, and the restaurant had a wait time of 1 hour as expected... But luckily, we didn't have to wait on the spot. We just wrote down our number and they would call us when our table was ready, so we took a stroll around Shin-Okubo while waiting (I'm not good at waiting, so I was actually happy about this haha). The interior of the restaurant was small with a counter and 4 tables, and there was a constant live video of Korean performers playing on the TV. It was mostly young girls, so as a guy in his 30s, it was a bit nerve-wracking haha. We ordered two servings of Pane Chicken right away. And since I like Sundubu, I also ordered that. The Pane Chicken comes with a salad and potatoes as a set. The salad was just a regular salad, and the potatoes were covered in plenty of cheese, with a sweet flavor that girls would probably like. And then, the Pane Chicken arrived (^q^) The "Pane" in Pane Chicken apparently means bucket. Inside the bucket, there's cheese, and the base is a tomato cream-like sauce. It's a simple dish with the bucket, chicken fritters, and that's it. As we were waiting, a handsome guy came over and generously poured a white cheese waterfall over the bucket. This is what they call "Instagrammable"! (I didn't take a video though) Since the cheese hardens quickly, make sure to eat it while it's hot but be careful not to burn yourself haha As for the taste, it was not surprising but not disappointing either. I think there's probably no one who would dislike it. If you can imagine a classic bucket pizza, that's the vibe. The chicken is also simple with no unnecessary seasonings, so it's a universally appealing taste, and I personally liked it (^q^) By the way, even though we ordered for two, the bucket is quite filling, so be careful not to overeat. The Sundubu was slightly bland, the pancake was also delicious, and the seaweed rolls were one of the best in Shin-Okubo. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was like a cafe, with only women in their early 20s. There were two TVs showing live performances of Korean artists. Men other than couples and women over the age of 30 might feel a bit hesitant. The staff consisted of two people, one Korean and one Japanese. The Japanese staff, a blond guy, was a smooth-skinned handsome man who could easily be in Johnny's. Young women might find it worth just looking at him.
