Recommended soba restaurant that offers a variety of dishes from appetizers to hot pot and a satisfying finish. For some reason, I ended up with a katsudon as my final dish, along with some shared soba. Everything was delicious, so I want to go back again. Looking forward to trying the duck and green onion hot pot next time!

Ramen shop in Roppongi. Visited during lunchtime. ~Order~ Morisoba 770 yen Thinly cut Ni-hachi soba with strong texture. It should have a good aroma, but I couldn't taste it at all due to hay fever on that day. The dipping sauce was slightly sweet and spicy. Personally, I would have preferred it a bit spicier, but it might be because of the hay fever. Finally, I had some soba-yu and finished my meal. ~Summary~ I liked the thickness and texture of the soba noodles, as well as the taste of the dipping sauce. Everything was close to my preference. It would have been even more delicious if it weren't for the hay fever. I would like to visit again soon. Thank you for the meal.

The place is around Rokumonmatsu. It was about a three-minute walk from Umekoen Ichicho bus stop. The counter and raised seating area could accommodate around 15 people. It was operated by 3 or 4 people. In Kyushu, you often see retail store employees with rough movements (mostly young men), but here they were very polite and considerate. The lineup of Japanese sake was good. I thought the prices of alcohol, including beer, were high. I drank a little too much today and I'm amazed at how humans (myself) never seem to learn, but oh well, that's part of the job. The food was not bad. The rolled omelette had a natural egg flavor, which was good. The pickles, such as pickled radish and pickled turnip greens, had a slightly commercial feel, but it was within acceptable limits. The soba miso soup was on the sweet side. I thought the flavor and sweetness of the bean miso were good, but there was a slight unnatural sweetness. The problem was with the soba, first of all, the dipping sauce tasted unnatural. There was an impure sweetness and flavor. The noodles, for this time of year, lacked aroma, but the slurping sensation was not bad. If these were hand-made soba noodles, I didn't think the aroma and flavor were up to par. I often see this kind of soba shop or izakaya. I guess it's a case where the motivation for opening the shop is fundamentally different from the pursuit of soba or as an extension of a hobby. While it's fine to dig up needs, I can't help but feel skeptical about shops of this kind of format and quality. I won't forget the words of Tomosuke Yudako. A shop that considers the health of the people who eat there. The tempura rice bowl, on the first bite, felt light with no greasiness, which was good, but then it hit heavily like a body blow. The oil itself also felt somehow impure. I don't know if it's cottonseed oil or rice oil, but I thought the oil at a soba shop should be sesame oil. There are sesame oils that are not roasted and not fragrant, but this oil felt different from both of those.

I visited the restaurant around 11:30 on Saturday afternoon. We parked at a nearby coin parking lot. Inside the restaurant, we were seated at the counter and served soba tea while placing our orders. I had the soba lunch set, while my husband ordered cold sake with pickled mackerel, fried oysters, and duck stew. The lunch set included tempura, rolled omelette, inari sushi, simmered dish, and salad, along with warm soba noodles. The soba noodles were delicious and had a great texture. The tempura was crispy and the fried soba noodles on top of the salad were a nice touch. There were also other lunch sets available with rice bowls. My husband enjoyed his sake with the appetizers. The fried oysters were crispy and tasty. He finished with a soba noodles dish. The presentation was lovely, and we had a wonderful time enjoying various dishes for lunch. Thank you for a great experience. We will definitely visit again.

A soba restaurant in Rokubonmatsu. They have a variety of menu items besides soba. The Japanese salad with fried soba was good. I tried the duck soba, which had a lot of duck meat in a sweet and savory dipping sauce that was unique. They also have other side dishes and shabu-shabu, so I would like to try those next time.

On this day, I had lunch nearby but found it a bit unsatisfying, so I decided to revisit this place where I have been many times before to satisfy my heart and stomach. During lunchtime, the ladies at the table next to me ordered lunch sets, but as it was my second stop for lunch, I wanted to indulge in some soba, so I ordered the zaru soba. A huge plate of soba arrived with nori, salt, green onions, grated daikon radish, and wasabi on the side to complement the soba. These condiments really did a great job enhancing the flavors! The soba had a wonderful aroma, was perfectly chilled, and had a great texture. I tried various combinations with the salt and wasabi, green onions and wasabi, dipping sauce and wasabi, dipping sauce and grated daikon radish, and before I knew it, the soba had disappeared. I thought to myself that I would definitely come back again as I enjoyed the soba soup as well!

I was actually planning to go to a different restaurant, but it seemed like something happened because it didn't open even after the opening time, so I ended up coming here. I had to wait outside in the heat for over 30 minutes. The restaurant quickly became full after we entered, and there were people waiting. I ordered the tempura soba, and my partner ordered the lunch set meal. The food was served promptly. The soba was decently delicious, but the tempura was the highlight. It had a crispy coating instead of the usual soft one you find in soba restaurants. The service was very polite and attentive.

Mainly, it's been a while since I went out drinking and exploring new places. I had been thinking about trying out a soba restaurant for a while, and this time I chose "Soba Wa" in Hatsumoto. When it comes to restaurants in Hatsumoto, I tend to look around a lot. The counter has 6 seats, and there are 2 tables. The capacity is around 20 people, creating a calm atmosphere. I ordered the "tori-wasa" dish! I was so excited that I didn't pay much attention to the menu, so when the staff asked me if I wanted it with wasabi soy sauce or as plain sashimi, I hesitated for a few minutes trying to decide. Eventually, I chose to have it as plain sashimi for my first time there. Next, the tori-wasa dish arrived! Wow, it looks amazing! The color is more pinkish than red, indicating its freshness. There are 12 pieces, which is quite generous. The slices are thick and seem to be boiled just right, maintaining a moist texture. The garnish is daikon, not radish. The soy sauce is dark and glossy, probably a type of sashimi soy sauce or homemade. It has a sweet aroma. Now, it's time to taste it! First, I tried it plain. The texture is incredible, with a tender bite and a hint of sweetness from the meat. It feels like I'm enjoying raw meat in the best way possible. Next, I dipped it in the soy sauce. The sauce has a thick consistency, slightly sweeter than Kyushu soy sauce. It has a depth of flavor, possibly from kombu or soybeans. It complements the meat well, enhancing its sweetness. The soy sauce doesn't leave a lingering taste in the mouth, providing a refreshing experience. I also tried dipping it heavily in wasabi, and it was delicious! The combination of the sweet soy sauce, spicy wasabi, and succulent meat was perfect. The freshness of the meat and the overall balance made it easy to enjoy several pieces in a row. It paired well with beer or sake. In conclusion, the tori-wasa dish at Soba Wa in Hatsumoto is a must-try! It's a great choice for a relaxing evening of savoring delicious food and drinks. This summer may be different, but enjoying good company and tasty dishes in a serene setting is still a wonderful experience. Make sure to visit Soba Wa and order the tori-wasa dish for a delightful culinary adventure!

I went after a long time. I had peeked in a few times, but the counter was always full during lunchtime so the timing never worked out. Today I had the Inari (warm soba served after) and fried horse mackerel. I also had a highball and a 1-go of Sanchomori. Thank you for the meal.

I visited to try the famous Inaniwa soba in Yamagata. You can order 2 servings starting from 1800 yen. The light broth with a strong aroma pairs perfectly with the richly scented soba noodles. Many people were drinking during lunch, so I felt like having some alcohol too. The menu offers dishes that go well with sake, with small portions perfect for drinking. The presentation is also well done. I definitely want to come back next time for a drink.

On this day, it was drizzling, and while thinking about having lunch somewhere, I happened to come across this place. They have a variety of a la carte menu items, but I was intrigued by the limited 30 servings set. When I asked, they said they still had some available. ^^ There is a set for 1320 yen which includes a mini bowl, but I opted for the 1100 yen (tax included) set without the mini bowl as it seemed like too much. The portion was quite generous. The dishes seemed perfect for a casual drink, although I didn't have any alcohol. (^0^;) The set included tempura, rolled omelette, inari sushi, yuba (tofu skin), salad, and more, which was just right for me. The tempura consisted of shrimp and green pepper among other things and was delicious. The yuba had a nice flavor, and I particularly enjoyed the rolled omelette from the soba shop. The salad had fried soba noodles in it, and there was also inari sushi. The soba noodles had a decent portion size and tasted average. I preferred the small dishes in the set over the soba noodles. Overall, this set felt like a good deal.

Located in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, 4-chome, Rokumonsuji, just a 5-minute walk from Rokumonsu Station on the subway! This place opened in 2008 and is a popular soba restaurant that comes up when searching for "Lunch * Rokumonsu". The restaurant is situated on the first floor of a residential area off the main street. Inside, there are counter seats and table seats, creating a cozy izakaya-like atmosphere. I ordered the "Katsudon" with a side of soba for an additional 300 yen. First, I tried the soba, and it was delicious! The soba noodles were made from a mix of 20% wheat flour and 80% buckwheat, providing a nice texture and flavor. The soba broth was not too sweet, more like a clear and flavorful Shinshu soba broth, which paired well with the soba noodles. The Katsudon was topped with a rich sauce and beaten egg, with nori and mitsuba garnishing the center. The katsu was tasty and the sweet sauce and egg complemented it perfectly. If you're not picky about your tonkatsu, I highly recommend trying the Katsudon at this soba restaurant. It's a place I would like to visit occasionally. Thank you for the delicious meal. Enjoy Soba Life☆

I have visited a soba restaurant in Roppongi for lunch several times, and this time I decided to revisit for a daytime drinking session. Instead of the lunch set, I ordered individual items this time. There were other customers doing the same - ordering sake, assorted tempura, soba miso, grilled seaweed, dashimaki tamago, and plate soba. The tempura had a variety of seasonal vegetables such as bracken fern, myoga, shrimp, fava beans, green beans, okra, asparagus, shiitake mushrooms, eggplant, and pumpkin. The soba miso had a subtle flavor with the aroma of buckwheat, perfect for sipping little by little. The grilled seaweed was served in a charcoal-fired box, accompanied by stem wasabi that had a sharp kick. The dashimaki tamago was fluffy and juicy, with a satisfying weight. Lastly, the plate soba was quite large, meant for two people. It was served on a large wooden board with condiments like green onions, wasabi, grated daikon, seaweed, and salt. Each pairing with the soba was delicious, but the enticing aroma from the dish was truly captivating. I would love to try the grilled duck meat next time!

In Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, Rokumonsu, there is a soba restaurant called "Soba Wa (Nagomi)". Both mori soba and kake soba are priced at 700 yen. They also offer a lunch set limited to 30 servings, with options like "Kotobuki" for 1000 yen and "Wa" for 1200 yen. This time, I ordered the former. The set includes a small side dish, rolled omelette, shrimp tempura, salad, inari sushi, and soba (kake or mori). I chose mori soba. The salad had fried soba noodles on top. The small side dish was corn mixed with fish paste and fried, placed on top of potato salad. The corn was too sweet, and the fish paste was also sweet, lacking contrast. The rolled omelette was not too sweet, which was good. The inari sushi was moist and well-seasoned. The tempura included shrimp, sweet potato, and green pepper. The shrimp could have used more seasoning to remove the fishy taste, and the batter was too fluffy like a fritter, which I didn't like. As for the soba, it was slightly chewy, and the flavor was mild. The dipping sauce had a strong bonito flavor with a good balance of sweetness and spiciness, although the sweetness felt a bit unfamiliar. Overall, looking at the menu, I found the prices reasonable, and I think this lunch set offers good value for the money.

Donburi and soba! When you order a donburi, the soba lunch set is a great deal. The broth is rich and on the stronger side, in the Kanto style. You also get three side dishes, which is nice. The soba has a good texture, and having tempura on the mini donburi is a nice touch. I had the "Wa" lunch set for 1200 yen and it was satisfying. The fact that there are many elderly customers shows that the quality of the soba is consistent. Soba Wa is located in Fukuoka City, Chuo Rokumonsu. They are open from 11:30-14:30 with irregular holidays, and from 17:00-22:00. Parking is available nearby. Duck soba noodles for 1,300 yen. The broth was slightly thick and coated the noodles well. The duck pieces were plentiful and very delicious! The service was neither good nor bad, just average. The atmosphere was calm as the restaurant is located on the first floor of a building. The customers were mostly older. Recommended for lunch dates or meals with parents.

This is my second visit, and I still love the katsudon here. I ordered the same set meals as last time - soboro don and zaru soba, katsudon and warm soba. The set meals come with soba, donburi, shrimp tempura, and a side dish, making it a great deal. The sweet and savory chicken soboro don is delicious, and the warm soba is good too, but I personally prefer zaru soba for its texture and aroma. The katsudon is also tasty with its rich flavor, probably due to the sauce and dashi in the soba. I can't wait to come back for lunch, but I also want to try their soba and drinks at night!

Located about a 3-minute walk from Rokumonmatsu 421. It's tucked away in a back alley, and despite being a local, I never knew it existed until now. I tried their lunch menu for the first time, "Wanagomi" for 1296 yen. It includes dashimaki tamago (juicy), tempura shrimp (crispy and hot, with a fluffy batter), sesame tofu, Nara pickles (crunchy texture), and a choice of oyakodon or soborodon. The soborodon (served in a small bowl for easy eating) was moist and delicious, with the flavor of dashi soaked in. The soba noodles, either in soup or cold, were made with fresh buckwheat from Hokkaido, and had a satisfyingly firm texture. Rokumonmatsu seems to have many other great restaurants, and "Soba Wa" definitely gives off that vibe.

My wife and I went to Kyu-Kyu Wa for the first time in a while. We started with the sushi set (I had the kake, my wife had the mori), a bottle of beer, a sanzen-mori cold sake, and one fried horse mackerel. Then we added a skate fin, another cold sake, and a hot sake. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The bill was paid by my wife. Thank you for the delicious meal.
