Today is August 1st. Despite the somewhat cool-sounding name "Hazuki," it is actually a scorching hot summer, with sweat dripping just from standing outside. Looking at the weekly weather forecast filled with bright red sun icons, it feels like I might get heatstroke just by looking at it~
Recently, I visited Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk for some errands. From the Fukuoka Urban Expressway near the Momochi exit, you can see the Hilton Fukuoka. What is that drum-like or trumpet-like dome you see from the outside? This is the dome-shaped part that can be seen from the outside. It is a bright and open space with glass roofs and walls that let light shine through. The front desk is also on the same floor, the 4th floor of the hotel.
For lunch that day, I made a reservation at the Chinese restaurant "Bo-Mai-Ro" on the 5th floor of the Hilton. It is located on the floor above, near the glass wall. We were seated at a table with a great view, right by the glass wall. Hilton Fukuoka is designed to resemble a luxury cruise ship, so this room is located at the bow of the ship, the prow. From our table, we could see Nokonoshima, Momochi Beach, NEC, Hitachi, TNC (Television Nishi Nihon), and beyond that, Fukuoka Tower.
We ordered the lunch dim sum course "Yang Guifei." The appetizer consisted of daikon mochi and octopus with spicy salt. The crispy texture and spicy herb salt whetted our appetites. The shrimp with mango sauce was delightful, with the sweet and sour sauce complementing the texture of the shrimp. The snow crab and winter melon soup was delicious. Feeling like we needed more than just dim sum, I ordered the cold sesame tantan noodles (^^ゞ The rich sesame and peanut paste added depth to the dish, and the cold tantan sauce was rich yet refreshing.
Dim sum and dessert were served. They were presented in a basket like an afternoon tea set. In the front were squid jade and shrimp dumplings, and in the back were chicken XO sauce steamed buns and Cantonese shumai. On the top two tiers were an amazing six dessert items... From front to back: sesame dumplings, pineapple jam cookies, sata andagi. Peach tree sap almond jelly, mango pudding, and coconut milk with tapioca. The white peach pudding looked delicious, so I ordered it separately.
I saw a craft tea that I had seen in Taiwan before. When hot water was poured over the round tea balls, they slowly opened up like blooming flowers in water. There was a corner with various Chinese teas. The craft tea we ordered was in the front row, second from the right.
