This is a bakery in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City called Panstock. If you visit Fukuoka, this is a bakery you must visit. They also offer online shopping, which caught my interest. I once ordered the mentaiko (spicy cod roe) baguette online, but unfortunately they only deliver to the Chubu region. Nagano and Niigata are not considered part of the Chubu region, so I was quite disappointed. The nearest station is JR Hakozaki Station, and it's quite a walk from there. The directions are easy to follow, so even non-locals can easily visit. However, the distance feels quite far. But since I came all the way here, I wanted to visit this place. They accept Cool Takkyubin (cool delivery service) for the items purchased in the store. While many shops offer online shopping, it's rare to find a place that also accepts home delivery in-store. I made some purchases: - Mentaiko Baguette - Fig and Muscat Levain - Earl Grey and White Chocolate - Kabuse Tea and White Chocolate - Feel Lemon - Cocoa Chocolat - Cranberry, Prune, Currant Levain - Kibic - Melon Pan Parigot - Anpan The Mentaiko Baguette is a must-try. It's a large size with a unique shape and a burnt crust. The texture is not as hard as it looks, with a moist and chewy interior. The mentaiko cream inside is delicious, not too salty, and has a nice umami flavor. The Kibic is a cream bun with a gentle color and a soft texture, filled with custard cream with a strong egg flavor. The Anpan is filled generously with sweet red bean paste with a nice grainy texture and a subtle sweetness. The Melon Pan Parigot has a crispy cookie crust and a mild sweetness. The Fig and Muscat Levain is a hard bread with a rich flavor of dried fruits. The Earl Grey and White Chocolate bread is soft and chewy with a subtle tea flavor and a creamy white chocolate filling. Overall, the breads are delicious and worth trying.

Takeout menu: Mentai France 440 yen (tax included) - A popular item using plenty of homemade raw mentaiko paste. Fragrant Salt Bread 110 yen (tax included) - Sweet and salty salt bread wrapped in sugar-coated rice crackers, with a chewy and sweet dough. Sausage and Avocado Pita 350 yen (tax included) - The spicy salsa sauce was the highlight. Condensed Milk Roll 190 yen (tax included) - A chewy and sweet roll bread with condensed milk butter sandwiched inside and topped with granulated sugar. I arrived at 10:50 and the store opened at 11:30. It's recommended to go early when they open. Thank you for the meal. Thank you, Panstock!

About a 15-minute walk north from JR Hakozaki Station in Fukuoka Prefecture, you'll find "Panstock," a bakery that has been selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in Japan for 5 consecutive periods. The bakery is located in a place that feels quite far, especially on a hot sunny day. The bakery is filled with high-quality bread that looks very appealing. When I visited on a Saturday around 3 pm, the parking lot was quite full, and there was even a guard stationed there. Inside the bakery, customers were walking in a single file, carefully examining the bread with serious expressions. I chose the "Classic Melon Pan" and the "Sesame Bread." The Classic Melon Pan had a slightly crispy top and a soft inside, with a unique flavor that I found a bit different. The Sesame Bread was soft and had a distinct black sesame flavor, but it didn't stand out as much as I had hoped. Overall, I didn't find the bread to be exceptional, but it was still good. The bakery has a wide variety of bread to choose from, so you're likely to find something you like. I would like to visit again and take my time to explore more. If you ever visit Fukuoka, consider stopping by Panstock in Hakozaki. [Foodie Rating: 3.71 at the time of visit]

It's been a while since my last visit. The reason I haven't visited for a long time is because every time I go, it's always crowded and parking is a hassle. I visited on a Sunday afternoon. Many bakeries sell out by lunchtime after baking bread in the morning, but this bakery stands out because they keep bringing out freshly baked bread in the afternoon. Also, with a branch opening in Tenjin, the customers may have been somewhat dispersed. I was able to park my car in the parking lot in front of the store and enter without waiting in line. The bread named after the shop is perfect for a meal.

A bakery with a crazy long line. You can order by phone, but you have to wait in line to enter the shop. I've tried mentaiko bread from various bakeries, but I like this one because it has a simple yet deep flavor. It goes well with alcohol. I usually went to the shop in the evening, so I hadn't seen egg bread before, but it was delicious. It had not only eggs but also melty cheese. The apple pie was filled with lots of apples. I will definitely visit again.

The bakery, which is popular and always has long lines on weekends and weekdays, offers a variety of delicious items such as Mentaiko France, Premium Melon Pan, Canele, and Cocoa de Chocolat. I always buy my favorites, Earl Grey and White Chocolate, and Cocoa de Chocolat. This time, they had a new item made with tea from Shiga Prefecture called "Kabuse Tea and Chocolate", so I bought three items to compare. The colorful deli bread and Canele were all delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ☺️

Dream-like pantry ☆ The appearance is beautiful, the taste is delicious, and the display inside the store is also very lovely. The variety of products is abundant, and even though I was on a trip, I got so excited that I ended up buying too much (^_^;) However, everything was delicious, and I regret not buying more scones with a longer shelf life as souvenirs. The scones with dried fruits were rustic and crunchy, with a rich flavor that I really enjoyed. If I have the chance, I would love to visit again.

If you come to Kyushu, I definitely wanted to visit here. I also have the Pan Stock cookbook. Of course, even if I make bread according to the recipes in this book, I can't do it well. I was told that I could make a reservation by phone, so I ordered Pan Stock, Mentaiko France, and Kibikku before closing. There are parking lots up to the second one and they are spacious. However, if a lot of customers come, will it be not enough? No one is parked in the parking lot. Why? I understood after reading the sign. It was sold out. The staff said it was sold out by 3:30 pm. I'm glad I made a reservation. Thank you, God! I also received two cream puffs as a bonus. What a day!!! I will reheat and eat them the next morning. I heard that Mentaiko France and Pan Stock are famous breads. Full of mentaiko, it goes well with the bread dough. Without a doubt, the best Mentaiko France I have ever eaten. The cream puff from Kibikku was reheated too much. For this type of bread, you have to eat it on the same day! Pan Stock is amazing. Delicious. Although it looks chunky, the crust is thin and the dough is chewy. It's the best. It's a hard bread that even Japanese people can eat easily. I'm glad I came. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I was able to purchase the popular mentaiko France for 440 yen at Pan WEST 2022's top 100 bakery. Even though it wasn't displayed at the counter, I asked about it and was told to request it at the counter. It was delicious, and there was a good amount of it. I enjoyed the olive bread and tomato bread as well. The location of this shop holds special memories for me, as I used to live nearby when I was a graduate student 30 years ago. It was a small room with shared facilities, but it was a fun time. My alma mater has since moved to a different location, but walking from Hakozaki Kyudai-mae Station, I was able to see the redevelopment of the old school building along the way. I have attached a photo of the old school building for reference.

Exciting atmosphere in a stylish interior. There are many hard breads, but there are also soft savory breads and sweet breads. The chocolate bread is delicious! The mentaiko baguette, which had high expectations from reviews, was beyond imagination and impressive. Crispy and fluffy, and the mentaiko filling was the best I've ever had!

◉Genre: Bakery ◉Area: Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, Hakozaki area ◉Access: 5 minutes by car from JR Hakozaki Station ◉Parking: Available ◉Credit card payment: Accepted ◉Number of visits: 2nd time ◉Number of reviews: 1st time On this day, I casually stopped by "Panstock." ◇Exterior and Interior This bakery is located in Hakozaki, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City. It has been recognized as one of the top 100 bakeries on Tabelog, and is a well-known establishment in Fukuoka. The exterior is appealing, and the interior features a variety of hard breads neatly displayed, along with dried flowers, creating a sort of amusement park atmosphere. However, the focus is not just on appearance; the layout is well thought out, with efforts made to alleviate congestion and pressure. ◇No seating available. ◇Menu Composition The main focus is on hard bread. The items I ordered are as follows: - Mentaiko France (475 yen) → Tax inclusive price When it comes to Panstock, Mentaiko France is the go-to choice. It is likely the most popular item, with outstanding recognition. Personally, I have received it as a souvenir many times, and while it is often purchased in Tenjin, it is needless to say that this store is the main branch. Sateoki. As for what makes this Mentaiko France delicious, it is simply the bread itself. It is common sense for a good bakery, but as an amateur, I still don't understand why it is so different. Of course, it is hard, but the more you chew, the more flavor you taste, and the unique texture that is not modern is also characteristic. It could be described as an old standard, but I'll just enjoy its deliciousness without overthinking it. ◆Strong Points You can indulge in the highest quality of hard bread! ◆Service Average. ◆Summary Although I have visited the Tenjin branch more frequently, it's always good to stop by the main branch. Now, I will head back to Kitakyushu! Thank you for the meal! ^ ^

I finished my errands quickly, so I headed to Hakozaki for the first time in a while. Since I was short on time, I only bought two items today: a simple honey bread for 110 yen and a cassata topping for 150 yen. I also got a bread with corn, which I love, for 500 yen. The total came to 820 yen. It was a scorching hot day around 2 pm, but I was able to park easily and there wasn't a long line inside the store. The cassata had a rich and creamy flavor.

After having lunch at "Sushi Sakai," I still had some time before checking into the hotel, so I headed to Hakozaki. Yes, I had been here last year and was determined to revisit this place, "Pan Stock." There is also a branch near "Sakai," but I preferred the atmosphere of the main store, so I came back here. I walked about 10 minutes north along the railway tracks from Hakozaki Station in the hot weather and arrived. There was no line outside, so I entered immediately. However, inside, there was a circle of people. And as soon as you enter, you can see the workshop on the right. The smell of freshly baked bread is so nice because bread is always being baked. Next thing you notice is the lineup of bread in an arc. The sight of delicious bread lined up here is exciting and gets your spirits up. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the register because of the line of customers, but it's not a difficult wait at all. Well, the difficult part is that there are too many breads I want to eat, and the tray keeps filling up. A really wonderful layout. After picking up Cream Cheese and Bacon Sauté Walnut Bread, Pate de Campagne, Premium Kibic, and Canele while walking around, I went to pay. At the register, they were serving the famous Mentaiko France of this shop. The staff will ask you if you want to buy it. I didn't buy it for some reason last time, but this time I bought it without fail. The staff's service is also polite. In total, it was 1,938 yen~ I paid in cash and returned to the station after purchasing. I returned to Nishi-Nakasu and checked into the hotel. Since there was still time until dinner, and I couldn't resist, I devoured the Mentaiko France! The surface is crispy, and when you bite into it, the chewy baguette is delicious. Inside, there is a strong presence of mentaiko paste. The contrast between the hard outer part where you can enjoy the hard bread and the soft and moist texture of the central part is artistic. The deliciousness lives up to the rumors. A perfect rating. In any case, I'm glad I was able to achieve revenge from last year~ The next day, I had the remaining Mentaiko France for breakfast and as a snack. The Premium Kibic is an upgraded version of the Kibic I ate last year. Kibic was in a seashell shape, but the Premium is in a round shape. By the way, what is Kibic?! It's a cream bread in the style of Pan Stock. The normal one had a chewy dough, but this one has a moist brioche dough that melts away. It has an airy yet chewy feeling, and it's a strange sensation that's hard to describe. The cream is not too sweet, which is nice. Pate de Campagne is as the name suggests, with a big country-style pate in the middle. A clever double meaning of sandwiching the country pate with country bread. It's very meaty, almost like a meal. Therefore, the price is a bit high. If it were a bit cheaper, this would also be a top-tier item. Next is the Canele. This was the one I reluctantly gave up on last year. The crispy surface allows the rum to soak in nicely, but the chewy texture is not lost, making it a perfect example of a Canele. The cross-section is also uniform and beautiful. This is another item that should be repurchased. Finally, the Cream Cheese and Bacon Sauté Walnut Bread. The name of the bread explains everything, but it has a nice fragrance of bacon and plenty of cheese. Considering the price of the Pate de Campagne earlier, this one is surprisingly under 300 yen. Once again, the taste ===========

The share cycle in Hakata is expensive and hard to compete with, so I first took the subway to Hakozaki Kyudai-mae and then used the share cycle. I arrived around 10:00 and there were about 5 people in line. The store opened quickly and I chose the recommended mentaiko France mini. I paid 248 yen with PayPay and had it outside as a breakfast substitute. The mentaiko was cold and not very good, although the spicy taste was good. I couldn't get used to the hardness of this French bread, so let's move on to the next place. After visiting all the top 100 bread shops in Fukuoka Prefecture for PanWEST 2022, I gave the highest score (3.6 points) to Shiroya Bakery Kokura Store. This was the 97th shop I visited, but as I've mentioned before, completing all of them is impossible.

I revisited Panstock, where I had to give up last Sunday around 12 o'clock due to a line of over 30 people! [Shop Memo] ◆ Fukuoka Ichino Bakery. The Kyoto bread shops such as Pan Hyakumeiten Five Brand, Amamudakotan, and Dakomekka are all from Panstock. Cream bread with the same name is also available. ◆ Arrived on a weekday at 09:57 (3 minutes before opening) and was second in line. Luckily, there was no line because it had just stopped raining. Customers started arriving one after another as soon as the store opened. [Items received] ◆ Mentaiko France ⭐︎3.5 The crust is crispy and the crumb is firm. There is a richness that comes from the fat content. The plenty of mentaiko gives a soft and crunchy texture, and the fish roe is fluffy! It's amazing, isn't it? It's like a luxury product!? This is a recommended item here, and you purchase it at the register without waiting in line. ◆ Earl Grey and White Chocolate ⭐︎4.1 Got it freshly baked! I will eat it right after leaving the store! Wow, the texture of the dough is soft and fluffy. The burnt parts and baked white chocolate create a crunchy texture with a change in texture. And the Earl Grey that bursts out in your nose. After all, there is no snack that can beat freshly baked bread! ◆ Fig and Muscat Levain 1/2 310 yen ⭐︎4.2 + CP 0.5 High hydration - lots of filling, too much. The seeds of the figs pop, and the sweet and sour taste bursts out. This is too cheap... ◆ Avocado Tartine 330 yen ⭐︎3.5 + CP 0.5 It looks salty at first, but the avocado is smooth - the meat is tender - the baguette dough is crispy - if the baguette dough were a little thicker, it would be perfect♡ ◆ Kibikku 180 yen 3.8 + CP 0.5 Cream bread with a shell mark. The bread dough is high hydration and fluffy, and the cream is thick and creamy. Perfect for a snack after a meal! ◆ Pistachio Condensed Milk 210 yen ⭐︎3.9 Fluffy dough with a nutty texture, sweet cream - delicious! ◆ Shrimp and Avocado Burger 450 yen Plenty of avocado. The fluffy and elastic sandwich bread is fluffy, but it may be a miracle that the sauce has not soaked into the bread. The tomato is also sweet and delicious. [Other] ◆ Bread review 176th store ◆ Prices include tax.

I visited Panstock, a famous bakery known for its wide variety of bread. The parking lot is very spacious with a security guard on duty. I couldn't find the popular mentai France bread (around 400 yen) on display, but I learned that you can order it at the register. I purchased a salt bread (110 yen) and a cream bread (180 yen) instead. There were many types of bread available, but none that immediately caught my eye. The mentai France bread was not too spicy and had a good flavor, making it a great souvenir option. The other breads seemed a bit too plain for my taste. I noticed that the breads were not individually labeled on the receipt, which made me feel like there was a lack of attachment to the products. It felt like a theme park filled with bread, but I wish they would focus more on specializations and unique flavors.

I used it when I traveled to Fukuoka. I used it for snacks and breakfast the next day. The appearance is very stylish. The inside was even more fashionable. I bought raw donuts, Earl Grey and white chocolate, curry bread, and caramel nuts. The raw donuts were amazingly delicious. The texture and elegant taste surprised me, a frequent donut eater. The balance of the other breads is also elegant. Please go there!

This day was a Sunday in Fukuoka. I had a work site inspection the day before, so I stayed in Fukuoka overnight. I thought about going to the tonkatsu hundred famous stores stamp rally in Kumamoto, but since I wanted to also get stamps at the Western food hundred famous store, Yamashita, I made a reservation but the seats were fully booked, so I had to give up early in the morning. Maybe next time...orz So, I had some free time and first went to Pan Stock in Nakasu, Tenjin. Even though it's not a very big store, there was a crazy long line... I also went to I'm donut? in Tenjin Minami out of curiosity...oh my, the line was unbelievably long... It was too much. The level of waiting in line just to kill time was not worth it. So, I decided to visit the main store of Pan Stock in Hakozaki. I took the Kagoshima Main Line from Hakata Station and got off at Hakozaki Station, about a 10-minute walk from the station. I arrived at the store in Hakozaki around 12 o'clock on Sunday. There were about 20 people waiting in line. The turnover was fast and the line moved quickly. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I entered the store. It was much faster than I expected. The feel of the fixtures in the store and the staff were similar to the Five Branch store in Kyoto! While moving around the fixtures in line, I picked up bread on a tray. The famous mentaiko France is apparently requested and purchased at the register. It felt like an amusement park for bread! As I moved forward, I got excited about which ones to buy... It's like a trap set by the store, haha. I bought the following: - Mentaiko France: I bought this as a souvenir for myself to take home. The mentaiko France was overwhelmingly delicious! The baguette dough and mentaiko were a perfect match. It was so delicious. I will buy it again. - Walnut and Raisin Levain Petit: I also bought this as a souvenir for myself to take home. The outside was firm and the inside was soft. It had plenty of walnuts and raisins and was super delicious. - Quattro France: I bought this because I could get it freshly baked. I had a picnic lunch in a park nearby. It uses four types of cheese - brie, blue cheese, gruyere, and red cheddar - on baguette dough. It was creamy and delicious, with the baguette dough being soft and amazing. - Premium Kibic: I also had this in the park. It's an evolved version of the seashell-shaped cream puff called Kibic (they also sell it here), made with pumpkin puree in brioche dough. It was incredibly soft and fluffy. It was the best cream puff I've ever had! - Pistachio Escargot: I also had this in the park. It's a pastry made with pistachio almond, raspberry, blueberry, and pistachio rolled in Danish dough. The fragrant pistachio almond, raspberry, and blueberry acidity complemented each other well. It was a perfect day with great weather! It was the best bakery for my taste. I would love to visit again if I have the chance, but it's a bit difficult to get to... Thank you for the meal!

I went for a walk and visited a bakery for the first time. It was just before noon on a Sunday, so the parking lot was full! I definitely want to go back again!

I arrived early and made a reservation at a popular yakiniku restaurant nearby. I decided to visit this place after a long time. Since it was early evening, I thought there wouldn't be many people, and I was able to get in without waiting in line. I also bought some mentaiko France at the register, but I didn't take any photos inside the store. The items I got were mentaiko France, brioche chocolate terrine, homemade rillettes with country bread, mozzarella tomato, Italian bounty, organic sesame roll. There were also beets and onions on a tray that I didn't notice the name of.
