On Friday around 2 pm, I saw that there was no line while driving to work! I thought this was a chance, so I went inside without waiting in line. At first, there were only about 20% of customers, but by the time I paid, it was about 80%! A friend who had been there before warned me that there is usually a line of over an hour, so I had been avoiding it, but this time I got lucky! The bread I purchased includes: 1) Thick Omelette Sandwich 2) Fresh Donuts 3) Mentaiko Peperoncino Baguette 4) Sweet Bean Paste & Condensed Milk Butter 5) Fresh Custard Donuts 6) Matcha Sweet Bean Paste Cream Donuts. These breads made for a luxurious dinner! The Thick Omelette Sandwich was incredibly delicious! The sweet omelette was packed inside, and the mayonnaise on the side was a nice touch! Next, the donuts were amazing! The Fresh Donuts and Fresh Custard Donuts were extremely delicious! They were fluffy, soft, and moist, with a slightly oily texture that was just perfect! The Matcha Sweet Bean Paste Cream Donut was also delicious! The Mentaiko Peperoncino Baguette, made with French bread, had a crispy texture, and the harmony of mentaiko and butter was irresistible! Even though it had cooled down, I toasted it in the oven for about 5 minutes and it was still amazing! The Sweet Bean Paste & Condensed Milk Butter was also tasty, but compared to the other bread and donuts, it fell a bit short. However, it was still good! All the bread and donuts were of high quality and truly impressive! When it comes to donuts, I was previously impressed by "Haritts" in Yoyogi-Uehara, Tokyo, which is ranked number one in the national donut eating log, but this place was just as delicious! The level of the donuts and bread was incredibly high! It's no wonder people are willing to wait over an hour! This is definitely a must-visit shop! Highly recommended! I'm looking forward to trying I'm Donuts in Tenjin too! Thank you for the meal!

After several years, I visited the restaurant again. This time I brought home some raw doughnuts. It must be difficult to adjust the timing to fry them just before they become too hard, but the raw doughnuts lived up to their name. The perfect balance of sugar, doughnut dough flavor, and frying sensation was excellent.

Today, there was no line at the bakery that is usually always crowded, so I jumped right in. I was able to enter without waiting a second. The store was filled with a variety of tempting bread. Since I had just finished eating, I chose a sweet bread. The highlight was the freshly made doughnut with red bean and matcha cream. The dough was chewy, and the inside was filled with sweet and soft cream, topped with matcha. It was a moment of bliss. The other breads were also incredibly delicious, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, it was the best.

"Amam Dacotan" is a collaboration between the popular Italian restaurant "Hirakonche" in Fukuoka and the renowned bakery "Panstock", located in the Roppongi area. The chef, Rota Hirako, is known for his delicious creations. The bakery is also famous for its "I'm donut?" donut specialty store. I visited the bakery for the first time before heading back to Tokyo on a Saturday. I pre-ordered the bread online for pickup at 11 am. Using a car-sharing service near my hotel, I arrived at the bakery. When I called from the car, a staff member brought out my order. I purchased a baguette, spicy mentaiko pasta baguette, long loaf bread, canelé, cream-filled salt bread, Amam Dacotan sausage dog, and 4-cheese and honey croque monsieur. The total came to ¥4,471 with tax. All the bread was delicious, but I highly recommend the Amam Dacotan sausage dog, 4-cheese and honey croque monsieur, and spicy mentaiko pasta baguette.

I arrived at the main store around 10:45 am on a regular day and waited in line for about 30 minutes. I have been to Omotesando a few times before, but the lines were always too long, so I never got to try it. This time, I finally made my debut at Dominique Ansel Bakery! The interior of the store was smaller than I expected, but it was filled with a variety of colorful pastries, making it the most exciting bakery I've ever been to! I was so indecisive about what to choose, haha. Some of the baguettes and other items can be frozen for storage, but I wish all the burgers could be frozen too so I could buy more. I regret not eating the fig maritozzo right away, as it collapsed later (tears). Next time, I plan to enjoy it at the cafe next door.

I visited around 3:30 pm on a weekday and there were only a few breads left. There was a special deal where you could get 2000 yen worth of bread for 1500 yen. I didn't mind as I wanted to try the bread, but if you want more options, it's better to make a reservation or go in the morning.

●Amamudakotan, which always had long lines in Omotesando and I had to give up. The origin is here in Fukuoka, Rokumonmatsu. ●Luckily, I was able to enter without waiting in line. Looking at the poles for lining up outside the store, it seems that it is usually crowded. ●Since I was already full, I ordered Pistachio Condensed Milk Butter Sandwich @260 yen and Fresh Donuts @250 yen as a dessert substitute. There is a sit-in store next to it, so if you order a drink, you can eat there. ●...What is this deliciousness? A sandwich with plenty of pistachio butter. The sweetness is elegant, so there is no heaviness. The butter melts in your mouth. The seasoning is also excellent. ●I was wondering what a fresh donut was, but yes, this is indeed a fresh donut. The surface is crispy, but the inside is moist, or rather, gooey & chewy. I repeat, it was too delicious. ●I didn't know, but there are several stores in Tokyo called "I'm donut?" that serve Amamudakotan's fresh donuts. I'll go there immediately.

Found a notice about the lineup at Amamudakotan. The inside of the shop seems dark, but is it closed? Turns out, the eat-in space is there, and the bakery is 10 meters away. After walking a bit, found a lineup of about 7 people. It might get a bit hot in summer because there's no shade. There's a sign saying, "Maximum of 7 people inside the shop," so counted the number of people inside while waiting. The shop isn't very big, but they have a wide variety of bread. The quality of the bread is evident just by looking at it. Any bread you choose is delicious! Recommended items: Seasonal fruit and gorgonzola cream honey roast, Thick-cut bacon sandwich. There were many different types of sandwiches, and they all looked delicious. It's nice that they are filled with plenty of ingredients.

I visited on a Tuesday. I arrived at 9:30 am as I heard there would be a line, but I was the first one there. By the time the store opened, there were about 7 people in line, but it seems like it's not that crowded on weekdays. The interior of the store is filled with great taste and increases your appetite and desire to buy. There is a café nearby where you can eat in, so I bought food for my family and for myself to eat later, but I ended up buying too much. It came to about 4,200 yen. I moved to the café to eat in. They also had a food menu, so I couldn't resist and ordered a Basque cheesecake. The sausage in the Wiener bread was delicious and firm. The bread was also tasty, but I wanted something a little more punchy. The Basque cheesecake was light and not heavy, and it was delicious. It might be a bit lighter for a Basque cheesecake. I also tried the apple quinoa bun, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. Also, the store staff were quite dry, and since the impression of the staff is important to me, it was a bit disappointing. However, I still want to try I'mdonut.笑

Visited during my homecoming trip. Walked here from Sakurazaka. It was a weekday late morning. There was a wait for 6 people. Waited about 15 minutes to enter.
- Fig Maritozzo 550 yen
- Red bean and pistachio 280 yen
- Prosciutto, Camembert cheese, and tomato sandwich 490 yen
- Thick omelette sandwich 290 yen
- Focaccia 210 yen
They don't provide ice packs for refrigerated items at Amamudakotan, just like in Omotesando. So, on this day, I bought the Maritozzo and planned to eat it at the adjacent Café Dakotan. Even though the Maritozzo boom has passed, it's still available here as it is the birthplace of it! It was my first time having it in a while. The halved fig inside was a nice surprise! However, I got a bit tired of it halfway through.
I reheated the prosciutto and Camembert cheese sandwich and it was delicious! I really like the bread itself. The focaccia was a bit disappointing... The dough was dry and lacked the chewiness I was expecting.

Even though there are only two stores, the Hakata main store and the Harajuku Omotesando store in Tokyo, Amamudakotan has become a nationally known name. The online images of their bread look incredibly delicious and meticulously crafted, so I have always wanted to visit. Finally, I visited the Hakata main store. The store was smaller than I expected, with a narrow interior, but the bread lined up was all from Amamudakotan. I was moved to see the bread I had seen online right in front of me. The staff were also friendly. The price of each bread is a bit high, but there were customers coming in and out. It seemed like regular customers, mainly housewives and families. I felt that they are rooted in the local community. I will definitely go back.

I couldn't muster the energy to wait in line at the trendy bakery in Tokyo, Omotesando, so I couldn't go there. But since I came all the way to Fukuoka, I had to visit the main store! So, I went straight from the airport and arrived at the store first thing in the morning. There wasn't much of a line compared to Tokyo. There was some crowd control, but we were able to enter the store quite smoothly. The exterior and interior of the store had a great atmosphere and were very cute. The staff didn't seem fazed by being photographed at all. The way they arranged and presented the bread was perfect. However, the actual bread...hmm. It didn't taste like delicious bread to me. I'm sorry. It just didn't suit my taste. Thank you for the meal.

The bakery in Ropponmatsu is famous for having long lines, but I was able to enter relatively quickly on this day. If you preorder online, you can purchase without waiting in line. I bought the following items: Croque Madame ¥341, Pistachio Condensed Milk ¥286, Kinako Anko Agepan ¥341, Dakota Burger ¥528, and Donut Cream ¥462. Although a bit pricey, everything was delicious. The Dakota Burger was a bit difficult to eat. The Pistachio Condensed Milk was the best with its elegant sweetness and pistachio flavor. There were many other tasty looking pastries, so I would like to visit again when I go sightseeing in Hakata.

Today was a business trip to Fukuoka. With the meeting scheduled for the afternoon, I finished up some work before checking out of the hotel and decided to grab lunch. I was planning to visit a shop in Ropponmatsu, so I hopped on a bus and just before getting off at Ropponmatsu bus stop, I noticed there was no line at all! I was amazed that I could easily get in on a weekday! It turned out to be Amamudakotan, a bakery that sparked the Maritozzo boom in Japan, with a popular branch in Omotesando, Tokyo. The shop was quite small, offering a variety of deli-style bread with interesting and delicious combinations of ingredients. The atmosphere was very exciting! I learned that I could easily get in on a weekday and decided to come back again. I purchased two items: Plain Maritozzo, which was simply delicious with a light cream that wasn't too sweet, and Cloud Ham Croque Madame, which tasted exactly as expected. There is a cafe next to the shop, where you can bring your purchased bread to enjoy. Next time, I plan to buy more deli-style bread and try them out there.

On a rainy day, surprisingly there was no line at all!! Even on weekdays, the place is usually crowded when the weather is nice, so the morning rain was lucky. They have a wide variety of bread to choose from, which makes it fun to pick. This time, I bought three types of bread!
- Pork tenderloin low-temperature cutlet sandwich (¥637): A sandwich with a large pork cutlet, cooked slowly at a low temperature which makes it incredibly tender. The saltiness is just right, enhancing the flavor of the meat.
- Egg sandwich (¥281): The eggs here have a unique taste. The eggs are cooked and mixed with mayonnaise, creating a flavor that you can't find elsewhere. The deliciousness of the bread and the sweetness of the eggs match perfectly.
- Salt bread with plenty of cream (¥410): When you cut the fluffy bread in half, plenty of cream oozes out. The cream is not too sweet, so it goes really well with the saltiness of the bread. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

When I usually go, it's before evening and there are few types of bread, but today I went before noon so there were so many breads♡ My excitement went up. I could choose this and that, so happy♡ The freshly made donuts limited to one per person were really delicious♪ The bread from Amamudakodan is really delicious♡ I bought a lot but I ate them in no time, haha♡ I used to be able to park in front of the store, but now I can't.

When I came to Fukuoka, I wanted to see Amamudakotan in Roppongi. I visited on a weekday evening and there was almost no line, with most items sold out. Even though I can occasionally buy fresh donuts here, I prefer Dakotan over I'm. Last time, I was captivated by the salt bread at the Omotesando store, and this time I had the salt bread with plenty of cream. It had been a while since I last had it, and it was still delicious beyond my imagination. It seems there is a place near Hakata Station where you can buy it, so thanks to Hirako-san, I am enjoying my trip to Fukuoka. I don't eat bread often, so I really like the deli bread and chewy fresh donuts here. I also want to try the fig maritozzo again... Thank you for the meal!

The deliciousness lived up to the rumors. Each bread had a delicious base dough, which was the best part. The texture was also good. The cream and fillings had a taste that showed attention to detail, and I was very satisfied. I would like to try more varieties. Thanks to lining up before opening, I was able to enter quickly, which was a relief.

On the way back from my trip to Fukuoka, I decided to get some popular pastries to go. I chose a croque monsieur and a mentaiko (spicy cod roe) French bread. The bakery was always crowded with customers, but luckily I was able to enter without much of a wait. I felt like I was in a wonderland of bread because everything looked so delicious. Personally, the mentaiko French bread was a hit - I've never had something so packed with mentaiko before, and the French bread itself was also delicious. I heard they also have a store in Omotesando, Tokyo, and I can see why it's so popular and trendy. Highly recommended.

This is my first visit to a bakery in Ropponmatsu. I heard that their mentaiko (spicy cod roe) France bread is delicious, so I decided to try it. However, it didn't quite match my taste and I was already full, so I decided to pass on it this time. I'll try it next time when I'm hungry. Instead, I bought a yogurt bread, which turned out to be surprisingly delicious! It was a unique idea and tasted really good. I was impressed by how it stood out from the others.

Even after 4 and a half years since opening, this bakery remains popular, with the Tokyo store's popularity only increasing. There is always a line of about 20 people even just before closing, with locals and tourists alike, including some foreigners. The bread looks beautiful and tastes delicious. The "Currant Raisin Salted Butter Sandwich" and "Caramel Nut Espresso Danish Roll" are especially recommended. The viennoiserie and danish pastries are also very tasty! Next time, I want to try their savory bread too!
