Cold weather, cloudy skies, and heading out for work. The nearest station is Tomigahoka, but I got off one stop ahead at Kugayama where the express train stops. Fast. And there's a delicious ramen shop nearby. There are two shops with a rating of 3.5 or higher on Tabelog, but I aim for Menkuma, which is closer to my destination. When I got off at the north exit of the station, the shop was right in front of me. It was around 12:30 pm, and since the rating was high, I thought there might be a line, but that was not the case. I was able to enter smoothly and secure seats at the counter with my companion. Oh, before that, I need to buy a meal ticket. I chose Menkuma without hesitation from the ticket machine in the corner. This shop only has a kitchen and a counter, separated by a hallway. In other words, the counter seats face away from the kitchen. The staff had a nice smile, so ideally I would prefer to face them, but it was unavoidable due to the structure. There were about three people inside. I handed over the meal ticket and sat in front of the wall. There was a luggage rack, but my bag didn't fit, so I placed it sideways next to me. Water is self-service. Surprisingly, there was a wait. As I waited, more and more customers came in. The counter seats, less than 10, were full. It seemed like someone who tried to enter gave up. Maybe they went to the other shop? I didn't know that I had to ask for the small rice service, so I added it later. And then the ramen arrived. It was a small bowl. In addition to the classic chashu and egg, it also had wonton and spinach. The noodles were relatively soft. The soup had a light soy sauce flavor, with a seafood base. Elegant. The rice was slightly soft. It didn't have a strong punch, but it was easy to enjoy elegantly. It warmed my body. Cleaning up the dishes was also self-service. Yeah, that smile was nice. Even though he was a man.
