This is a bagel specialty shop & cafe located in Nokagawa-cho, Chikushi-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture. It may take about an hour by car from the center of Fukuoka City. On this day, after having ramen for lunch at "Ramen Kukai" in the same area, I convinced my colleague to stop by Nanacafe, which had been recommended by a friend. It's a peaceful place, isn't it? The outdoor seating in the garden is natural and lovely. As soon as you enter the shop, you'll see that it's a bagel specialty store. They only sell bagels here. The bagels are baked in a dedicated kiln in the adjacent workshop, with about 200-300 made every day. However, they don't bake on Sundays, so they sell frozen ones from the freezer in the shop. We also got to try some samples. They had organic honey, syrup, and jams that would go well with bagels. Even though we were full from ramen (lol), we decided to have some tea since we were here. There is a cafe space at the back of the shop. The music and acoustics are nice, making it a pleasant place to relax. They have a reasonably priced drink menu. Since we were here, we decided to share one bagel for eating in. The bagel is gently warmed up for you. Today, we tried the Special Smoked Bagel. It has a strong smoky flavor with pancetta and cheese, topped with pumpkin seeds, making it a sophisticated, not-too-sweet bagel for adults. This would definitely go well with alcohol! It's the most popular item at the shop, and it was the last one left! I ordered an iced tea. It was delicious, but I thought maybe I should have gone for the coffee since the owner brews it carefully for each cup. My colleague had the homemade ginger ale. She said it was delicious with a strong ginger flavor. They also have a variety of bagel sandwich options that they make to order after you've placed it. It's a cafe where you can enjoy lunch as well. But, we had ramen earlier (sweat). We were full! So, we got some to go. The plastic bags they provide are completely sealed, so you can freeze them as they are and they'll last for about a month. The types of bagels change daily, but here are some examples for reference. They also post about them on their Facebook page.
