Whenever we come to Fukuoka, we always end up visiting this restaurant. It's been over 10 years since our first visit, and during this time, our taste buds have certainly become more refined. However, no matter how many times we come here, it always receives high praise. It's more of an izakaya where you can also enjoy ramen, and the fish and meat dishes are incredibly delicious. Today, we ordered the sesame amberjack (900 yen), miso hormone (900 yen), and wagyu oxtail ponzu (1800 yen). In other izakayas, when you order a hormone stir-fry dish, they often use pork intestines which can have a slight odor, causing my wife to avoid it. But here, they use fresh beef maruchou, so she happily eats it. Of course, the fresh sesame amberjack is delicious, and the slowly simmered wagyu oxtail is full of flavor. Despite having eaten a full French course meal for lunch, we both devoured everything with a surprising appetite (laughs). And, of course, we finished with ramen as our final dish. Coming from northern Japan, we prefer ramen with a lighter tonkotsu broth like the Nagahama ramen here. We also appreciate the friendly service from all the staff here. Our rating has gone up from 4.0 to 4.3 stars.

Visited the restaurant with one other person. We ordered 4 pork belly skewers, 2 meatballs, 2 chicken tataki ramen, cola, and Calpis, totaling 3800 yen. We went on a Saturday night at midnight and waited for about 30 minutes. Despite the late hour and the location, the popularity of the restaurant was evident from the long line. All the dishes were very delicious! Next time, I want to enjoy some alcohol with some great side dishes. The ramen had a light pork bone flavor and was perfect for finishing off a night of drinking. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to try the food stalls outside, but all the shops were full and I didn't have the courage to go alone, so I looked for a restaurant. In the end, the ramen was delicious, the prices were cheap, and the atmosphere was great, so it was a great choice. If I go to Fukuoka again, I would like to try other menu items.

After visiting "Onokoro Sangou" near Ohori Park, I made sure to visit "Yamachan Tenjin Store" when in Hakata. It's a cozy and welcoming place, almost like a hometown in Hakata. Normally, I would have visited the day after the "Dreams Come True Wonderland (Day 2)" concert, but since it would be crowded with 40,000 people, I decided to go the day before. It was a weekday night, so the restaurant was quite empty. I was greeted warmly and the staff remembered me as a Dreams Come True fan. I ordered a "Imomizu" (sweet potato shochu with water) for 480 yen and chatted with the manager Kazu. Yamachan started as a food stall in Nagahama, and the area has seen a revival with seven new stalls. I enjoyed some simple but delicious dishes like "Cheese Bacon" for 250 yen, "Mochi Bacon" for 250 yen, and "Sazae Pot Grilled" for 660 yen. I saved room for the "Nagahama Ramen" for 660 yen, which is known for its light yet flavorful pork bone broth. The meal ended with a satisfying taste of Hakata. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

After watching a day game of baseball, my friend recommended this place for the first time, so we decided to check it out. We all had a great time enjoying squid sashimi, grilled tongue, cucumber, yakitori, and ramen together. We made a reservation over the phone in advance, so we were able to secure seats easily. It's a smoking-permitted establishment, so it might not be ideal for families with children, but the wait time was not too long and the food was delicious.

Somehow, I like Yama-chan's ramen the best! Around 5 pm, I felt like eating Yama-chan's ramen, so I arrived at the restaurant around 6 pm, right when it opened. I didn't have a reservation, but they managed to squeeze me in for just an hour. In recent years, you basically can't get in without a reservation, so as a local, it's sad. So, I quickly ordered what I wanted to eat: - Beer - Sesame marinated bonito - Katsuo tataki - Scallop buttery grilled dish - Grilled mentaiko - Spicy pickled mustard greens ramen It's like a condensed version of Fukuoka in this restaurant. The staff is energetic and friendly, which boosts the mood.

It's been about 20 years since I last visited Yamachan. I used to go there often, especially after Logo's. The raw liver was delicious, and so was the raw or grilled pig cheeks. They don't seem to be on the menu anymore. It's impressive how busy they are from early hours, and they have managed to keep their popularity for so long.

The name is "Yatai" but it's actually a proper store with air conditioning, which is convenient. They are open late at night, but towards closing time, they tend to run out of items. I heard the Nira-Tama (chives and egg) is delicious, but unfortunately, it was sold out. The Hormone (offal) and other side dishes are really good. The ramen is just regular Nagahama ramen. Personally, I prefer the Yatai's yakisoba or late-night udon as a finishing dish.

The grilled meat and oden that the person next to me was eating looked delicious, but since it was our third stop, I could only eat one bowl of ramen. However, it was great to be able to fulfill my friend's request to try tonkotsu ramen and visit a food stall for the first time in Fukuoka. The ramen was undoubtedly delicious. We waited in line for almost an hour, so it would have been better if it was a bit shorter...

After a drinking party, I entered the restaurant alone at 2 am and it was surprisingly crowded, almost full. Yamachan is originally a popular food stall, but they also have a store. I'm not a big fan of food stalls, so I'm happy that I can eat at a proper restaurant! The menu is more extensive than at the food stall!! I apologize for the half-eaten photo, but the ramen here is really delicious. It's a bit small, which is just right for finishing off the meal!

Next to Nagahama Park is Nagahama Yatai Izakaya Yamachan. It was said to be crowded on that day, but my friend lined up first and by the time I arrived late, they were already inside and toasting. There was no menu, so we ordered from the menu posted on the wall. We ordered a variety of delicious skewers for the group, as well as sesame-marinated fish, local octopus with lemon and salt, stir-fried offal, and finally, the must-have kikurage mushroom ramen! Everyone said they were full, but once they took a bite of the ramen, they couldn't stop and some even ordered extra noodles. It's been a while since I last came here, but this place is the best izakaya.

The best izakaya I've been to so far. They had a variety of rare sashimi like whale and abalone, all served in a very fresh state. The staff were friendly, and it's a must-visit spot whenever I'm in Fukuoka. Reservations are not accepted, so lining up is a must.

I visited the restaurant in the middle of a business trip. I could feel the lively atmosphere from the smoking area outside. I ordered ramen and shochu. I could see the process of making the food right in front of me. The place was lively, and I could understand why it's popular. I enjoyed the original Nagahama ramen in a comfortable atmosphere.

Night's closing time at Yamachan's ramen♪ Nagahama Yatai Yamachan Tenjin Store This is a closing time post so there is limited information and photos. The Tenjin area has many options for closing time, but even after 12 midnight, this place was still bustling with customers. The staff were lively and the atmosphere was great. We started off with a Dewar's highball to cheers. I only took a picture of the menu (600 yen) and ordered the chicken skewers and cartilage skewers, but the cartilage was sold out. I added some chicken cartilage for extra crunchiness. Each skewer was 170 yen. After drinking and eating, we ended the night with the shop's famous tonkotsu ramen. The price is unknown, but the soup was slightly rich yet surprisingly refreshing. The noodles were thin, making it easy to eat and complementing the soup well. The ramen came with green onions and chashu. The chashu was tender and delicious. It seems like the lack of guilt after eating is one of the reasons why this place is popular. Even on a weekday night, the place was packed with customers and there was a line when we left. I will definitely come back again! Thank you for the meal!

Good evening, this is Maruharu. I went to the ramen izakaya "Yamachan" for the first time. Here is what I ordered: ・Sesame Kanpachi - 950 yen ・Beef tongue sashimi - 1400 yen ・Skewers - 170 yen each ・Hormone miso stir-fry - 900 yen ・Ramen - 660 yen The Sesame Kanpachi was fresh and fatty, with a crunchy texture. The beef tongue sashimi was my first time trying it, and it had a nice texture without a strong meaty smell. It was delicious! I don't remember the details of the ramen, but it was tasty! It's great to have a place where you can enjoy both ramen and drinks. The best part is being able to finish off the night there. Every dish was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The kind old man treated me like his grandchild, making it a comfortable experience. I definitely want to go back again. I think I'm hooked on ramen izakayas now, haha. Thank you for the meal!

I made a reservation to enjoy the food stalls in Hakata at the restaurant. When I arrived at 6:00 pm, there were already many other customers. It's clear that this place is popular. I started with the sesame amberjack. It was fresh and had an amazing texture! Fukuoka really knows how to do seafood well. The seared mentaiko was excellent! It was crispy and fragrant on the outside, and rare with great searing on the inside. The firefly squid was also fresh. The tongue salt, sagari, and hormone miso stir-fry were decent. The shiitake mushroom skewers and pork belly were delicious. I drank plenty of beer, sour drinks, and sake. It was amazing. The Nagahama ramen for the finish was also delicious. It had a unique richness and the noodles clung well to the soup. It's a pleasure to be able to finish with ramen of this level at a drinking establishment. I can understand why so many people come here to eat. Everything was delicious, and the staff were also very good. Even though it was crowded, the dishes came out relatively quickly. I spent 6000 yen for all this food and drink alone. The seafood in particular was amazing! Thank you for the feast!

On March 20, 2023 (Monday) at 18:00, a reservation was made for 2 people to visit a popular ramen izakaya near Tenjin Station. This is actually my favorite restaurant in Fukuoka, and it's been about 4 years since I last visited. Let's drink and eat at my beloved "Yamachan"! - Shop features - Counter seats and table seats available in the restaurant - Payment is made after ordering, cash or electronic money accepted - Traditional izakaya atmosphere with smoking allowed inside the restaurant - Order details - Sesame Buri / ¥950 - Kimchi / ¥350 - Mentaiko (raw) / ¥650 to ¥900 - Tan Shioyaki / ¥1,300 to ¥2,500 - Yamaimo Maki (Japanese mountain yam roll) / ¥300 x 2 servings - Kikurage Ramen / ¥760 - Sangaku (a type of sake) / ¥800 x 3 cups - Draft beer / ¥600 - Oolong tea / ¥300 - Cider (bottle) / ¥300 x 2 Started with a gulp of beer! Then, enjoyed the reliable mentaiko and kimchi. Next, the Sesame Buri and Tan Shioyaki arrived. The Buri was light and refreshing with a slight sesame flavor in a sweet soy sauce marinade, very delicious. The Tan Shioyaki had a good balance of texture and tenderness, very tasty! For the finale, ordered the Kikurage Ramen, which had a subtle tonkotsu aroma, smooth mouthfeel, and a sharp soy sauce taste. The noodles were firm and thin, providing a satisfying chew with the soup and kikurage mushrooms. As for drinks, mainly enjoyed Sangaku mixed with soda. They make it strong here, which is great! Hakata is a place that makes your heart feel lively. The name of the Oyafukō-dōri street is quite clever, isn't it? Along this street, there is Nagahama Park. This park used to be a place overflowing with drinkers, similar to Sankaku Park in Osaka, but now it has become a place for children to enjoy and relax. Looking from the street, you can see Nagahama Yatai Yamachan at the back of the park. Since the opening hours are a bit late, I adjusted my schedule before entering. It seems to be a popular restaurant, as they even asked if I had a reservation. I ordered shochu on the rocks and Goma Buri. When the Goma Buri was about to arrive, I got curious about the Itojima Age and Suji Oden, so I ordered them as well. The Itojima Age is like a deep-fried tofu that allows the flavor to seep in through the cuts. Hakata Oden is made with katsuobushi and ago dashi, which gives it a strong umami flavor with a hint of sweetness. The Itojima Oden, with its unique fried tofu style, also had the dashi seeped in, creating a flavor that I really enjoyed. As I was enjoying the Oden, the Goma Buri arrived. The slices of buri were from the back, which is my preferred part, and they paired perfectly with the sweet and salty sauce with sesame. To finish off, I decided to order ramen since it's a yatai. The soup had a bit more oil, but it wasn't too heavy. The thin and chewy noodles brought a lot of the soup and were very delicious. If I had been hungrier, I might have gone for an extra serving. With the name "yatai" in it, you can experience a bit of the atmosphere. The taste and price are both reasonable at this great restaurant.

After a night of heavy drinking and eating (even though I already had ramen), I suddenly craved ramen and stumbled into Yamachan. The restaurant was lively and bustling, typical for a weekend. I sat at the counter as a solo diner and enjoyed a draft beer while waiting for my ramen to arrive. The ramen at Yamachan, although not as rich in pork bone flavor, was light yet flavorful and delicious. I'll definitely come back when I'm not too drunk next time.

This is a shop located in Tsurumai, Fukuoka City. It seems like it used to be a food stall maybe? I'm not quite sure, but it's a very lively and popular place. I visited around 9 pm on a weekday, and by the time I left, there was already a line forming. Even late at night, it's popular. The menu includes sashimi, yakitori, oden, and more. The ramen at the end seems to be a favorite. I had oden, yakitori, and a negi-tama (leek and egg) rice bowl. The negi-tama rice bowl was delicious! The yolk was runny, and it had meat in it. Much better than negi-tama from other places. The oden with beef tendon was also tasty. Perfect for a cold day. The yakitori with pork belly and shrimp with shiso were both delicious. The ramen at the end was a bit heavier than I expected, with a strong tonkotsu flavor. Perfect for a tipsy palate. Thank you for the meal. I also had two hot water mixed with shochu drinks called "Mitsutake."
