Whenever I go to Hakata, there is a restaurant I always visit, but sometimes they don't have squid in stock, so this time I made a reservation to make sure I could eat it. When I entered the restaurant, it had a lively atmosphere but was also very clean, which put me at ease. I was impressed by the ikura (salmon roe) appetizer they served. In the past, many restaurants didn't serve appetizers, so it was the first time I wanted a refill. Unfortunately, the sesame mackerel was sold out, but I finally got to eat the squid I had been craving, and the sashimi platter was all fresh and tender. This is a restaurant with no negatives! I will definitely go back again next time!

Just before heading to the airport on the way back from my trip to Fukuoka, I had my final dinner here. It was a bit difficult to choose a restaurant since time was tight. I ordered a few fish dishes and the sesame mackerel was delicious. I envy the places where you can eat mackerel sashimi. The sweetness is incomparable. The grilled saury and tempura with corn and cream cheese were also a hit. It was a great way to end the trip.

Today, I had a dinner with a classmate from high school and his son. We had made a reservation for a course with live squid, but we were told on the day of the reservation that due to stormy weather, there was no squid available. So, we had to skip the live squid. We started with a toast with draft beer and had a great time chatting with the son who will be moving back to Fukuoka from Nagano next spring. The appetizer platter had four different dishes, and each of us had a plate of sesame mackerel, but the horse mackerel sashimi was for three people. Surprisingly, there was also Pacific saury sashimi on the platter! The son, who had been in a prefecture without the sea for four years, couldn't get enough of the sashimi in Fukuoka. He said Nagano only had delicious soba noodles. We had all-you-can-drink sake, and I had multiple refills of the nightingale in the garden sake. For shochu, I had multiple refills of the black mist. The dishes were all delicious, from the deep-fried fish and eggplant to the grilled chicken marinated in miso. We also had a steamed egg custard with snow crab and even some squid tempura, which surprisingly turned out well! The meal ended with a plate of assorted sushi and a clear soup. Yes, I drank quite a bit and got a little tipsy! Looking forward to seeing you again in the spring! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Fukuoka business trip, visited the seafood izakaya "Hakata Marushu" as the third stop with colleagues. Located a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit. The highlight was the live squid sashimi. It was incredibly fresh, still alive from start to finish, making me feel a bit sorry for it but my chopsticks couldn't stop moving! The private seating was a big plus for me, feeling a bit tired by the third stop, I could relax and enjoy my drink. Aside from seafood, they also offer a variety of vegetable dishes that bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients. Personally, I recommend the corn tempura as well!

Hakata Marushu, a seafood izakaya located a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit. I visited with my colleagues during a business trip to Fukuoka! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a clean interior. As soon as you enter, you can see live squid swimming in the tank. We ordered the specialty, live squid sashimi, and it was incredibly delicious! They offer various ways to cook the squid legs, such as tempura, butter, or salt. Unfortunately, they had run out of mackerel that day, so I will definitely try the sesame mackerel next time! They have private rooms available, making it perfect for large parties, banquets, or year-end parties!

The izakaya in Fukuoka is of a very high standard. You can enjoy specialties such as live squid sashimi, horse sashimi, sushi, and sesame mackerel. The squid is sweet with a satisfying texture and delicious, while the tuna is very clean and tasty. Two people can eat and drink to their heart's content for just over 10,000 yen. If it's near the station, you can't go wrong with this place. Also, the counter seats allow you to see the dishes being prepared, and the chef, though quiet, is very attentive and highly recommended.

We visited Marushu in Hakata, Fukuoka, which is located about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station. The restaurant was bustling, and we were lucky to get a reservation as it was fully booked until 8:30 pm. The interior was stylish with decorative plates embedded on the walls, and each table was separated by curtains, creating a cozy atmosphere. We were served generous portions of ikura-topped sushi as the appetizer, and the live squid sashimi was prepared quickly and served with a fresh, crunchy texture. We enjoyed dishes like sesame mackerel, seared saury, celery vinegar, squid ink tempura, and chicken nanban, along with a bottle of Tanaka Rokugo cold sake. Each dish was delicious and paired well with the sake. It was a great dining experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food and drinks. I look forward to visiting again on my next trip to Fukuoka.

The perfect balance of crispiness and appearance is amazing. The freshly fried and fluffy fried horse mackerel is a delight for the taste buds. When I asked the female staff what today's sashimi was, she replied, "I don't know," which left me puzzled, but the food was delicious so it's all good. A restaurant suitable for lunch with friends. I will definitely come back again.

We made a reservation in advance for a group reception. When we entered the restaurant, they informed us that they couldn't accept cards due to a power outage caused by the storm. It would have been nice to know beforehand. Anyway, the food was delicious! We enjoyed dishes like sesame mackerel and horse sashimi, which had a Kyushu vibe. We were satisfied with the meal! We also ordered some transparent squid as an extra, and it was delicious!

It had been a while since I visited Hakata for a work event with colleagues. We were seated in a private room and started with a 5,000 yen all-you-can-drink course. I was so engrossed in eating and chatting that I forgot to take photos of the food and beer. The sashimi was delicious. I ended up drinking quite a bit of beer and green tea gin. It's a great place for social gatherings or networking events. I rushed to Fukuoka Airport when the time came, caught the last flight back to Tokyo. It's a shame to only do a day trip to Fukuoka.

I visited because I wanted to eat fresh squid. They served me transparent squid with moving tentacles! The tentacles were fried tempura style, and I received a recommendation for sake that wasn't on the menu. I also enjoyed other Fukuoka specialties such as conger eel tempura, shiroyaki, and the famous turtle stew. I was satisfied.

Although there are no photos of live squid sashimi from Shiosaki, I also tried the sesame mackerel, both of which are specialties of this restaurant. I used this restaurant for the first time in a while for lunch. It's a popular place for lunch around here, like NUMBERSHOT or Ginmi-san. The atmosphere is easy to use, so I wonder if there is a relationship between Tanaka-dana and Wappa Shokudo. By the way, today's daily special was a simmered fish dish. The price seems to have gone up a bit compared to last time. It was 900 yen this time. But it comes with sashimi, sesame tofu, and lots of small dishes, so it's still cheap. I watched the kitchen closely from the counter, and I saw one person in charge of the main dish and one person making the seafood bowl, so it seems tough for the main dish person. The capacity of the restaurant seems to be about 50 people, and it seems difficult to handle this alone (even though the small dishes can be prepared in advance). Next time, I want to try the seafood bowl. Thank you for the meal.

Reserved a luxurious sashimi and horse sashimi course with my family during Golden Week. On the day, they mentioned they had squid and offered to add squid sashimi for an extra 500 yen!! The transparency was outstanding. Fresh squid is wonderful! The horse sashimi was also incredibly delicious, but I started feeling unwell due to the fatigue of Golden Week and had to leave early by myself. When my husband came home later, he had a plastic bag for some reason, and he said they packed the remaining course for us without us asking. They seemed to have noticed my condition and did something special for us. I was truly saved by their kindness. Thank you for your consideration. I enjoyed the food on the hotel bed ^_^

I wanted to eat seafood for lunch, so I went to Marushu nearby. Although there seemed to be plenty of seats, it was full. I hesitated between the daily special set meal and the Marushu bowl, but I chose the Marushu bowl with raw egg. The marinated fish in the Marushu bowl was yellowtail. The marinade was not too strong and had a gentle flavor.

I realized I hadn't had any seafood since coming to Hakata, so I decided to visit this place during lunchtime despite knowing it would be crowded. As expected, it was quite busy. Luckily, there were seats available at the counter, so I could enter without waiting in line. I wanted to order the Hakata Don, but they said they were out of crab, yet the price remained the same...? I decided to change my order to the sashimi set. They said it would take some time, but it was served in about 10 minutes, which I thought was quite fast considering how busy they were. The six types of sashimi were all very fresh, and they paired perfectly with the sweet soy sauce that I love at this place. It was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I usually have my lunch break here. The daily lunch special on fish days is really delicious, and the price of 900 yen is too good to be true! The sashimi that always comes with it is fresh and tasty, with a nice texture! However, if you go after 12 o'clock, it's always crowded and sometimes you can't get a seat.

■ Overall Impression This is a popular izakaya located at Hakata Station Chikushi Exit. After researching, I found out that they have a sister restaurant called NUMBERSHOT. Last time, I ordered the daily lunch special which was chicken-based, but this time it was mackerel simmered dish. They really excel in fish dishes here. ■ Mackerel Simmered Dish When you try to make simmered dishes at home, the fish can end up smelling fishy or becoming tough. However, the mackerel simmered dish here is incredibly tender, with zero fishy smell. It was delicious. It goes really well with rice. I could eat this forever. Thank you for the meal.

If you want to eat seafood in Hakata, go to Marushu! I had a business trip visitor from Tokyo, so I definitely wanted to try the live squid sashimi, and I ordered it in advance when making the reservation. The order included live squid sashimi, sesame mackerel, cod milt with ponzu sauce, tofu salad, Fukuoka-style fried fish with soy sauce, AnQ roll, grilled salted shiitake mushrooms from Oita, pickled cucumbers, rolled omelette with spicy cod roe, fried chicken, grilled wagyu beef with rock salt, recommended sushi (8 pieces), tuna belly roll, seaweed roll, and various drinks. The appetizer sushi was luxurious and the live squid sashimi was impressive in size and freshness. Everything ordered was delicious, with no disappointments. The atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. Highly recommended!

I went to eat fresh squid sashimi, but they only had enough for reservations, so I had to give up. As it is a fish shop, you can enjoy various fresh fish. The menu is a bit limited, so some people may have trouble deciding what to order! They also had cuttlefish sashimi, which was delicious, but I thought cuttlefish might be better in a hot pot.
