About a 10-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line. There was a line of about 50 people, and we waited for roughly an hour. The shop was surprisingly big and clean! I remember in the past when the staff would shout "Hey, Kishan!" as soon as the door opened (apparently not a fight), which surprised me. Now, the staff are diverse and international. I bought a meal ticket, lined up, and entered. I immediately declared "Betanama," but was asked again after being seated, "Menno Katasaha?" so I repeated "Betanama." I sat at a table for 5 people. On the table, there was a large teapot (hot tea), plastic cups, sesame seeds, pickled ginger, ramen sauce, and pepper, as well as chopsticks. Water and glasses were by the water dispenser. The food was served quickly. I took a sip of the soup... It felt like a distant memory, like the first bowl. Oh, was it like this before? The pork bone broth seemed as light as I remembered, which is how Nagahama Ramen started. The soup is deliciously seasoned with soy sauce and magic powder. The noodles are fresh and thin, so they slide smoothly. The portion of noodles is generous, so you might not need an extra serving. You can pay for extra noodles and meat in cash at your seat, so you can decide after trying one bowl. I asked for extra noodles and meat, sprinkled some pickled ginger and sesame seeds, added a bit of ramen sauce, and had a second bowl! It's only ¥550 per bowl!! It's still cheap, even with the price increase! Thank you for the history and tradition. It was a feast!

It had been a while since I felt like eating there. I visited around 11:30 am and there were about 10 people waiting outside, but the turnover was fast so I got in pretty quickly. I ordered the Barikata ramen and it arrived in less than a minute. The soup tasted just like before, and the meat had a slightly strong salty flavor, which was also unchanged. The extra noodles were a bit generous and I was full. Personally, I think adding a little pepper, ramen sauce, and red ginger is the best.

I love going on business trips to Fukuoka. So this time, I visited the famous original Nagahamaya. Ramen and such are not pretentious things, you know. The essence is important. I just want to fill my stomach with delicious food and satisfy my hunger. That's all it takes to get a perfect score of 100! Lately, I haven't seen those huge kettles placed on the table where you pour tea from. While pouring tea from such a kettle, I thought about these things.

On September 17, 2023 (Sunday) at 22:40 (time of purchasing the meal ticket), I wanted to eat Nagahama ramen, so I lined up at a popular shop where you can see the long line from afar! I waited for 20 minutes before entering. The turnover rate is quite good. In the tea kitchen with a kettle, about 18 bowls were lined up one after another... The ramen costs 550 yen and comes with straight thin noodles and plenty of green onions. It was so delicious! This taste is the best, right? The flavor was a bit light, so I added a little sauce and pickled ginger. It was very tasty! ^^ V

It is a super famous shop known for its great cost performance and fast service. The taste is refreshing, and you can enjoy it differently by adding dashi, sesame, and pickled ginger when you start to get tired of it. It seems better to ask for extra green onions when you hand over the food ticket.

Ramen ¥550
This shop is said to be the origin of the pork bone ramen stall. The menu is simple with only ramen to choose from, with options for extra noodles, extra meat, and drinks. The interior of the shop is like a concrete floor, with 4 tables for 5-6 people each. Customers sit together at the available seats.
I was surprised to see that all the staff were foreigners, handling everything with ease. When asked about the firmness of the noodles, I requested them to be firm.
The ramen was served promptly, topped with a large amount of green onions and thinly sliced pork. The noodles were thin with a good chew, typical of pork bone ramen. The soup was a simple pork bone broth without soy sauce, salt, or miso - just pure pork bone flavor.
On the table, there were condiments like sauce, pickled ginger, sesame seeds, and pepper to adjust the flavor to your liking. There was hardly any pork bone smell, and the simplicity of the green onions paired well with the dish. While pork bone ramen has evolved in various ways, this ramen represents the original taste of wild pork bone ramen.

I came alone and arrived after 10 o'clock, so I had no problem ordering because I did some research beforehand. I asked for extra green onions and the default taste was delicious, right? Since it was early in the morning, the soup was refreshing. I would like to try going at night next time. Thank you for the meal.

While in Fukuoka, I plan to try all the Nagahama ramen. First stop, the original Nagahama-ya. I bought a meal ticket before entering, and the staff immediately asked, "How firm do you want your noodles?" I ordered them firm. The ramen came out quickly. It wasn't overly firm, but lacked a bit of depth. As I ate, I tried adding ginger, sesame, and extra soup to change up the flavors. I'll try out the surrounding restaurants before deciding on the differences.

I watched a local program that Hana University was doing, and then I went to a similar restaurant nearby that was mentioned at the end. I don't particularly think it's delicious, but I sometimes feel like going there. I went there early in the morning today. It was almost full even though it was before 7 am. I really dislike the shared seating style here. I wish they would at least create a counter around. I ordered the "Beta Kata" as usual. They don't seem to allow extra green onions, which is a shame. The ramen here is light in flavor, but the chashu is rich in taste, so eating the ramen without chashu makes it just right. I ordered extra noodles and meat this time. I decided not to add the ramen sauce this time. I could have gone for another serving of extra noodles, but I want to eat something else for lunch, so I stopped. I complained a lot, but it was delicious! Thank you for the meal! I'll come back again when I feel like it!

I visited while watching a baseball game. It is a longstanding store and I was looking forward to trying Nagahama ramen for the first time! The light soup with a rich pork bone flavor is addictive. The strong-flavored chashu and green onions as simple toppings make it perfect. Truly impressive.

The rain stopped, so I took a walk and went to Nagahama area to eat Nagahama ramen. I searched for a long-established restaurant on Tabelog and luckily there was no wait time. I ordered at the ticket machine and got a basic tonkotsu ramen. It became a good conversation topic.

I visited Hakata and decided to try authentic Hakata ramen. The interior of the restaurant was different from those in Kanto, with a workshop-like atmosphere. The taste was truly authentic, with the pork bone soup having a rich flavor and depth. It paired perfectly with the firm noodles. However, it lacked a bit of saltiness, so I recommend adding some red pickled ginger and sauce from the table to enhance the flavor. This will bring the dish to perfection.

On the first day of my one-day business trip to Fukuoka on August 28th (Monday), I had dinner at the second restaurant, "Original Nagahama-ya." I had visited this place once during Golden Week in 2007. It seems that the restaurant has been renovated since then. I purchased two meal tickets from the ticket machine at the storefront, one for ramen for 550 yen and one for an extra serving of noodles for 150 yen each (tax included). I handed the meal tickets to the staff after sitting at a table in the restaurant. I ordered my ramen with firm noodles, while a young man ordered his with regular noodles. In just 2-3 minutes, our bowls were served. Let's dig in! The ramen was incredibly delicious, with a simple yet flavorful light tonkotsu broth. The extra-thin straight noodles were delicious, and the soup was the highlight. Although the chashu slices were thin, they were tender, and the generous amount of green onions added a nice touch. The young man was also impressed by the delicious taste. I was surprised by the large portion of noodles – it felt like there was about 1.5 servings! I slightly regretted ordering the extra serving. The young man jokingly mentioned how much noodles there were. Midway through the meal, I added some sesame and ginger for flavor variation, making it even more like authentic Nagahama ramen. When I finished the noodles, I ordered the extra serving. As I tried to take a photo, a staff member slowly added the extra noodles for me. The dish was really delicious! Adding some more sauce to the ramen enhanced the flavor even further. It was a truly enjoyable meal. Thank you for the meal!

Come to think of it, I had never been to the original Nagahama-ya, the birthplace of Nagahama Ramen. The thin-sliced pork with a salty flavor in the tonkotsu-based yet refreshing Nagahama Ramen was delicious. The plain interior and the tea in the kettle with tea leaves were nice touches. It was served at room temperature, but it was surprisingly good. #OriginalNagahama-ya #Hakata #sauna #ramen #sauna #soloactivity #drinkingalone #camp #outdoor #solocamping #saunameal #gourmet #beer

Fukuoka: Akasaka "Original Nagahamaya" I enjoyed the soul food of Hakata, tonkotsu ramen! It didn't have the unique smell of tonkotsu at all! The soup was deep in flavor and it clung to the noodles. It was surprisingly refreshing and delicious! I added sesame, dashi, and pickled ginger to enhance the flavor! Extra toppings too! #3150 #OriginalNagahamaya #OriginalNagahamayaRamen #HakataRamen #HakataGourmet #HakataTabelog #Tabelog #GourmetSurfer #Eeeeeats #FoodPhotography #FoodPorn #Foodgasm #Foodie #Delish #FoodLovers #TokyoGourmet #FoodPorn #GourmetSurfer #gourmetInstagramtabelog_surfer

When you come to Hakata, you can't miss out on the ramen here, so of course I had to try the "Betakata" with extra green onions. The broth is so delicious that you can drink it all the way to the end without feeling thirsty afterwards. It's really tasty!

There is another shop with a similar name to the original Nagahama-ya store. They have a ticket machine outside the shop. I had walked a lot that day and was quite hungry, so I ordered ramen with an extra serving of noodles and extra meat (which led to a tragedy later on). The ramen costs 550 yen. The soup noodles were served and I added some red pepper to spice it up. The ramen was quite filling. In my mind, ramen with an extra serving of noodles usually has a lighter portion, but this shop's portion was quite substantial. Adding extra meat and noodles was a heavy choice. I have been eating less lately, so the extra noodles and meat made the dish taste bland to me. I even added more sauce to try and enjoy it, but ended up overeating. It was a very cheap meal, but surprisingly delicious. It's a great shop.

I have visited the original Nagahama Ramen several times and it is always really delicious. Considering the cost performance and taste, it is really good. It is definitely one of the top performers in Hakata ramen that is open 24 hours a day! (At least in my opinion) It's also great that it doesn't have too much pork bone smell (yet still tastes delicious)!

"Fukuoka Expedition 5th stop ✈️" ◎Established in 1952, this renowned restaurant is not only popular among tourists but also highly favored by locals. ◎Despite its bold operating hours from 5:00 in the morning to 1:45 the next day, there is always a long line due to its overwhelming popularity! ✨ ◎The broth is light with a refined flavor that perfectly blends the richness of pork bone. ✨✨✨ ◎Ordering the noodles "firm" results in a satisfying al dente texture that stays delicious even as time passes. ◎The tender and flavorful chashu pork melts in your mouth with a balanced saltiness that contrasts beautifully with the mild soup!

When it comes to ramen in Fukuoka, this place is a must. First, just as it is! Then, add sesame, pickled ginger, and pepper. Go for extra pork and extra noodles without hesitation. Avoid too much fat at night. The green onions are delicious and add depth to the flavor. Sesame goes really well with it.

There is always a long line, but since there was only one group waiting, we decided to go in. I was worried it might be hard to enter with kids, but there were families dining too. The noodles were only 550 yen and the portion was generous! Great value for money! The meat was delicious, so I added extra for just 100 yen. By the time we left, the line had gotten longer. It's popular for a reason - I'll definitely go back! 😊
