The final night in Hakata always leads me to this place, Nakasu Yatai Kibun. A well-known gem in Hakata, run by the talented sake connoisseur, Mr. Amamoto, and his wife. It took a few years before all their sons became Michelin chefs and could pass through the noren. Now, you can feel the warmth of being welcomed into their family. Even if there are empty seats, you must not just sit down without permission. In a way, it may be one of the most difficult places to get into in Hakata. Despite being a street stall, this place holds a special atmosphere. To all the glittering Instagrammers and YouTubers out there, please refrain from making an appearance. The wagyu, wagyu tongue, and oden platter were the best. It was the perfect way to end the meal.

I went to my favorite sushi restaurant in Tokyo, which is run by the parents of a friend. I couldn't just pass by without saying hello, so I stopped by to greet them. Even though I was already full from eating at Motsu Shabu, I couldn't resist trying some dishes. The Harami Sagari was incredibly delicious. I also had oden, tempura, and fresh scallop sashimi. Overall, I had a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. This place is definitely the number one food stall in Hakata.

On this day, I visited the food stall run by the father of the renowned sushi restaurant "Azabu Tenmoto", which is considered the best in Japan. I ordered some sake, oden, and tempura. Overall, the food is much more delicious than other food stalls. Especially, the tempura was amazing. It's no longer the quality of a food stall. The preparation is done properly, and it is much tastier than a popular fast food tempura in the prefecture. What I love the most is the atmosphere of the restaurant. You can enjoy chatting with the owner and interacting with other customers, which is the charm of a food stall. The owner's father is funny, creating a lively atmosphere and a sense of unity at the food stall. The mother is also kind and warm, and their banter is heartwarming. I would like to visit again (if possible...)

Actually, I go to Fukuoka on business quite often, but this was my first time at a food stall. I had a fun and enjoyable time, experiencing the charm of interacting with people at the food stall. The food stall had quite a variety of ingredients. You can even have salted beef tongue at the stall in Nakasu. I enjoyed a variety of tempura and oden.

This popular food stall is run by that person's father. Unlike other stalls, they don't serve ramen. It seems difficult to enter because it depends on the father's mood, and it mainly caters to regular customers. The brisk father and the gentle mother provide a very pleasant customer service. The warm and friendly Hakata dialect adds to the sense of familiarity. We had thick-cut tongue, grilled asparagus with salt, and oden as recommended by them. Eating outside makes the food taste even better, it was a fun experience. We enjoyed quite a few Sapporo Black Labels, thank you for a fun night, it was a delicious meal! Thank you very much for reading until the end. Your support through follows, likes, and saving the restaurant is truly appreciated. Please check out my Instagram as well. The final highlight of Nakasu's night is its famous food stalls. Currently, there are 19 famous food stalls in Nakasu. Every evening, from evening until the customers leave, the food stalls in Nakasu, Fukuoka's famous food stall street, are open for business. In the sushi field, one of the best in Japan is Tenmoto, near Noda Iwa in Higashi Azabu. Even the father says, "My eldest son's sushi restaurant is not bad at all." The son is running a successful restaurant in Tokyo. The top three specialties of Nakasu food stalls are Negiyaki, Oden, and Hakata Ramen, but Kibun's cozy atmosphere is exceptional. During this Fukuoka expedition, I stayed at the Hotel Okura Fukuoka, a 13-story penthouse, for consecutive nights. On the way from the food stalls to the nearest toilet, I thought the Grand Hyatt next to Canal City Hakata in Tenjin was very convenient, so I decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt next time. Nearby, there is Ichiran, a popular tonkotsu ramen restaurant that rents a whole building, located across from the FamilyMart closest to Excel Tokyu Fukuoka. Tenmoto-san is very friendly. After visiting three places in Nakasu's night and spending 1 million yen, I had 8,000 yen left, so I decided to visit Kibun for the final stop. Despite being very popular, the owner closes the shop around midnight. "There's no end, so come back again," said the owner in Hakata dialect, with a cute girl. I am planning to visit Nakasu again in June or July, and I felt like I wanted to visit again. Smoking is allowed, but there are no ashtrays. "It's okay to throw cigarettes on the ground, we'll clean it up when we set up the food stalls in Nakasu tomorrow," said the owner. It was a nostalgic night in Nakasu. In the era of telework, with no reason to live in Tokyo, I moved back to an expensive apartment and had days where I didn't know what I was doing. I will come back again, it was a wonderful night in Nakasu. I enjoyed it. Thank you very much. I will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

Fukuoka Trip Part 8 This is also a restaurant recommended by a follower on Instagram. It is located in the yatai (food stall) area of Nakasu (Haruyoshi?). We visited for a second dinner, after having motsunabe (offal hot pot) just before, so we kept it light. - Assorted oden (5 types) - Iwashi (sardine) mentaiko (spicy cod roe) - 2 highballs The food was delicious, but what really impressed me was the spirit of the owner. He spoke in a lively Hakata dialect and shared his pride as a chef and his philosophy as a yatai restaurant owner. He explained things like why burdock is commonly used in Hakata cuisine. My vocabulary can't fully convey this wonderful experience, so if you go to Hakata, this place is a must-visit!

In Hakata, there are three main areas with food stalls: Tenjin, Showadori, Nakasu, Nakagawa Street, and Tenjin, Watanabe Street. This time, I visited "Nakasu Yatai Kibun" for the first time as my second stop. The owner of this stall is a retired sushi chef from a highly exclusive restaurant in Azabu, Tokyo. On this day, there were students from Tokyo and customers from Kanazawa traveling. The 9 seats were fully occupied and the customers quickly became friendly with each other, sharing dishes and enjoying drinks together until late. Although the fish selection wasn't great that day, we enjoyed dishes like oden, Oita mushrooms, and shrimp tempura as snacks. It was a delicious and fun day!

Located along the river in Nakasu, there is a famous restaurant called "Kibun." This is the father's shop of one of the most difficult sushi restaurants to reserve in Tokyo, "Higashi-Azabu Tenmoto." The atmosphere is very casual, almost like a street stall. It is said that they mainly serve regular customers, and sometimes even if there are empty seats, first-time customers may be turned away. However, as a friendly and cute person, I was able to join the group smoothly even though it was my first time there. I am the type who always passes the first interview with a 100% success rate. First, I had beer and oden. It has been about 10 years since I last ate and drank at a street stall in Hakata, and I was surprised by the high quality. They offer several types of beer, all ice-cold. There is also a washing area for dishes, and I wonder how the equipment of the stalls works around here. I also had grilled chicken thigh skewers, which were thick and delicious. The portion was generous, and the price of 700 yen was also pleasing. The Tenmoto family is very similar, and both the father and son are likable people. Their lively atmosphere and energetic vibe really show the greatness of their DNA. It was amusing when they jokingly said, "Even parents can't make a reservation at the eldest son's restaurant." The regular customers got excited when they saw the cabbage rolls. It seems to be a dish that is rarely seen due to the complicated preparation process. I also tried the grilled saury with mentaiko. It looks unfair with the whole mentaiko fitting inside the saury's belly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I received great hospitality from the regular customers on both sides. However, when one of them was asked to leave because an important customer was coming, I was surprised. It seems that in Hakata's street stalls, they do not allow long stays. Even if you spend a lot of money, they will kick you out if you stay too long. Lastly, I enjoyed the giant tempura shrimp. To be able to get such a large tempura shrimp at a street stall is amazing. It was surprisingly delicious and affordable compared to regular izakayas. Despite visiting alone, I had a great time thanks to my ability to engage with others. I look forward to visiting again on another solo night. For the blog post with photos, click here: [link to the blog post]

I finally had the chance to visit Nakasu Yatai Kibun, which I couldn't tell if it was open due to the coronavirus. This food stall is run by the father of the owner of Azabu Sushi Tenmoto, a place I've been wanting to visit. I was lucky to find a seat and greeted the father before ordering a sweet potato shochu and some light snacks. We chatted while enjoying dishes like thick-cut beef tongue, but the stall closed at 9 pm due to shortened operating hours. It was a pleasant time, and I hope to come back to spend more time drinking with the father. Thank you for the meal!

The master here at Azabu Tenmoto seems proud when talking about his father and son, who run a restaurant in the middle of Nakasu. He gained experience working at a tempura restaurant when he was young, and his tempura surpasses the level of street stalls. The tempura here is highly recommended, especially the thick-cut beef tongue grilled and served with ponzu sauce and yuzu pepper. Although it can be a bit of a wait since the master mostly works alone, it's a great opportunity to chat with other customers or the master himself. The atmosphere is unique and unforgettable, with options like grilled mushrooms, mentaiko, oden, and yakitori. They also offer drinks like Tanaka Rokugo sake and wine. If you're looking to create some memories in Fukuoka, why not visit this place?

When it comes to Fukuoka, you think of food stalls!! So, I visited the food stall street in Nakasu♪♪♪ This time, I wanted to visit the most popular stall in the street, "Kibun". It's always so crowded that you can't get in, or it's fully booked by regular customers. Even though other stalls were empty on this Sunday, this one was almost full. The husband, who has a talented son, daughter, and wife, was very friendly and wonderful♡ I'm so glad I visited on this day! - Sake - Burdock root tempura (appetizer) - Grilled shiitake mushrooms - Recommended by the owner: special steak menu available only on that day They said the menu changes depending on what seafood, meat, or vegetables they can get, and they can handle anything from oden, tempura, to grilled dishes. I didn't know food stalls could be so clean and cozy! - Chicken wings with spicy cod roe - Assorted tempura - Tempura: eel from Tsushima - Yellowtail collar Since there were four of us with big appetites, we ordered a lot and had a lot to drink. Everyone ate a lot and we were amazed by the high quality of the food, not what you expect from a food stall. They mentioned having many "famous customers" as well, so we had a great time. I'll definitely visit again!

Yay! I'm in Nakasu! Yay! It's a food stall! I'm looking for a second food stall. I made eye contact with a food stall owner who seemed different from the others. There was no one calling out to customers, making it a bit intimidating to enter. No one was sitting inside either. But that just made me more curious. Good evening, is it okay if I sit down? The owner gave me a stern look and said, "Go ahead." Pretty normal! I ordered beer, oden, and grilled fish, while my husband ordered oolong tea and grilled mentaiko. It was just the owner, my husband, and me in the stall. It felt nice and relaxed compared to the noisy surroundings. While enjoying my beer, the owner placed a cold towel around my neck, saying, "It's hot, this should help." Ah, it feels cool and refreshing, thank you. Before I knew it, I was having a lively conversation with the owner. He's a veteran with 47 years of experience in this business. And then, out of the blue, a mysterious beautiful lady sat down next to me and greeted us. The owner seemed to remember her as someone who only ate sushi at fancy places. I was left wondering what they were talking about. The mysterious lady mentioned that the owner's son runs a famous sushi restaurant in Azabu and another one in Taiwan, both with long waiting lists. She had come to see the owner's face before going to eat sushi in Kokura the next day. She shared a lot of information with us. The owner even gave us his business card, saying that both his sons run restaurants under the same name. I checked them out on Tabelog and they were indeed impressive. It was a fascinating conversation. The mysterious lady asked if we were tourists and where we were dining. We had hotpot for lunch at Nagano-san's, and we were undecided about tomorrow. She asked, "You seem well-connected, who are you?" I just laughed and said I was just a regular woman. I couldn't help but wonder about her background. I wanted to keep talking with the owner and the mysterious lady, but my husband seemed tired, so we decided to head back to the hotel. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you, Kibun's owner. The food was delicious.

After saying goodbye to Makki Makimoto, the food-loving group headed to "Higashi Azabu Tenmoto," one of the top sushi restaurants in Tokyo, where they enjoyed the warm hospitality of Masamichi's parents at their traditional stall "Kibun." The combination of stubbornness and deep kindness in their service, along with the unique atmosphere of a traditional stall, made for a delightful experience as they indulged in yakitori and drinks. It was a wonderful stall that exuded the spirit of Kyushu men. ◾︎ Food Beast Maro

This standout food stall resembles a traditional Japanese counter-style restaurant. In my younger days, I was turned away multiple times, and even when there were no customers, my father had a policy of not allowing in guests he didn't feel a connection with. He's a legendary figure who created the iconic food stalls in Hakata. He may have his quirks, but he shares stories about the history of food stalls, Hakata's fish, and interesting customers. Once you become friends with him, he'll even guide you around Hakata. He introduced me to a ramen stall, a bar, and a snack bar. The fish is delicious. I had grilled cutlassfish and tasty sardines with mentaiko. The oden was also delicious. Is it near Tokyo Tower? His son is going to start his own business. Visit when you can. I used to hear that it was hard to make a reservation, but don't worry, it'll be fine with my father. I visited Fukuoka during the pandemic, and the restaurant was closed, but when I called my father, he was still full of energy. I need to learn from his entrepreneurial spirit.
