Visited at 10:33 on a weekday. There were customers waiting outside. It took a while to be seated, but once inside, the service was quick, with food served in about 5 minutes. I managed to get the last seat at the counter just in time. The place was surprisingly popular for a weekday. I ordered the daily set meal for 990 yen, which included 5 pieces of sashimi and the main dish of red fish. The side dishes were also satisfying. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and elegant. Despite the price increase compared to the past, it was a reasonable and satisfying price for the quality in today's times.

I had a delightful dinner with my favorite Miyatake-san. We enjoyed a variety of dishes:
- The appetizer was a consommé jelly with Satsuma-style fried fish.
- The mackerel was delicious with its rich flavor.
- The horse mackerel tartare had a harmonious blend of fresh horse mackerel and myoga.
- The Yokowa sashimi was excellent.
- The extra-large rock oyster was incredibly creamy and filling.
- The extra-large shrimp tempura was crispy and fluffy.
- The steamed flounder with sake had a delicious flavor with the scent of sudachi.
We also had Hiozakura from Tottori and Kouryuu from Niigata, both of which paired well with the early autumn season and the rich taste of new rice. Every dish was made with fantastic ingredients and cooking techniques, and I was extremely satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I arrived at Kawachiya after a 40-minute drive to Kyoto for an urgent matter, despite being on bed rest at home. The nearby coin parking lots were all full, so I wandered around for over 15 minutes before finally finding a spot. The restaurant was busy, and I had to wait for 20 minutes before being seated. The lunch options were limited to three set meals, with small side dishes included. The service was excellent, and I was impressed when they confirmed my dominant hand for eating. Many customers seemed to prefer the daily special set meal, which looked tempting. I ordered the seafood chirashi set meal, which turned out to be delicious and generous in portion. The various side dishes were all flavorful, and the sashimi was fresh and tasty. The value for money was exceptional, and I left satisfied with the experience. I would love to try the daily special set meal next time. Overall, the restaurant's quality of food, service, and atmosphere was excellent, especially considering its location near Kyoto Central Wholesale Market.

I always line up, but during the day the turnover seems good so there isn't much of a wait, especially on weekdays. The menu changes daily, but I am always satisfied. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly, so I was able to enjoy my meal comfortably. However, I feel like the size of the sardines and mentaiko has been reduced by about half compared to before, haha.

I headed to the restaurant early to get in line for the first seating at 10:30 am, but there were already over ten people waiting to sign in. Despite the intense heat, I managed to get in for the first seating. The staff greeted me warmly and I was seated promptly. I ordered the daily special, grilled saury marinated in salt koji. The set meal included sashimi, salad, various side dishes, miso soup, and rice, all for 990 yen, which was a great value.

It had been a while since my last visit. The wait is always long, and in the summer there is no shade, so I arrived early around 10:40, but there were already 3 groups waiting. However, I was able to enter after about 5 minutes, and I ordered the refreshing seafood chirashi set meal for ¥1,760. There was a lot of sashimi, and I misjudged the rice management. I had leftovers of sashimi, so I ordered a small portion of vinegar rice. The side dishes were salad with flying fish roe and burdock, seaweed vinegar, seafood kimchi stew, simmered sardines, and tuna salad with paprika and cabbage. It was served with watercress and thin fried tofu miso soup. I was very full. Thank you for the meal.

They serve lunch starting at 10:30, which is quietly appreciated by travelers. I always stop by when heading towards Shimabara. I managed to get in on my first try by writing my name a bit before they opened. The seating is communal, but facing each other so it doesn't feel cramped. The daily lunch special is diverse and costs 990 yen. I asked for a regular portion of rice, but it felt a bit lacking so I should have gotten the large portion from the start. If you have room in your stomach, you can keep asking for more rice as much as you want. You can also get one refill. You can check the daily menu on Facebook.

When I feel like eating Japanese food, I always come here. It's very Kyoto-style with lots of small dishes that make it fun. The rice is delicious and goes well with the meal. You can have up to two servings of rice, but I always go for the large serving, which is recommended. The sashimi is fresh and doesn't have any fishy smell, which I like. Lately, the main dish I've been enjoying is the grilled fish, which is cooked perfectly and tastes great. Around 12:50 PM is a good time to come as it's less crowded and you won't have to wait for your meal.

The taste is undeniably great, but what's even better is how friendly, energetic, and cheerful the staff at the restaurant are. It's recommended to order the course menu, but if you have room in your stomach, adding some a la carte dishes is also a good idea. The original sparkling sake was also quite nice.

I always have to wait in line, but this time I arrived after 11 o'clock and there was no wait, so I went inside. Today's special was anglerfish tempura, which I love. It was a great choice today. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice portions, and you can also get a refill for just one bowl. Lately, my favorite has been the cod roe and sardines for refills. This fish market restaurant really offers great value for the price.

The restaurant is located very close to the market, a bit hidden but once you find it, you'll see that it's a very stylish and beautiful place. The fish is fresh and delicious, with a wide variety of menu options to enjoy. The staff is very polite and attentive, overall a very satisfying experience.

My friend from Tokyo requested "fish" so I made a reservation about 5 days in advance and luckily got a spot. The atmosphere was different from daytime, more like a hidden adult's retreat. The handwritten menu was a nice touch. We had the recommended 7-8 course meal for 6050 yen, excluding drinks. We enjoyed some draft beer and highballs, totaling 17160 yen. The dishes were all top-notch in terms of variety, seasoning, freshness, and service. I can't wait to come back for the seasonal dishes, especially for the anglerfish. My friend from Tokyo was also very satisfied. Thank you so much!

I always receive delicious Japanese cuisine here. Today's main dish is fried cod. It is served with grated ponzu sauce, which makes it refreshing and delicious. I always have two extra servings of rice, but the seasoning is exquisite and even feels healthy. The flavors of the ingredients are well preserved. It's very delicious. I will definitely come back.

Today's daily special set meal for 990 yen includes:
- Simmered red snapper
- Chef's choice sashimi
- Simmered iwashi (sardine)
- Mozuku seaweed vinegar
- Spicy seasoned hiraten (fish cake) and harusame (bean starch noodles)
- Hanpen (fish cake) and wakame seaweed salad
- Steamed rice, mentaiko (spicy cod roe), miso soup
The portion size and price are both amazing! It's so reasonable that I would want to come back again and again. Even though dinner can cost around 10,000 yen, lunch at this restaurant is a great deal and there's no way you can go wrong. I was a bit nervous about dining alone, but since the restaurant mainly has counter seats, it was comfortable for solo diners. The simmered red snapper was so tender and flavorful, it was enough to go with a bowl of rice. Everyone around me also ordered the daily special set meal, and each dish was truly delicious and carefully crafted.

I went to Branch Ni Miyatake for lunch. I arrived a little after 10 o'clock and filled out the reservation sheet. There were two groups ahead of me. I took a 20-minute walk around the area and returned 5 minutes before my reservation time. The staff kindly explained the system to me and then I entered the restaurant. I was seated at the counter and soon the daily special set meal was served. It consisted of seven dishes, rice, and miso soup, just like in the photo. I have been eating a lot of Western food recently, so having a traditional Japanese meal was very comforting. The simmered dish and mozuku seaweed were particularly delicious and reminded me of old times. By the time I finished my meal in about 20 minutes, all the seats were filled.

When I arrived at the market alley and started looking for a hidden shop, there was already a line. I waited for about 20 minutes and ordered the daily special lunch set and sashimi set. The refined atmosphere and taste unique to Kyoto were exceptional, and you can also get free refills of rice.

The restaurant had counter seats and sunken kotatsu-style seats. It seemed to be a popular place as there were already a few people waiting when I arrived before noon. We were guided to a sunken seat, where it seems like if there are only two people, they will be seated facing each other. ⚠️ Don't forget to write your name on the list inside the restaurant. (I didn't know this and someone in line kindly informed me, haha) The food was incredibly delicious! The main dish of the daily special set on this day was salmon fry, along with assorted sashimi, simmered sardines, mozuku seaweed vinegar, buttered clams and spinach, kamaboko and dried daikon radish salad, mentaiko, miso soup, and rice for a total of 990 yen including tax. It's a steal. They apparently offer this 990 yen daily special set for both lunch and dinner, so definitely give it a try! In addition to this set, they also had a sashimi set (1540 yen) and a seafood chirashi set (1760 yen)! You can choose the amount of rice, and even get one refill! The rice was so delicious that I felt like I could eat just rice and side dishes. This might sound strange, but the women's restroom was clean. I don't know if it's just me, but I have a good impression of clean restroom in restaurants, haha. As soon as you enter, there's a nice scent of incense at the sink. And when you enter the toilet stall, there's a small garden area with gravel? and indirect lighting with running water. It was a restroom, but the atmosphere was surprisingly nice. If you're interested, please give this place a visit!
