From Demachiyanagi Station in Kyoto, I took a bus and got off among Kyoto University students. They seem so free, like a mix of adults and children. Just a 2-minute walk from the bus stop is a popular patisserie called "Tatsuhito Satoi," which always ranks high in Kyoto's "delicious cake ranking." The owner chef, Mr. Satoi, comes from the popular Kanagawa shop "Sweets Garden Yuji Aziki." Surprisingly, they not only offer sweets but also freshly baked bread in equal measure. I was not expecting such a variety of viennoiseries! Trying to contain my excitement, I calmly chose my sweet treat of the day: - Cubeule for 530 yen - Iced cafe latte for 350 yen The prices here are surprisingly reasonable, making me almost forget that I'm in Kyoto. Nowadays, it's not uncommon for a single piece of petit gateau to cost over 1,000 yen. Perhaps these are Kyoto University student prices. I wanted to try Cubeule this season. It consists of French chestnut mousse and crispy biscuit with a cassis confiture accent. While rich and sticky chestnut paste is trending, this chestnut mousse has an elegant taste with a restrained sweetness that is light and not overwhelming, making it delicious. The girl sitting next to me, who looked like a student, was enjoying both croissants and cake with a satisfied look on her face! It's unfair that both the cakes and bread are so delicious here. I was surprised to see that they also offer shaved ice and parfaits on the menu. The stylish and comfortable interior features a counter seat by the window and bench seating along the wall. It must be a battle to get a seat during the day. I had a luxurious and leisurely time in the morning. Thank you for the meal.

I passed by it and finally arrived at Croissant seeking for croissants: once again, I was disappointed. They also offer morning sets, shaved ice, and sweets. I tried the rich chocolate ganache cake, and the biscuit part was delicious too. "Supreme" energy boost.

Located about a 15-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station, this shop is said to have been visited by customers from Kanagawa Prefecture's Sweets Garden Aziki Yuji. The shop offers cakes, bread, shaved ice, and parfaits. Oregano Focaccia - 270 yen, Cream Chocolat - 230 yen, Shokupan Complet - 320 yen, Baked Cheese Tart - 530 yen, Earl Grey - 540 yen. The Earl Grey comes with Earl Grey tea brulee and ganache cream, smooth and fragrant, very delicious. The Baked Cheese Tart features rich cream cheese and almond tart, a well-balanced and tasty treat. The bread is all delicious in a good way. The Cream Chocolat is recommended for cream lovers as it contains both chocolate and custard. A shop that would be great to have in the neighborhood for various occasions. I would like to revisit if given the chance.

After finishing eating ramen at Mastani, I walked west and discovered this place that was newly selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops in 2023. They have cakes displayed in the showcase, as well as hard bread and sandwiches available for eat-in. They also have baked goods, making it suitable for everyday use or as souvenirs. This time, I had the Earl Grey cake for 540 yen and took out the cream pan chocolat for 230 yen, with an additional 5 yen for a plastic bag. The Earl Grey cake had a tea aroma throughout with layers of chocolate mousse, creating a complex and delicious taste that felt very adult-like. The cream pan chocolat, when refrigerated and eaten the next morning by splitting it open, brought back memories of the two-color cream pan from the past, with a deep and delightful flavor. I look forward to trying their shaved ice and parfaits next time.

I visited for shaved ice! This was my second time here. They start serving shaved ice every June, and you can choose two flavors: Pistachio Cherry or Caramel Mocha Cappuccino. This time, I chose the latter. Even though it's not a shaved ice specialty shop, the ice is fluffy and very delicious! The coffee jelly cubes are a nice touch. The only downside is that the wooden spoon makes it a bit hard to eat. Their cakes and bread all look delicious, so I will definitely come back again.

After strolling around Ginkaku-ji, I walked a little and ended up here. It's my second time, but I always get nervous because it's a small eat-in space and I wonder if there will be empty seats. The Cake Honey Hunt was delicious with a rich honey flavor, not too sweet, and had a nice mousse texture. This place has become my go-to tea spot when I'm in this area.

Additional note: I used the morning service. They can warm up the bread for you. There are 5 counter seats and 2 sofa seats, so it's a bit limited, but it's relaxing for a morning visit. There are blinds for those who are not comfortable with the street view in front. Even the cakes have a line forming by 8:00... They have a good variety of bread in the morning. When do they rest... Morning is good. The cafe is of course good. It's convenient that they are always open for buying gifts. The bread is delicious, and the cakes are of high quality. They even have shaved ice in the summer. What a strong shop... ⭕Combo plan: After having the morning service, I leisurely walked from the Philosophers' Path to Nanzen-ji Temple and then to the Biwako Sosui Canal. It's recommended to visit during the less crowded green and red leaves season. If you have time, visiting Mt. Daimonji might also be nice.

After visiting the Shigemori Mirei Garden Museum at the foot of Yoshida Mountain, we passed through Kyoto University and arrived at a small eat-in space inside a patisserie selling bread and cakes. I was nervous to see if there were any available seats, but luckily, a two-person table was open. I ordered a strawberry shaved ice with plenty of pistachio foam. The pistachio foam was not too sweet, allowing you to enjoy the strawberry pulp, juice, and aroma, making it a refreshing treat. I forgot to take a picture, but my friend said the cake was also delicious.

After having lunch in Shiga, we stumbled upon a cake shop called "Patisserie Tatsuhito Satoi" and decided to stop by for coffee and sweets. They have a seating area where you can enjoy drinks, cakes from the showcase, and sometimes parfaits or shaved ice. We decided to share a cake and a parfait. As a chocolate lover, I particularly enjoyed the cake. It was moist and rich in chocolate flavor, with a hint of bitterness that was just right for a post-meal sugar boost. The shop also sells bread, which looked tempting. The only downside was the lack of nearby parking, but it's definitely worth a visit. I'd love to come back again.

Homemade Lemon Squash Baked Cheesecake Tart. Both the bread and cake were delicious, as well as the parfait. This time, I tried the cake, and it's been a while since I had cheesecake! It was delicious. Also, the lemon squash was refreshing, sweet, and sour, which was delicious.

Located near the Kyoto University Faculty of Agriculture campus along Imadegawa Street. It's easy to miss because it doesn't have a standout appearance. I bought a cream bun and a oregano bacon bun. The cream bun looked fluffy, so I was expecting the cream to overflow, but it actually had a good amount of cream inside. It was easy to eat with a rich custard flavor. The oregano bacon bun had chunks of bacon in a hard bread. It was very satisfying. It seems they also serve parfaits and shaved ice in the summer. The cakes in the showcase looked delicious too.

I occasionally use the shop near my workplace. Today, I bought three items for lunch. Egg sandwich: I always buy it for lunch. The spiciness is just right, and the saltiness is good. The fresh and crispy cucumber, ham, and egg blend together in a harmonious way. It's a taste that I always crave, even though it's not flashy. It's reasonably priced at 230 yen. Earl Grey croissant: It has Earl Grey flavored chips on top. The filling is packed tightly, with a subtle sweetness and delicious taste, but personally, I prefer a simple croissant with the flavor of butter. Matcha red bean bun: A red bean bun with a fragrant matcha aroma. It has plenty of moist red bean paste inside a chewy dough. The hard dough requires a bit of effort to eat, but the matcha aroma stimulates the senses and makes you feel happy. It's a charming bread that is worth the effort. This shop also excels in cakes, with popular seasonal parfaits and summer shaved ice praised by colleagues. It's an all-around player shop that is worth visiting, with changing times and offerings.

Was able to enter right away. ~ Couple Points ~ Sharing is possible if each person orders one item ~ Taste etc ~ This time I tried the chestnut base and it was delicious from the first bite. I had cake for breakfast at a place near Kyoto University. They also had an eat-in space. I ordered a Cassis Mule for 510 yen and a hot coffee for 270 yen. I was drawn to the alluring wine-red color of the Cassis Mule. The acidity of the cassis and the aroma of the mule complemented the elegant cake. The coffee had a tangy flavor, which paired well with the acidity of the Cassis Mule. It's a very stylish place. Thank you for the meal.

Every year, I always have Christmas cake and summer shaved ice here. The bread and sweets are all delicious with no disappointments, but the pistachio cream on this shaved ice is the best and highly recommended. The seating in the store is limited, but it's not too crowded as it's a bit far from the station and not really a tourist spot.

During my stay in Kyoto, it is a tradition for me to always buy a cake or quiche at least once. I would be extremely happy if there was a shop nearby. I particularly like cakes with a strong honey flavor, so I make sure to buy one every time. Although I don't have a photo, the bread is also delicious, and when I gave it as a souvenir, it was very well received.

I visited Patisserie Tatsuhitosato. I ordered Earl Grey and coffee for eat-in. The Earl Grey had a good tea flavor and was elegant and delicious. If you visit, I think taking the bus is better. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the seasonal parfait. It was a strawberry parfait with rich and delicious pistachio ice cream that had a nutty flavor. At the bottom, there was a jelly-like substance with a texture similar to agar. While each component was tasty, I was a bit unsure about how well all the elements came together as a parfait. It was disappointing that there was no information about what was included in the parfait on the menu.

The space in front of the shop is a bit cramped, but there is some space. There is a coin parking nearby. When you cross a small step and pass through the sliding door, you will find cakes across the street, bread and sandwiches on the right, and baked goods on the left. There is also a cafe space for eating in, and they will warm up the bread for you. Depending on the season, they may also have shaved ice and parfaits. They are open from morning to night without closing on Wednesdays. If you need a gift or just for everyday use, you can always think, "Let's go to Tatsuhito's." The Fondant Chocolat at Saotobo is warmed up and delicious. The name, which represents a volcanic vent, is stylish, and the chocolate is not too rich, so it remains delicious until the end. I have tried almost all the cakes, and they are all delicious and satisfying in terms of cost, appearance, and taste, priced around ¥500. The texture and fruit flavor are also good, and I feel like there are many layers to enjoy. The decorations with Jivara chocolate are fun. The croissants have a crispy texture, and the complex layers make you want to comment on how many layers there are. When you chew, you can taste the fermented butter, the chewiness, and the taste of wheat, making it very satisfying. I often have the shrimp and cheese croissant and the matcha anpan. The bread is small but priced consistently. Personally, I am grateful for a shop that offers so many choices and is open for business. I hope they can continue running the shop for a long time without getting sick.

Cake shop near Kyoto University. Over 10 beautiful cakes on display. Second visit. Upon entering, all staff are busy cooking. Oh, excuse me. For dine-in, pay at the case. There's a dark and messy bread corner next to it, maybe they should consider organizing it better. Ordered "Picasso" cake. With coffee, it's in the 800 yen range, affordable. Cafe space is fairly clean. The cake tastes delicious. Rich, sweet and sour, well-balanced. The cake is high quality, but other aspects could be improved. Like an artist with great work but struggles with self-expression.
