I visited the new yakitori restaurant "Jittan" in Nishi Nakasu for dinner. I ordered vinegar motsu, salad, and a set of 10 assorted skewers. The chicken hearts were crispy with no unpleasant smell, the seseri had a good bounce to it, the bonjiri was nicely crispy with a good amount of fat, the momo or furi-sode had a strong umami flavor, the bara was juicy and flavorful, the skin was slightly undercooked but tasty, the liver was rare and juicy, and the tsukune was a flavor bomb made from chunks. Overall, it was a great addition to the competitive yakitori scene in Nishi Nakasu.

The atmosphere is calm and you can leisurely enjoy the morning-grilled chicken skewers. There are shredded cabbage and grated daikon for palate cleansing, so you can enjoy each skewer one by one. This time we visited Jyukasu, a charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant located at 2-18 Nishinakasu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. The exterior has a calm and luxurious feel. Inside, there is a counter and a tatami area in the back. They grill the chicken right in front of you at the charcoal grill. We started with a toast with a draft beer! The thin glass felt nice against the lips. We ordered the charcoal-grilled Tataki of Toyoniku's chicken, priced at 1078 yen, with cuts from the thigh and breast. It was served rare in the center. For Toyoniku's chicken, we also tried the thigh (385 yen), breast (385 yen), and wing tips (418 yen). The thigh was juicy and tender, the breast was well-cooked, and the wing tips were boneless, showing the effort put into preparing them. We also had chicken liver (275 yen), seseri (220 yen), and tsukune (462 yen), all delicious and flavorful. The charcoal-grilled camembert with honey (418 yen) was a unique and tasty dish. The potato salad with bacon (660 yen) had a good amount of bacon, but the sweetness of the potatoes was slightly lacking. We also tried the red eggplant (308 yen) and buttered potatoes (418 yen). Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Second visit. A yakitori restaurant in Nishi-Nakasu. I hadn't been here since I visited two and a half years ago, so it was a long overdue visit. The heart and the chicken breast are delicious! The chicken breast can be eaten with plum or wasabi, but the plum here is very tasty! The potato salad with half-cooked egg on top is the best.

I was taken to this restaurant by a business acquaintance, so I couldn't take photos of the food. They used Oita's "豊の軍鶏" (Toyono shamo chicken) to make their yakitori, and the quality was exceptional. Although I don't have any photos, every part of the chicken we ordered was delicious. The side dishes were also very tasty. I'm sure I'll want to go back there again. I found a great restaurant in the Nishi Nakasu area. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant Jusanko Nakasu. You can enjoy the famous Tori no Toyo no shamo chicken. The exterior and counter of the restaurant have a nice atmosphere. They use freshly ground chicken in the morning. They also pay attention to details such as condiments like sansho pepper. Since this was the second or third stop of the day, I couldn't eat a lot, so I had chicken sashimi and a few skewers with sake. Unfortunately, the chicken sashimi I was looking forward to was not great, especially the preparation of the heart was lacking. The skewers were decent. It's nice how they sandwich the onion, giving it a Hakata vibe! Note that the Tori no Toyo shamo chicken will cost a little more. Next time, I will try ordering mainly grilled chicken. I was invited to a yakitori restaurant in Shingetsu Nishi Nakasu in 2021, so I headed there. It's a popular street around here♪ This time, I sat in a small raised seating area in the back, which was a bit tight for me. The menu features various items like jidori chicken, chicken freshly pulled in the morning, pork, beef, seafood, reflecting the yakitori culture in Fukuoka. I started with beer and enjoyed some sweet potato shochu as well. We ordered dishes like the special potato salad, jidori chicken with leeks, chicken liver, pork with white intestine, and pork with natto. I didn't take photos of everything we ordered. The potato salad was a fancy and delicious dish. The yakitori was all well-cooked with good quality meat, and it was tasty. The variety of options to choose from is a big attraction, and I can see why it's so popular. I'll definitely come back to enjoy a leisurely meal at the counter. It feels like the energy is coming back to Nakasu♡

In this area of Nishi Nakasu, there are many hidden gem restaurants. Among the many yakitori shops, this one is also a popular spot. Even on this day, it was quickly filled up, with many people being turned away. I've been wanting to try it for about 2 years now, but it's always been full whenever I peeked inside. Finally, one Sunday night around 9 p.m., I managed to get a seat. I had chicken sashimi, a mix of thigh and breast meat yakitori, including thigh meat, gizzard, pork belly, tail, skin, heart, tsukune, liver, chicken wings, and quail. They also provided homemade yuzu pepper, ponzu, and crushed plum for dipping. The yakitori, cooked carefully over charcoal, was served one skewer at a time. I'm not a fan of the skin, but the rest was juicy and delicious. The tender quail was particularly tasty. I had two highball whiskies, sake called "Tattaka," and a side of shredded cabbage for 600 yen. The total came to 5400 yen. There were a few solo diners at the counter, and I'll definitely be back when I'm craving yakitori again. After dining at this place in Nishi Nakasu, we heard that the tempura restaurant Kappo Roku (formerly known as Kappo Raku) and the neighboring 2nd-floor bar S are part of the same group. So, naturally, we headed over to the bar next door. I've been to Kappo Roku a while back, and it was a nice place with about 6 counter seats. I might visit the new restaurant soon too.

On a certain day in January, the third day in Hakata, second night spot Mori: Before going to Hakata, we had discussed whether it was okay to go solo on the third day at this time. After enjoying delicious sushi at Haruyoshi, we had decided to go our separate ways. In fact, we had made plans to have dinner with the lovely Madonna M-sama around 8:00 pm. If asked if we wanted to monopolize M-sama, the answer would be yes! We had decided to go together as it seemed like M-sama wouldn't enjoy a lively group setting. Even among the beautiful women of Hakata, M-sama stands out with her exceptional beauty. Oh, thank you, God! It's truly a miracle to be able to have a meal with such a wonderful woman in this lifetime. Even Kaiji would be restless with excitement. I'm so nervous that I'm sweating nervously. The meeting time is 8:00 pm, but it's only 6:40 pm now. Let's go to one more place to lift our spirits. "Charcoal-grilled Chicken Jyusumori"! This is a special place that a gentleman from Hakata had taken me to before. I had considered bringing M-sama here when we decided to have dinner together. The restaurant was almost full when we entered, and I thought we might have to come back later, but there was one seat available at the counter. I greeted the manager briefly, but he probably doesn't remember me. Well, it's not surprising that he remembers the gentleman more than me. It's our first time visiting alone tonight, so let's keep it light. Now, for today's order: Chicken thigh - 350 yen, Chicken neck - 200 yen, Chicken heart - 200 yen, Quail - 150 yen, Draft beer - 600 yen, Homemade lemon sour - 600 yen. The Hakata local chicken is incredibly juicy and delicious. The meat of Hakata chicken is usually firm, and depending on how it's grilled, it can become tough, but this one was grilled to perfection, thanks to the charcoal and the griller's skill. The service by the male staff, as always, is pleasant and welcoming, suitable for gatherings of men, bosses and subordinates, friend groups, and even adult dates. It's definitely a great place for any occasion. I wanted to stay a little longer, but we have an event to attend later. I'll definitely come back for a leisurely visit next time. In December, on the first night in Hakata, we went to 5 places in quick succession: sushi, gyoza, pub, bar, enjoying a lively pub crawl. The first night flew by in no time, reaching the peak before the day changed. One of the places we visited before the day changed was "Charcoal Grilled Chicken Jyusumoku." I have been greatly assisted by a gentleman in Hakata for a while now. He recommended this place to me when I first visited in February this year. We also visited together in June. This time, I informed him that I was going to Hakata, but due to his increased workload, I didn't expect to accompany him. As expected, he said, "I won't be able to join you this time...I'm sorry." Of course, it was disappointing, but I was grateful for his company every time, and I didn't really mind. While we were exchanging messages, the gentleman called me! "I have to work early tomorrow, so I can't stay long, but how about going now?" he said. ...Seriously? A few tens of minutes later, we reunited for the first time since June. Tonight, I am with him as the second person after Sakai-san. Ah...he seems to be glowing (*´Д`) He said, "When I declined, what was I thinking! You came all the way from Sendai, and just because I have to work early tomorrow, that's not a reason to refuse!" Honestly...I was touched. There are not many men like him with such manly spirit. We then passionately discussed each other's recent work over delicious drinks. Oh, by the way. Even though this is a food blog, I tend to ramble about things other than "food"...Tonight's Jyusumoku was also delicious!! The charcoal-grilled chicken, perfectly cooked over charcoal, is of a very high level. The Hakata chicken itself is delicious, of course, but there's something more to it. When I first came, it was already delicious, but...they've really stepped up their game. I may sound a bit pretentious, but I really think so (*'∀') The staff is as handsome as ever, and the shop itself seems to have gained a certain status. The service is friendly and there's no arrogance, making it a wonderful yakitori restaurant that fits perfectly in Nishi Nakasu's atmosphere! It's a recommended place that you won't regret visiting! There is a yakitori restaurant in the trendy area of Nishi Nakasu that I visited for a meal with my business associates. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a visible grilling area at the counter. We opted for a course menu this time, and while I was too engrossed in conversation to take photos or remember all the details, I can say the yakitori and the sesame mackerel were truly delicious. They apparently use chicken that is freshly sourced in the morning, which explains the freshness of the ingredients. The meat was grilled to perfection, tender and juicy. I would love to visit again and try their a la carte menu as well. I heard they have a sister restaurant serving Japanese cuisine in Nishi Nakasu too, so that's on my list to explore next time. The course was 3500 yen and it was ordered smoothly and delicious. It was just the right amount for me. Dining with a friend, it was a small quiet restaurant where we could sit at the counter and talk slowly. I thought it was a nice place.
