On this day, I decided to visit "Yakitori Yashichi" on a whim.
◇ Exterior and Interior
This yakitori restaurant is located in Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. It is a popular yakitori restaurant in the city known for its quality. The exterior has a traditional Japanese style with a striking white noren curtain, and the interior is also traditionally Japanese. It is clean and well-maintained, with subtle yet elegant indirect lighting creating a mature atmosphere. The restaurant is non-smoking, with ashtrays available outside.
◇ Seating
There are 8 counter seats, 4 tables for 4 people, and 4 tables for 2 people. There is also one private room at the back.
◇ Menu Structure
It seems that they only have a regular menu, with the daily recommendations listed at the top. The menu mainly consists of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), appetizers, fried dishes, sashimi, rice dishes, etc. They only serve motsunabe (tripe hot pot). The items I ordered are as follows:
- Goma Kanpachi (880 yen)
- Yakimono (grilled dishes): Yotsumi, Sunazuri, Torikawa (150 yen)
- Tori Kimo, Tori Nankotsu, Uzura no Tamago (160 yen)
All the grilled dishes were cooked to perfection, and each skewer was delicious. The standout dishes were the Tori Kimo (chicken liver) and Tori Nankotsu (chicken cartilage), which were both exceptionally tasty. The Torikawa (chicken skin) was crispy and flavorful, but not dry. The only regret I had was that they had run out of aprons.
◆ Strong Points
Delicious yakitori!
◆ Service
The staff were energetic and friendly, which was a refreshing change.
◆ Summary
I had always wanted to visit this yakitori restaurant, and it lived up to its reputation as a top-quality establishment. The diverse clientele, including families, shows that it has become a local favorite. Personally, I was a bit concerned about the limited sake selection, but I would love to visit again when I have more time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
