It's a cafe in Keisei Tateishi! It's located near the Katsushika Police Station. When it's open, you can see a sign at the entrance of the alley behind the Katsushika Police Station. To be honest, it's just a dead end in a residential area, so without the sign, no one would ever walk down this road! Once you enter a regular house, there's a front entrance where it seems like you need to take off your shoes before going to your seat. It's a house-turned-cafe, with the kitchen or cooking area right next to the seats, completely visible. The air conditioning is just a fan, giving off a nostalgic countryside house vibe. They claim to be a cafe with homemade coffee and cheesecake, so I decided to order the Basque cheesecake set. Since there were no other customers, there was a sense of quietness, but the lively conversations of the young staff members gave a festive atmosphere to the place! Now, about the taste... I'm not sure what beans they used, but the iced coffee had a low bitterness with a hint of acidity. The Basque cheesecake had a perfect firmness and a nice texture. Usually, cheesecakes tend to crumble and become difficult to eat, but this one was moist and not too crumbly, making it easy and delicious to eat. It was a slightly unusual cafe, but everyone seemed to enjoy working there, creating a pleasant atmosphere where no one felt the need to be overly cautious. It would be even better if they had a more diverse menu, making it a more frequented spot.

「一期一食」

A cafe and multipurpose space renovated from a tin toy factory. Located in the middle of Keisei Tateishi, Ohanachaya, and Yotsugi. The number at the end of the name seems to be from the address. Check the official Instagram for operating hours before visiting around 2:00 PM on Saturday. Inside the store, under subdued lighting, there are three sofa seats and a counter in the back. I ordered a Costa Rica coffee for 500 yen. It's a medium-deep roast, and although it has been sitting for a bit, it has a wonderful aroma and tastes delicious. The staff and regular customers are exchanging local information, creating a great atmosphere. The coffee is delicious, and the ambiance is pleasant, so I'll relax a bit longer. I also ordered a "Shitamachi Highball" for 500 yen, which was created in collaboration with Mr. Eiguchi, a archaeologist with a deep knowledge of the drinking establishments in Tateishi. It's made with barley shochu, cut lemon, a hint of plum syrup, and local Katsushika's Drink Nippon carbonated water. It's refined and elegant, with a slightly firm taste. I mentioned that I was planning to drink in Tateishi later, and the staff and regulars kindly provided me with information. The recommended place was full, so I ended up deciding to go to a familiar Edo-style pub, but I now have more places to look forward to next time. True to its name, Base is a place where you can relax and feel at home, making you want to come back again. The coffee and alcohol are reasonably priced and delicious, making it a great place. Next time in Tateishi, I'll make sure to visit the nearby Kurai Store and come back here.
