One of the best places in Fukuoka for delicious fish is Hirao Shoten. They serve amazing sashimi and grilled fish that is simply exquisite. I always make sure to visit when I'm in Fukuoka. The recommended dishes for the day were sea bass and sweetfish, both with crispy skin and tender inside. Pairing them with recommended sake was a perfect match. You can enjoy a sashimi platter, appetizers, and all the sake you want for less than 4000 yen, making it really reasonable.

A little away from Hirao Station, there is a grilled fish restaurant with a nice exterior that indicates it's a delicious place. Inside, there are counter and table seats, and the customers are mostly young women with a few older men mixed in. The menu mostly consists of fish dishes, like soy sauce-marinated shrimp and straw-grilled bonito sashimi with myoga and garlic. The salt-grilled sweetfish is so big that you'd want to take a big bite. It's more of a place to go with girlfriends rather than for a date.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted with enthusiasm and excellent service. We sat at the counter since there were two of us. I ordered a single serving of sashimi, but they kindly gave us two servings of bonito straw-grilled as a service. The staff's attention to detail and care with our drinks made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Even if the food is delicious, bad service can ruin the whole experience, but this place was exceptional. I would definitely want to come back again thanks to the outstanding service. The complimentary appetizer was warm boiled spinach. The lemon sour, beer, and sake were all delicious. The grilled sardine was large and flavorful. The deep-fried fish cake and thick fried tofu were also generously sized and perfectly complemented by grated daikon radish and bonito flakes. We spent around 8,000 yen for two people. Highly recommended restaurant!

Today I visited Hiraoshoten. This place is located right next to Hira Station, making it easily accessible. I highly recommend their grilled fish, as the name suggests! The recommended dish of the day was a huge sardine! It was so big that I thought, "Is this really a sardine?!" The taste was amazing, and the grilling technique was outstanding! I was truly impressed by the deliciousness. They also have a great selection of Japanese sake, and it's nice to enjoy it at the counter. I will definitely visit again. The other day, I visited Yaki Sakana Hirao Shoten in Fukuoka! It is located just a 2-minute walk from Nishitetsu Hirao Station. I enjoyed various dishes such as dashi konnyaku, sashimi, sand liver yukke, and potato salad. The owner's service was good and the food was delicious, so I had a good impression! Eating at the counter seat where they cook in front of you was also nice! I will visit again soon.

I visited the 22nd store, Yaki Uo Hirao Shoten, to learn how to become popular with women! Even though it was my third stop that day and I was quite full, I still managed to enjoy the delicious food. The konjac served at the beginning was surprisingly tasty. I ordered a 4-piece sashimi platter, but they brought me a 5-piece one at the same price, which was a nice surprise. Despite it being my third stop, I was very satisfied with the meal! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also to my liking, and I hope to bring my girlfriend here someday.

I wanted to eat grilled fish, so I went to "Yaki Sakana Hirao Shoten." The atmosphere of the restaurant was great. I ordered various dishes, but the eel was excellent! I ate up all the eel they had in the restaurant, haha. The rice cooked in the clay pot was also amazing. I will definitely go back soon. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Hello, I'm the gourmet yokai Hage Kappa♪ This time, I will introduce you to the robatayaki restaurant "Yaki Sakana Hiraoshoten." I drank quite a bit of alcohol, starting with a draft beer! Next was a mega highball...haha For the food, we ordered a variety of dishes, but personally, the eel skewers were cheap and amazing. We finished off with silver rice cooked in a feather pot! Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and I definitely want to go back again♪ I highly recommend that everyone give it a try♡

This was my first time visiting this place. The restaurant is located on a corner lot, with a U-shaped counter seat and table seats inside. I sat at the counter seat. We started with a toast with draft beer and ordered a variety of dishes that caught our eye. The eel was incredibly delicious (*´꒳`*) and all the other dishes were also delicious♪ It was nice to be able to see the hearth in front of us where the food was being cooked*\(^o^)/* The head chef was also friendly and very nice (*´∇｀*) I would like to visit again♪

Hirao Station is close by, but the shop is located in a residential area and shines warmly on its own. When you enter the shop, you are greeted by lively staff around a sunken hearth counter! The energy is high as soon as you enter (^｡^) You are guided to the counter and order a drink while looking at the menu. Despite the small size of the shop, the menu is extensive and I had a hard time deciding (ﾟωﾟ) The recommended sashimi assortment, eel skewers, and grilled Kinmedai were all delicious! The potato salad with eel sauce was also tasty. The fish was fresh, and the Kinmedai was plump and juicy! I want to try the Kinugasaba next time. I will definitely visit again!

Hirao's popular izakaya, "Hirao Shoten," is located near Hirao Station on the corner of Chikuhishindo. Although the address is in Takamiya, Minami-ku, it's still considered Hirao. This charming izakaya is a renovated old house with a charcoal grill surrounded by a U-shaped counter. I started with a draft beer and some edamame as a snack. The edamame was delicious. The beer glass had an angel ring, a sign that they are ready to reopen. I recommend the sashimi or grilled fish. I opted for the sashimi trio for 680 yen plus tax. They actually gave me four pieces instead of three. The standout was the kinmedai and hirame engawa. It seems like these two types of sashimi are quite costly. For my second drink, I chose a glass of Nambu Bijin sake for 500 yen plus tax. It was crisp and paired well with the fish. Slowly but surely, izakayas are starting to reopen.

The original charcoal-grilled shop changed to a grilled fish shop? I visited to see how it was for a while and enjoyed fresh sashimi and straw-grilled fish. It's nearby so I keep going back. It's a healthy restaurant where you can get protein from fish.

Sashimi was not fresh. Skewers were overcooked. The eel they sell is of terrible quality. It was a level where I didn't even want to give a star.

I found out from a friend's Instagram that a nearby restaurant started offering delicious bento boxes for a limited time due to the COVID state of emergency. I decided to order takeout. I messaged them on Instagram on the same day and they confirmed that they still had some available, so I went to pick them up around 7:30 pm. The bento box had eel with shredded egg on top, along with shiso leaves and small pieces of pickled vegetables on the rice. The eel was fragrant and delicious. In addition to the bento box, they also included miso soup and a bonus potato salad. It costs 2,000 yen per serving, so it's not cheap, but I think it's worth it for a treat like this once in a while.

I enjoyed the lively atmosphere of this charcoal-grilled restaurant at the counter. It reminded me of the days at a bar in Kofu. I wonder if I'll go again. @sakabahibi
