Located just a 1-minute walk from Hirao Station, this restaurant is in a convenient and popular area. The head chef, who trained at the well-known restaurant "Yakitori Yashichi," has opened his own place. The exterior gives off a stylish vibe, and inside, customers are chatting happily at the counter where you can see the ingredients being grilled over charcoal. I was drawn in and decided to try it out. Despite the upscale appearance, the menu turned out to be surprisingly affordable. Each dish was well-prepared, and I could truly savor the flavors. I recommend the Yotsumi (130 yen), Gyuhangari skewers (480 yen), and grilled rice ball (250 yen). The grilling technique and seasoning were perfect, and watching the chef work was like witnessing a true craftsman at work. The head chef was friendly and even recommended some sake and wine selections. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal from start to finish and will definitely be bringing friends next time.

Located in Fukuoka City, Chuo-ku, Hira 2-3-15 area, just a 5-minute walk from Nishitetsu "Hirao Station"! The restaurant owner trained at "Yakitori Hachibei" and "Yakitori Yashichi" before opening "Rokkakudo"! I wonder if there is a reason for their obsession with the numbers 876 in kanji? I'd like to ask about it next time... During the day, it is known as "Hirao Hamburg" and is a popular homage restaurant that always has a line. I visited this yakitori restaurant. The exterior is on the first floor of a mixed-use building! Inside, there are counter seats, table seats, and semi-private table seats! In the center, there is a prominent grill that adds a sense of presence to the open kitchen - an atmosphere that yakitori lovers will love. We tried the recommended specialty series from the manager first! We started with "Horse Sashimi" and "Goma Kampachi" paired with beer for a toast. Don't underestimate a yakitori restaurant! The "Goma Kampachi" is highly recommended! Next, the "Chicken/Salt Tataki Sashimi" made from morning-pulled chicken was excellent! The breast, gizzard, thigh, all were fresh and delicious - they use the best chicken in Hakata. The skewers did not disappoint! The popular "Wagyu Sagari" had a rich and delicious taste that is a must-try. The "Chicken Liver" was perfectly grilled with a rare texture that was amazing! The "Negima" had a perfect balance of juicy chicken thigh and green onion. It was a lingering deliciousness. Finally, we tried the "Vegetable Rolls" and they were all delicious. This is a yakitori restaurant that I would like to visit occasionally! Thank you for the feast. Enjoy Gourmet Life☆

Delicious! This popular restaurant has limited seating, so reservations are a must. Sparkling wine is available starting at 3000 yen per bottle, making it reasonably priced. The grilled chicken liver is cooked perfectly here, once you try it, you won't be able to eat it anywhere else. I love it! I always get seconds. The chicken sashimi is also fresh and delicious.

I always use this place for yakitori! The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and feels like an adult yakitori place ^_^ Every menu item is delicious! The prices and taste are very well balanced! Yakitori and beer in the summer. The best, right? Thank you for the meal!

This is a place I always visit when I come to Hakata. I enjoy the seasonal vegetables here. Even my friend who doesn't like liver was raving about how delicious it was, so the liver dish is truly exceptional. The grilled rice ball at the end is cooked over binchotan charcoal, giving it a deliciously fragrant flavor. Overall, it's a satisfying restaurant from start to finish.

I had known about this restaurant for a while, but I visited it for the first time this time. When I called to check the availability, they said it would be fine in about 30 minutes, so I went. It's a popular place, so I think it's better to check in advance. I had dishes like chicken sashimi, yakitori, mentaiko rice...etc. The skewers were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The food was very delicious! However, despite informing them on the phone that I might arrive 15 minutes earlier than the reservation time and receiving confirmation, I ended up waiting outside for 15 minutes after arriving early. When I finally entered, it seemed like they had forgotten about the course reservation I made over the phone and had to check the tablet as if they just remembered. The chef and 2-3 female staff members were busy running around. The dishes were all tasty, but they were different from what was listed on the menu on Tabelog. I understand that the menu may change depending on the day, but it was a bit disappointing to receive 5 types of yakitori instead of the 7 listed, with an additional side dish, and no dessert as promised. Also, out of the 5 skewers, 2 were pork belly, which was unexpected. The customers next to us seemed unhappy when they were informed of the last food order 45 minutes before their 2-hour seating time was up. Overall, the food was delicious, but there were some disappointing aspects.

I visited Rokkakudo and the interior was clean, stylish, and calm. We ordered a course menu around 3500 yen and among all the dishes we tried, the liver was the best! It was so creamy and firm, my companion and I kept saying how amazing it was. The other skewers like heart and liver were also delicious, especially the liver. The quality of the ingredients and the grilling method must be really good. All the skewers had a strong charcoal flavor, and the sauce was light, letting the fresh and juicy ingredients shine. The only downside was that the atmosphere felt a bit cheap because the chef and staff were chatting. Overall, it was a great meal!

At the end of the year, I visited with two acquaintances! The taste is reliably delicious, but the interior of the restaurant was chaotic, and sometimes the teriyaki dish came out as salt-grilled... The dishes took a while to arrive... It was tasty, but the service and wait time were a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

The yakitori restaurant located at the intersection one stop before Hirao Station. I had been curious about it for a while. I sat at the counter and the customer service was very pleasant. The eggplant appetizer was delicious, and of course, the yakitori was excellent, especially the recommended liver and chicken tenderloin, which were large and fresh. Personally, the salted tataki with thick slices was exquisite. I forgot to take a photo. I will definitely visit again.

I came to Rokkakudo in search of a cold beer. The owner of this place trained at the famous yakitori restaurant Hachihei. The yakitori here is Hachihei-style, but personally, I prefer Rokkakudo's. Since the pandemic, they have changed their business to a hamburger specialty shop for lunch. They have a variety of dishes like sashimi and Italian food, aside from grilled dishes, all of which are delicious with attention to detail and creativity! Highly recommended are the classic chicken tataki and sesame amberjack sashimi! Thank you for the meal!

The yakitori at Hakata Ichiban Tori was delicious. Especially the liver and skin were tasty. The grilling was just right and had a good texture. The vegetables like asparagus, yam, and onions were sweet and delicious too. We also had bottled beer and two glasses of Sanzaka shochu highball, and the total bill for two people was 8200 yen. We thought it was a great deal for the quality of food we got.

I visited the restaurant without a reservation. I arrived at 5:30 and was told they could accommodate me until 7:00, so I was seated right away. The inside of the restaurant was clean and the staff's service was fantastic. It's a really great izakaya. I ordered chicken hearts, gizzards, neck meat, poached chicken sashimi, fried daikon, and various other dishes, and they were all delicious. I will definitely go back! ┈┈┈ Additional note: The drinks I ordered were draft beer, whiskey and coke, highball, and yuzu sake.

I'm near Nishitetsu Hirao Station!! I have a "dream" for myself... When I retire, I want to open a yakitori restaurant and grill yakitori (skewered chicken). At first, it would be a mobile yakitori shop like "Ryuho". I want to start by practicing skewering and grilling, learning the basics by grilling a thousand skewers, and then a few years later, I hope to have a small shop where I can see everything. This ideal vision matches perfectly with "Rokkakudo" here. It's been about 10 years since I last visited, but the open kitchen where you can see the cooking process, the stylish and affordable atmosphere, remains my ideal shop (*´∀`)
- Asahi Super Dry (draft beer) 500 yen x 4
- Pork belly 150 yen x 3
- Chicken skin 150 yen x 2
- Chicken liver 150 yen x 2
- Chicken neck 150 yen x 2
- Chicken heart 150 yen
- Cheese wrapped in chicken 200 yen
- Soft-boiled egg 250 yen
- Chicken soup rice with salted kelp 500 yen
- Chicken sashimi 600 yen
- Hakata mentaiko butter rice 450 yen
First, let's cheers with the draft beer!! The yakitori is mostly on point, and they serve it in a good timing with a time difference attack, which I appreciate (๑'ڡ'๑)୨ When in Fukuoka, pork belly is a must (laughs). "I like pork belly, chicken liver, chicken neck, and chicken heart!!" Watching the yakitori being grilled from above in the open kitchen is fun (*´∀`) They also offer horse sashimi and chicken sashimi, which are unique to Kyushu... everything was delicious. The atmosphere is nice, but the fact that it's not too formal and is in this price range matches the concept of the restaurant and my own preferences (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑ Alright, if I ever open a yakitori restaurant in the future, I want it to be like "Rokkakudo" haha. Thank you for the meal~♪【Tabelog】☆3.51【Tanuki Rating (night)】★Overall... 40 points★Atmosphere... 8 points★Food... 8 points★Menu variety... 8 points★Cost performance... 8 points★Likelihood to revisit... 8 points

All the recommended menu items were delicious, especially the grilled dishes with flavorful sauces. You can tell that each dish is carefully prepared. I usually prefer salt-based dishes at another restaurant, but when it comes to skewered chicken with sauce, I always come to Rokkakudo! Thank you for the wonderful meal! :)

The other day's record...Yaebei→Yashichi A restaurant run by someone who used to work at Yaebei. I have visited this place several times when I am in the area. I always make a reservation before visiting, as it can be difficult to get a table without one (due to limited seating). The prices are not too high, but not exactly budget-friendly either, so you won't see many students here. I had a variety of dishes like tsukune, yaki-torimeshi, sasami, shiitake, tomato skewers, and sunazuri. We also had a bottle of wine, which was reasonably priced and delicious. The staff were friendly and the overall cost-performance ratio was great. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

This is a stylish yakitori restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect for a date, with menu items that women would love. The yakitori is delicious and it's easy to overeat and overdrink. It's a popular spot, so we had to leave after two hours, but we would have stayed longer if there wasn't a time limit.

On this day, I casually visited "Rokkakudo Yakitori" for some yakitori.
Exterior and interior:
The exterior has a stylish design, which may not seem typical for a yakitori place, especially for those with a Kitakyushu mindset. However, I was drawn in by the signboard with the store name and decided to enter. The interior had a lively atmosphere, with a well-balanced layout of tables. It's unclear if it was a pre-existing space, but the arrangement of the table seats showed a sense of style.
Seating:
There are 12 counter seats and 3 table seats.
Menu structure:
The menu is divided into regular items and recommendations. It mainly focuses on yakitori and other chicken dishes, showing attention to detail. Additionally, there are classic dishes like horse sashimi and motsunabe, and the recommended menu items have a lighter chicken theme, possibly to cater to a wider range of customers. The items I ordered were as follows:
- Morning-pulled chicken tataki (600 yen)
I didn't have high expectations due to the price and the surprisingly long wait for it to be served. However, the taste blew me away. The tataki was unlike the typical ones, with a perfect balance of seared exterior and rare interior. Each piece was large yet tender, and the ponzu sauce and wasabi with yuzu pepper were excellent accompaniments. It seemed like great care and skill were put into the cooking process.
- Skewers and grilled items
I ordered items like sand lizard (130 yen), chicken liver, chicken skin, chicken heart (150 yen), etc. Some skewers were only available in pairs, which I found slightly inconvenient. However, the quality and pricing of each skewer were justified. The standout dish of the day was the chicken liver skewer, with a sauce that had a perfect blend of sweetness and richness, and the liver itself had a distinct flavor and freshness. The grilling technique was also spot on.
Strong points:
Experience high-quality yakitori here.
Service:
The service was neither too attentive nor distant. Personally, I felt that a bit more attentiveness would have been nice.
Overall:
Fukuoka City has many delicious restaurants! Enjoy refined dishes and a lively atmosphere while savoring delicious chicken. There seemed to be some issues with the restroom, but having a place like this nearby is a blessing. Thank you for the meal!

Rokkakudo, located a 3-minute walk from Nishitetsu Hirao Station, is a trendy restaurant with a stylish interior featuring counter seats and two tables in the back. Recently, the level of yakitori restaurants has really gone up. It's not just about having a few skewers of yakitori and getting drunk anymore. They have a well-made website and their attention to detail is impressive. They even mention on their website that they "breathe life into each skewer with charcoal". It's pretty cool!
Here are some of the dishes we tried:
[From the appetizer menu]
- Chicken liver sashimi cooked at low temperature 650 yen
- Sesame amberjack 700 yen
- Yama-imo (1 plate) 300 yen
- Hokkaido scallops with butter and soy sauce (served with rice) 700 yen
[Next, the skewers]
- Special wagyu sagari skewer 480 yen
- Chicken liver 150 yen
- Chicken skin 130 yen
- Yotsumi 130 yen
- Pork belly 150 yen
- Sunaguri 130 yen
- Daruma 180 yen
- Chicken cartilage 150 yen
- Lettuce wrap 250 yen
Looking at the prices, they are quite reasonable. Indeed, each skewer seemed to have life breathed into it. All the skewers were exquisite. Lastly, the "Scallops with butter and soy sauce & rice" we had as a finishing touch was certified as the best appetizer. It was incredibly delicious!
[Trends in modern trendy yakitori restaurants (not limited to this restaurant)]
1. Skewers with large pieces (feels like they are packed to the brim)
2. Serving chicken liver partially raw (possible due to freshness)
3. Skewers are flat or have the restaurant's name on them (investing in this?)
4. Attention to detail in salt and charcoal (can you tell the difference?)
5. Variety of rolled items (not just enoki mushrooms or cherry tomatoes, but also lettuce, thin green onions, camembert cheese, etc.)
6. Rare cuts of meat (which part of the chicken is that?)
But you know, I still love budget yakitori restaurants (80 yen to 100 yen) too, Yo!

This is my favorite yakitori restaurant in Fukuoka! Especially the chicken liver, you must try it when you go. It's really good. Not just the chicken liver, all the skewers were delicious...but it's a popular place so you need to make a reservation in advance. If I were taken on a date here, I would be over the moon. Everyone, please try it out! Thank you for the delicious meal ❤️

I was recommended by one of my followers to visit Yakitori Rokkakudo. Despite arriving late, I was able to secure a seat at the counter in the almost full restaurant. The yakitori here ranges from 130 to 180 yen, which is quite reasonable. The skewers are thick and well-cooked. The liver was fresh and had no unpleasant smell, and the tsukune (chicken meatballs) were delicious. Despite eating quite a lot, the bill was surprisingly cheap, in the 4000 yen range. It was delicious. I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!

This is my favorite yakitori restaurant. I used to go once a month when I lived nearby, but this visit was after a long time. Here are today's recommendations:
- Chicken liver (I prefer it well-cooked)
- Chicken cartilage (lots of meat on it)
- Gizzard (cooked just right!)
- Tsukune (with cartilage, goes well with the sauce and mustard)
- Seafood Sundubu (has a rich seafood broth)
- Scallop with shell (make a risotto-like dish with the leftover broth, it's amazing)
- Wagyu skirt steak skewer (tender and no unpleasant smell)
We finished with hot jasmine tea, which leaves a refreshing taste in the mouth. The staff, including the owner and male staff, are all very friendly and attentive. The service is excellent, and the overall experience in terms of taste, service, ambiance, and value for money is highly satisfying.
