This is a restaurant opened by a young owner who honed his skills at a Fukuoka City Chuo-ku Daimyo restaurant that follows the tradition of the long-established yakitori specialty store "Isehiro" in Tokyo. Therefore, there is no pork belly or pig feet like in Fukuoka-style yakitori restaurants (laughs). The chicken skewers, cooked carefully by each part, are served in a course style, paired with sommelier-selected wines and sake, offering a slightly luxurious adult-like yakitori experience. The restaurant is located about a 4-5 minute walk from Nishitetsu Yakuin Station and Subway Yakuin Station, and is also close to Subway Watanabe Station. It is located along a street lined with restaurants behind the electric building. The emergency declaration was lifted, and I had a meal at "Yakitori Yoshikawa" selected by a friend I hadn't seen in 11 years. The atmosphere is upscale, but thanks to the attentive and cheerful service of the owner and young staff, it doesn't feel intimidating. The interior has counter seats as well as table seats, and is spacious and suitable for the era of living with COVID-19. First, I enjoyed a delicious draft beer. The appetizer was boiled spinach. In the a la carte menu, chicken tataki seems to be a regular item, but on this day, they had sashimi, so I had a sashimi platter of chicken. It included chicken breast, gizzard, liver, and heart. It is eaten with soy sauce with quail eggs or sesame oil. They were all fresh and delicious. Normally, I just have one canned chu-hi at home, but on this day, it was a special dining out occasion, so I was in a celebratory mood! I had a variety of drinks including beer, sake, wine, and whiskey. I think these fresh chicken flavors and cooking are well suited for sake and wine. Senkei Junmai Daiginjo Genshu Bagged Hanging Tokkuri Surrounding Unfiltered Fresh Sake On this day, I had the yakitori course. It consists of appetizers, 9 skewers, salad, and soup. Rice dishes are not included, but if you want, they have a minced chicken rice bowl on the menu. In Fukuoka-style yakitori restaurants, the appetizer is cabbage with vinegar dressing, and the skewers are placed on top of the cabbage, but here, each skewer comes out on a plate. I sat at the counter in front of the grill, so I could see clearly, and they were very carefully cooked, with each skewer perfectly cooked to match the meat quality. The course starts with chicken breast. Lightly grilled with salt and topped with wasabi. Gizzard. Lightly grilled with a light sauce. I ordered a potato salad from the a la carte menu. It was a light salted potato salad, perfect for a palate cleanser. Sand liver. Grilled with salt. The course includes a salad. Quail egg. The yolk is a nice semi-soft texture. Wine is available by the bottle, but they also have a daily selection of white and red wines by the glass. Italian white wine by the glass. Negima. Thinly sliced chicken thigh wrapped with green onion, grilled with sauce. In between are shishito peppers and shiitake mushrooms. Italian red wine. Dango. A chewy texture without any fillers. This is probably heart. Grilled with sauce, it has a firm texture. Skin. Grilled with salt, crispy and juicy. Bonjiri. Juicy and delicious. Tebasaki. Easy-to-eat wings skewered open. Chicken soup. For those with room, they offer a minced chicken rice bowl as an additional order, which is perfect for finishing off the meal. Thank you for the meal.【Restaurant Name】Yakitori Yoshikawa【Address】1F Mato Tori Building, 2-3-27 Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture【Business Hours】17:00-23:00 *Please confirm【Closed】Tuesday *Please confirm*About a 4-5 minute walk from Nishitetsu/Subway Yakuin Station/Watanabe-dori Station.
