The cafe is currently closed, but they are still selling coffee beans. I love coffee and I visit various coffee shops that roast their own beans. My current favorite is "Suji Kin Coffee." I recommend it if you like strong roasts! Despite being roasted heavily, the coffee doesn't taste burnt and you can enjoy the complex flavors and aromas. I'm not an expert, but I think Suji Kin Coffee has great roasting techniques and beans. The only downside is that they can be a bit strict about how to brew the coffee. When you ask questions, they tend to stick to what is written, but I believe the owner is just shy and truly passionate about coffee.

I finally visited the coffee specialty shop that I had been curious about! Since it was only for takeout, I purchased the coffee beans "Suji Kin Blend". They taught me how to store the coffee beans and recommended extraction methods, and they also gave me a set of examples of grinding the beans and instructions on how to brew them, so I was able to easily try it at home! By mimicking the temperature setting and extraction method, I was able to brew a richer coffee than usual. I would recommend this shop to coffee lovers!

I just love this couple! As someone who couldn't drink black coffee, I finally found a real coffee at this shop! Each bean is carefully selected and full of love, truly delicious! The coffee beans are so carefully chosen, I can't drink any other coffee now haha

It is located about a 10-minute walk from Shimokitazawa Station, through a quiet residential area. There are confident signs posted all over the shop (lol). I couldn't resist and ended up getting a blended coffee to go. I think it was 648 yen. It took about 10 minutes to be ready. My expectations were quite high, but... well, it was just a coffee that was easy to drink. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back from Cafe Uzu, I saw a sign offering half-price coffee and decided to enter without hesitation. I ordered the "Sujigane Blend" for 216 yen. Despite the low price, the coffee was brewed fresh after I placed my order. It took about five minutes for them to carefully extract the coffee. There was a master-like person hand-picking beans at the storefront, while the actual extraction was done by another staff member in the back of the shop. The coffee was served in a paper cup for takeout, and it had a nice richness and good bitterness. It tasted lighter to me since I had just had a strong Nel Drip coffee with a lot of beans before, but it was definitely a cup with depth compared to the average. It's great to be able to enjoy this level of coffee for just a little over 200 yen. Overall, there are plenty of great coffee shops in Shimokitazawa.

Sorry ☺︎ There are also various instructions such as not using the restroom for a long time and closing the door properly, so it may not be suitable for those who want to relax.

It felt like unnecessary hostility for someone just planning to have a meal. It would be better to consider a more thoughtful way of conveying the rules. Other rules like closing the door properly, not using the restroom for extended periods, etc., were also posted. It felt like being in a school. Despite the attention to detail in the coffee and the incredibly delicious cheesecake, the cafe could be even better if it had a sense of hospitality and a more comfortable atmosphere. Criticizing Starbucks and Doutor, the review suggests that Starbucks offers a much better ambiance.

Takeout available. The sign said they take over 5 minutes to brew, so I was intrigued by their attention to detail and wanted to try it, but they only serve iced coffee in the summer. The iced coffee came out quickly, and the price remained the same. It had a nice deep roast flavor that I enjoyed, but it was a little bit muddy.

Shimokitazawa is a coffee bean shop located on the main street that I have been curious about for a while. I visited on a weekend when they offer eat-in service starting at 1 pm. Upon entering, I was greeted by a showcase of coffee beans. After waiting a few minutes on a bench near the entrance, I was directed to the cafe in the back. The interior had a sense of history with sturdy beams and pillars, and surprisingly, it had a spacious layout with a relaxed atmosphere. I was seated at the farthest table as instructed. I noticed there were quite a few signs posted, one of which stated that outside food and drink were not allowed, and if found, the customer would have to pay for their order and leave immediately. Another sign read, "This is not Doutor or Starbucks. No sleeping allowed as it irritates me!" The coffee I tried that day was the "Sujigane Blend" for 650 yen, which was described as the shop owner's vision of the most delicious coffee taste. It was made using specialty coffee beans and a unique amber ball extraction method, but unfortunately, it wasn't to my liking. I also had the special cheesecake set for 980 yen, which had a slightly powdery texture and lacked richness. Despite being a classic coffee shop space, the excessive signage detracted from the ambiance, and the service attitude of the staff left something to be desired. Delicious coffee is not just about the coffee itself but also the environment, hospitality, and overall experience, all of which need to come together to truly complete the experience.

They probably wanted to create a Shimokitazawa-like atmosphere. They seemed to want to create a good vibe. "Do not sleep here..." "No outside food or drink allowed, you will be asked to leave immediately." There were warning signs and fluorescent price tags. It may have been right after the store opened. The server brought water wearing disposable blue gloves. It didn't leave a good impression as I always wear those gloves when cleaning the litter box. I feel affection towards stores with hardworking staff, but not this one. They probably don't pay much attention to employee wages if they are concerned about the cost of beans. There was no need to mention the cheesecake. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, and the coffee didn't excel either. I don't deny the existence of stores with professional baristas making cappuccinos and friendly staff, the opposite of this store. Some people like that too. I need a cafe with great coffee and a relaxing atmosphere.

Muscle Coffee. It may sound complicated, but as long as it's within common sense, it's fine. Each person must order one cup of coffee for 650 yen or more, or a cheesecake set for 980 yen. I ordered the Muscle Coffee. It had a soft taste with a hint of sweetness, not too bitter. The cheesecake was a solid baked cheesecake. It was delicious, but nothing out of the ordinary. I think the true highlight of this place is the coffee.
