I have been visiting this famous restaurant since I was a child, and I visited it on its final day, marking the end of its nearly half a century of history (not closing down, but due to the building being demolished). There is a possibility of reopening in a different location, and I am eagerly waiting for its comeback. This restaurant is my number one favorite! I have tried all the menu items, and the standout dish for me is the tongue steak, which is absolutely delicious. The quality of the meat can vary, but on a good day, it melts in your mouth like no other. The simple seasoning of salt, pepper, and garlic enhances the flavor perfectly. The hamburger is also highly recommended, but during winter, the giant oyster fry is a must-try. The borscht is a unique dish here, and the salad dressing is tangy and rustic, which I love. The soups are also delicious. Everything about this place is charming and comforting, and I hope it will continue to thrive. I may be getting older now, but I will always remember the lively voices of the staff saying "thank you!" I am eagerly awaiting the restaurant's comeback. Grill Koyanagi forever!

I had the B lunch set! It included mini hamburg steak, pork shabu-shabu, chicken karaage, shrimp fry, salad, and pasta all on one plate. It felt like a great deal. The wakame soup with a hint of shiso was elegant and delicious. I thought the rice portion was a bit small, but in the end, I was full. The owner thanked me multiple times as I left, which left a strong impression. I will definitely go back. It was hard to take photos since I sat at the counter.

This is a traditional Western-style restaurant. I visited with my colleagues for lunch on a weekday, and it was quite crowded, indicating its popularity. We ordered the recommended B lunch, but it was not very satisfying that day. According to an acquaintance who frequents the restaurant, the menu can be hit or miss depending on the day, so I would like to try my luck and visit again. I am also curious about the steak lunch.

I came alone and ordered the B set that caught my eye after reading other people's reviews. It had white fish fry, macaroni gratin, pork piccata, and hamburger all served together. It's great for those who want to try a variety of dishes.

When you want to eat authentic Western food, this is the place to come. The steak is very delicious. Today, I ordered the pork cutlet curry. The curry and cutlet come on separate plates. A female staff member explained how to eat it to me. "Please only put as much cutlet on the curry as you can eat. If you put it all on, the crispy cutlet will become soggy." I followed her advice. Thank you for the meal.

I had a job in Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City. I arrived in Kokura earlier than planned because I left Fukuoka with plenty of time. The job site this time was near the Tanga Market, which suffered major damage from a fire. Many of the alleys leading to the market were closed off, and the blackened buildings visible from there indicated the extent of the damage. Anyway, once the work is done, it's time for lunch. I headed to "Grill Koyanagi," a place I had scouted out before work. The restaurant is located about midway between Tanka Station and Heiwadori Station on the monorail. I arrived at 12:10. Inside the restaurant, there were table seats along the left wall across the aisle, and counter seats facing the kitchen on the right. Since I was visiting alone, I was seated at the counter. The counter seats are divided into four sections, with two seats each. I felt I was a bit late for lunchtime, but I was able to sit down smoothly. The purpose of my visit was the highly rated B set (1,320 yen, tax included). The set contents are not fixed but are prepared using seasonal ingredients, like a lunch for adults resembling a children's lunch. I checked the menu just in case, but I couldn't find an A set. Was there one in the past? There were three staff members working. You can see the cooking process through the counter. The fish fry with cheese on top being sautéed on the frying pan caught my eye. The chef was holding a long rod with a gas pipe attached. Oh, flames were shooting out of it like a flamethrower. The plate was filled with fish fry, mini hamburger, ginger pork, cream croquette with edamame, and roast ham. Behind them were salad items. Truly a lunch for adults resembling a children's meal. (laughs) I dug in. The smoothness of the cream croquette was impressive, with a classic taste typical of a local Western-style restaurant. Oh, I found pasta underneath the hamburger! The B set was enjoyable even while eating. I enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

Well, my work in Kokura is done for the morning. Let's go grab some lunch. So, "Grill Koyanagi" it is. Oh, the retro exterior. Just my style. This looks promising. Upon entering, the interior is also, yes, exactly as expected, very retro. A reviewer in Kitakyushu that I follow mentioned, "You can't go wrong with the B lunch!" So, I ordered the B lunch (tax included 1320 yen). Here comes the B lunch. The contents are as follows: - Pork Piccata (with ginger sauce) - Hamburger (with tomato sauce) - White fish fry - Small shrimp macaroni gratin - Spaghetti - Roast ham - Salad (with a banana) - Rice, soup Oh, it's like a grown-up version of a kids' lunch, isn't it? Even as you get older, these kinds of platters still make you excited. Of course, the taste was delicious, and the portion was generous. Yes, I finished it all. The restaurant is run by an elderly couple and their son (?), I presume. When leaving the restaurant, they all bid us farewell with cheerful voices saying, "Thank you" "Thank you~". It's the little things like this that make the service great. This gives me something to look forward to when I come back to Kokura. The lovely Western-style cuisine in Kokura, "Grill Koyanagi", I'll be back again! P.S. There was no "A lunch" on the menu. (Why? Haha)

My partner said they want to eat at "Grill Koyanagi" and I agreed. So we went to this very delicious Western-style restaurant. First, you must try the B lunch set, it's a must. I let my partner choose one more dish while I took care of something quickly. Today's ordered menu: B lunch set - Merry-go-round plate. It looks good and tastes great, especially the lemon-flavored pork sauté. Yakiniku set - with four big slices of meat and a bed of crunchy cabbage. The sweet sauce was delicious. The soup was also tasty. The only downside was the rice quality, a bit disappointing. But overall, it's a very delicious restaurant. I really like it. Thanks for the meal. We'll definitely come back.

I found a place called "Grill" in the famous nightlife district that I rarely visit during the day. I parked my car at a nearby coin parking and decided to have lunch just before noon. The menu had a "B Brunch" option, which included pork sauté, a small hamburger, cream croquette, and quiche. It felt like a nostalgic meal for adults, almost like a children's lunch set. Even though I've been living in Kitakyushu for a long time, I wonder why I never knew about this restaurant before. I wonder if the "B" in "B Brunch" stands for variety, even though it looks like a "V" in terms of spelling.

I visited the restaurant at noon on a weekday, after more than 10 years. It was a crowded and popular place with a lively kitchen. I ordered the B lunch set, which had a variety of dishes. From my seat at the counter, I could see the chefs working diligently. The pork piccata was sliced fresh for each order, the hamburger was freshly grilled, and the lettuce was washed and torn for each order. The large plate included pork piccata with ginger sauce, hamburger, white fish fry, meatballs in tomato stew, salad, and apple. The dressing with apple sweetness was delicious. I was very satisfied and will definitely come back again.

B lunch 1320 yen, hamburger steak 1320 yen. I went to pick up a guest from out of town at Kokura Station and had lunch at this restaurant. I arrived at 11:10 and there were three former customers already inside. The restaurant had a retro Western-style atmosphere both inside and outside. I ordered the hamburger steak for myself and the B lunch for my companion. The hamburger was chunky with a good texture from the onions, which I liked. The demi-glace sauce had a slightly sour and rich flavor, making the hamburger quite tasty overall. The sunny-side-up egg was also good. My companion's B lunch included hamburger, white fish fry with tartar sauce, pork ginger stir-fry, and a mini gratin. At one point, my companion found the ginger stir-fry too sweet and offered me a piece, saying it was sweet. I replied, "Well, ginger stir-fry is usually sweet," and explained it to them. When we left, the owner said "Thank you!" in a very pleasant way. It was not the typical thank you you hear at a Japanese restaurant, but rather the thank you you would hear at a Western-style eatery. It left a strong impression on me. I had a pleasant meal today. Thank you very much. They do not accept electronic money. The Times Sakaimachi 2-chome parking lot where I parked accepts Suica. Now, off to Kurume and back in a flash. Hooray!

The restaurant is visited by a few customers around 12:00 on weekdays, but there is a steady flow of customers. Many people order bento boxes, but today I tried the steak lunch for the first time. There were also a lot of people ordering hamburg steak. The steak was small but cooked rare on a hot plate, giving it an authentic taste. At 1320 yen, it was reasonably priced. The atmosphere was nice, with a stage made of hot plates adding to the experience. I hope this restaurant continues to thrive.

I'm back for a repeat visit. My partner really wanted to come back here because the food is just so delicious. Let's go inside "Grill Koyanagi"! As we approach the restaurant, the amazing smell hits us once again. The historic building and interior of the restaurant are truly wonderful. We already know what one of our orders will be, but we quickly decide on the second dish. Time to place our order. As we wait, we can hear the sizzling sounds coming from the kitchen. It's finally here - our first dish, the "Yakiniku Lunch"! Look at all that meat and cabbage. Let's dig in. Wow, this meat is delicious. The aroma coming from the meat is amazing, like it's been smoked or grilled over charcoal. And the yakiniku sauce is perfect. It goes so well with the rice. And that plum-flavored soup is also delicious. Now, the fantastic value "B Lunch" has arrived! What a spread. I can't help but smile. The pork sauté is the best I've ever had. This B Lunch is just incredible. Everything is so tasty. The atmosphere is great. And the B Lunch is just too good. Next time we come, we're definitely getting the B Lunch again. When you come to Kokura, I'll definitely treat you to this place, Ciel. Thank you for a satisfying meal!

Today's lunch was at "Grill Koyanagi". I had been curious about this place when I passed by the narrow road before, and today, my partner wanted to go, so we visited. We parked at a nearby coin parking. The atmosphere of the restaurant gives a sense of history! As you get closer to the restaurant, a wonderful smell wafts through the air. The lunch menu is extensive, but my partner and I both chose perfectly. We ordered the Steak Lunch and Hamburger Steak Lunch. The service was pleasant, with the waitress, who seemed like the landlady, confirming our order. Once the order was placed, you could hear the sound of the patty being prepared in the kitchen. The sizzling sound was appetizing. The Steak Lunch was amazing! The meat was incredibly tender but not overly soft. It was delicious. And the steak sauce was so tasty! The rice went so well with it. The soup with plum aroma, wakame, and enoki was also delicious. The salad with vegetables was tasty too, with the dressing complementing the veggies perfectly. The large cucumber was crisp and delicious. The Hamburger Steak Lunch was a standout! It was juicy and flavorful, with a perfect balance of textures. The demiglace sauce was delicious and complemented the hamburger well. The vegetables served with it were also tasty, especially the eggplant. The spaghetti was also delicious, as expected. The father trained at a famous place (I forgot the name), and the son trained at The Ritz-Carlton. They have been featured on TV many times, with even the comedian Ishii from Honjamaka praising their hamburger. The mother happily shared this information while serving us. The taste, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. I want to try other dishes here. It was a truly delicious and wonderful dining experience. We finished everything (I wanted more rice). We will definitely come back. Thank you for the delicious meal! 🍴

I finally decided to visit a long-established Western-style restaurant that had been on my mind, just before lunchtime on a weekday! Since it was still before noon, there were no other customers. The restaurant has an open kitchen, so sitting at the counter allows you to watch the cooking process, which is quite enjoyable. There are a few small table seats along the wall, but if you're dining alone, the counter seems like a good choice. I looked through the lunch menu and decided to order the hamburger steak lunch because I was curious about the demi-glace sauce typically served at Western-style restaurants. Based on the reviews, the B lunch set seemed like a good deal, but I stuck with my choice. The sizzling hot hamburger steak on the iron plate at the Western-style restaurant looked incredibly delicious, and I was sure that it would live up to expectations. About 5 minutes after ordering, the appetizing smell of the Western-style restaurant started to waft through the air. It's hard to describe the smell, but I can only say it's the smell of a Western-style restaurant, unfortunately. After a short wait, the rice, salad, and hamburger steak arrived in that order. I didn't check the set contents when I ordered, but it seemed that rice and salad were included. I have a strange challenge of trying to take photos that stimulate the appetites of those who read reviews, but I was so hungry that I started eating without checking the photos I took. Therefore, the photo of the salad was too disappointing... The hamburger steak was juicy, but not the meaty type. The demi-glace sauce, as the name suggests, had a strong tomato flavor but was a bit light in taste. It lacked richness and depth. I think this type of demi-glace sauce is common in Kitakyushu, so there may not be many places with a richer sauce. If there are any, I'd love to know, so please tell me if you know any (seriously). My companion, who is from Fukuoka, seemed to like this type of demi-glace sauce. I guess it's a matter of personal preference. The side dishes included one piece each of eggplant, potato, carrot, and two pieces of green beans, along with some pasta. The salad dressing was homemade and seemed to be based on apple and carrot, with a mild sweetness and not too much acidity. My companion's B lunch had a generous portion size with a variety of side dishes to enjoy, so if you want to try a variety of dishes, the B lunch is a good choice (*′ω′)b

When passing by the restaurant, I heard someone coming out saying, "That really filled me up," which piqued my interest and led me to visit. Unfortunately, they had already finished serving their lunch menu, but I decided to try the Tan Steak that caught my eye. It was served on a hot iron plate with a side of vegetables and demi-glace sauce sizzling nicely. The portion of the main Tan steak was substantial, and I was surprised that it was priced at just under 1500 yen. It was different from what I had imagined, but it had a nice atmosphere and was quite enjoyable.

Hamburger Grill Koyanagi Street's Western-style restaurant was recommended to me by a senior colleague for lunch. I was brought here and recommended the hamburger lunch set, which comes with my favorite sunny-side-up egg. Mixing the spaghetti with the hamburger is insanely delicious, am I the only one who thinks so? The demi-glace sauce here has a strong tomato acidity. The onions in the demi are thickly sliced, and when cut, the meat juice mixes with the demi sauce. The size of the hamburger is satisfying, especially when paired with rice. Leaving a little yolk, I enjoyed the last bite of hamburger sauce with rice, and it was amazing. #HamburgerLunch #KitakyushuGourmet #HamburgerWithSunnySideUp #SpaghettiOnTheHotPlate #MysteriouslyDelicious #MixingWithSauce #MeatJuiceAndSauceGoWellTogether

I went to the popular old-fashioned Western food restaurant "Grill Koyanagi" in Kitakyushu City, Kokura. It opens at 11:00, so I arrived a little early. I was greeted by a cheerful chef and led inside. The hamburgers, steaks, and grilled meat set all looked tempting. In the end, I decided to leave it to the chef and ordered the "B lunch" which includes mini hamburger, kushikatsu, roast beef, fried oysters, salad, soup, and rice for 1320 yen (tax included). Every dish was delicious and I felt like I needed more rice... Next time, I think I'll ask for a large serving of rice. Thank you for the delicious meal! Grill Koyanagi is located at 4-18 Konyamachi, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City.

I visited "Grill Koyanagi" for lunchtime during my business trip to Ogura. I ordered the B lunch without hesitation. There are various menu options, but I feel like the B lunch is the most cost-effective. I haven't tried other menu items, but when I first came to this restaurant, everything from the entrance exuding the atmosphere of a delicious restaurant, the aroma inside, the appearance of the head chef in the kitchen, the friendliness of the hostess, and the menu itself, all indicated that it is a delicious place. And it truly was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

The smell of Showa era is strong here, this is the special hamburger set for 1180 yen. The small portion of rice is dry and the set comes with a salad. I went around 12 o'clock and about 70% of the seats were taken. The hamburger is soft and comes with sweet eggplant, carrot, potato, and other side dishes. The interior of the restaurant is not well ventilated, so the smell sticks to your clothes and hair.
