Fish Man @ Fukuoka City ~ I would like to visit "Fish Man" for product research to develop fun and delicious menu items. As I enter, a young male staff member greets me with "Are you Mr. Okubo?" It seems like they know Mr. Mori well. The maternal figure of "Fish Man," Ms. Yukimaru, is inside. Let's start with the menu... The appetizer is "Grilled Sesame Tofu," reminiscent of a high-end Japanese restaurant. It seems like Mr. Mori has produced a bone broth restaurant in Marunouchi. We start with a toast in a new style. First up is the "Sashimi Stairs" (specially prepared for one person). It includes smoked tuna with soy sauce and seaweed sauce, amberjack, red snapper, sesame mackerel, striped jack slightly sticky, horse mackerel, and scallops. The smoked tuna with soy sauce and seaweed sauce is a great combination. It would go well with sushi from a fish market. The amberjack is delicious and the striped jack has a slightly sticky texture. The persimmon and Shine Muscat white sesame dressing by ceramic artist Yuko Ikeda is served on an original plate. The deep-fried spring roll with saury and chestnuts is a tasty dish with the sweetness of chestnuts and the flavor of saury. The steamed crab rice is mixed with crab meat sauce, almost like a crab cream croquette. The "Wish Comes True" fish man's tsukune, including cartilage, has a firm texture that I personally like. The fig and cream cheese dish is quite delicious, as expected from Mr. Mori. The chicken skin stew with green onions and "Tampopo" spicy oil, along with grilled eel onigiri, shows how the cuisine has evolved. Impressive. I usually only go for lunch, but I visited at night after a long time. I ordered the classic bagna càuda, cake-shaped nikujaga, crab cream croquette, and grilled eel onigiri. The food was reliably delicious and the service was pleasant, allowing me to relax and enjoy my meal. Highly recommended for a leisurely dinner on a autumn night.

I went to the restaurant for the Poseidon lunch. I arrived at 10 o'clock, too early - the first one to arrive - to avoid the summer sun and sit at the front of the line. Eventually, other waiting customers started to arrive around 20 minutes before. I wasted time. When I was seated at the counter, the Poseidon arrived in just 2-3 minutes. Wow, it was even more impressive in person than in the photos! A bowl filled with vinegared rice topped with slices of salmon, albacore tuna, sea bass, squid, and salmon roe, all covered with a crab that was supported by two thick rolled omelets behind it! Amazing. Now, the problem starts here. The vinegared rice was too soft - I prefer it firmer. And if it's a bowl and not chirashi sushi, white rice would be better. I managed to finish the flat-packed vinegared rice, but I think most people would leave some. The sazae (turban shell) was only in small pieces - 3 small pieces, to be exact. The sashimi was a bit too thin. The crab was overcooked and lacked flavor. The orders kept coming quickly. There are other set meals available, and it seems like you don't have to wait for an hour for them. So, if there's a next time, I would try a different set meal.

Ordered the Fisherman's Bowl! It was during lunchtime but I was seated immediately with no wait! The miso soup and side pickles were all delicious. They also have counter seats so it's easy to dine alone! Unfortunately, the Poseidon Bowl was sold out so I had to pass on it... I will come back for it next time!

This place seems like somewhere locals would go for dates or girls' nights out, not really catering to tourists, which is nice. They offer dishes made with local sake and Kyushu ingredients. The ham cutlet from Unzen, bone-in chicken, and onigiri were all delicious. The Japanese sake was reasonably priced, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy Kyushu ingredients! It gives off a vibe that you might find in Ebisu or Nakameguro in Tokyo, haha.

I arrived about 10 minutes before the lunch opening time and there were around 10 people already in line. I wonder what it is. The food is delicious, of course, but they are also good at selling and the staff is amazing! I would definitely want to revisit when I go to Fukuoka! Next time, I want to go at night.

It goes without saying that this is a famous restaurant. I visited for the first time, and I understand why it's so popular. The staircase sashimi platter that went viral was indeed impressive, not just visually but also incredibly delicious! The grilled horse mackerel was tender and flavorful, with a large portion. Everything was delicious, and the staff were friendly and entertaining. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. I'll definitely be back!

I visited this place for a 5000 yen all-you-can-drink course. The sesame tofu sashimi, assorted small dishes, barbecued garlic and anchovy dip, thick fried tofu cake, croquette made to look like a cake, grilled sea bream with salt, and clay pot rice were all included in the course. However, the drink service was slow and the course felt lacking, so I ordered additional Unzen ham and charcoal-grilled beef tongue. The Unzen ham was delicious, but the beef tongue was terrible. It wasn't even charcoal-grilled and lacked that charred flavor. I remember Fishman, where I visited before, was much better. It's just disappointing. I can't help but feel they focus too much on Instagrammable dishes and forget something important.

I went for drinks. The staff were lively and the atmosphere was lively. The sashimi was delicious, of course. They also explained how to eat the sashimi. The tamagoyaki (egg omelette) was made in front of us and looked very delicious.

The food in Hakata is so delicious, even though it may not be directly related to Hakata. The fish is delicious. Everything is so visually appealing. The clay pot rice is also delicious, and the meat and potato stew made to look like a cake is unique. The omelette is cooked right in front of you. The variety of food is overwhelming and it was very crowded. I highly recommend it to my friends!

Customer service is excellent!! I have been here for both lunch and dinner, but this time I came for the famous Poseidon dish! I arrived at 10:30 am on a weekday and was the first in line! By 10:45, more and more people had gathered. The Poseidon dish itself is very voluminous and delicious, with a variety of fresh fish on top of chirashi sushi. I wish the rice inside was white rice, but considering the price, it's understandable. The portion size is really, really, really large, to the point where even men might struggle to finish it. It's worth trying at least once!

Visited on Saturday afternoon with no line! Today, I ordered the "Kaiotoko Poseidon Bowl," which I had been curious about, as they only had 10 servings available. It was served in about 5 minutes, and the seafood bowl looked incredibly impressive! And all of this for only 1,280 yen, which is unbelievably cheap! The price is a steal! The toppings included bonito tataki, amberjack, sea bream, horned turban, salmon roe, squid, shrimp, salmon, and crab! And the rice was a surprise too - instead of sushi rice or white rice, it was topped with a generous amount of chirashi sushi! And to top it off, there was even more surprise - underneath the crab shell, there were three rolls of egg sushi! The amount of chirashi sushi alone was confirmed to be between 600g to 700g! The service was exceptional! The total weight was 1 kilogram, a true large serving! The toppings were fresh and delicious, including the chirashi sushi. I was completely absorbed in eating, but it became tough halfway through due to the large portion, but I managed to finish it all! Only about 2 out of 10 people finish the meal in one day, so I was surprised, but my policy is to eat everything served, so I was determined to finish it cleanly! It was incredibly delicious and satisfying! The cost performance is excellent, especially for those with a large appetite, making it the ultimate menu! Thank you for the meal! This is definitely a must-visit top-notch restaurant!

"Fukuoka City, Chuo-ku's 'Hakata Robata Fishman'. This popular restaurant known for its delicious seafood dishes had a line of 7 people in front at 10:30 in the morning. I took a photo of the menu at the entrance and realized the reason for the line - a limited edition 'Poseidon Bowl' for 1280 yen. It included salmon, sea bream, yellowtail, bonito, squid, salmon roe, turban shell, red shrimp, and snow crab. The presentation reminded me of 'Kairantei' in Minami-ku, Fukuoka City, with a lively arrangement. The vinegared rice with chopped carrots and lotus root mixed in was like chirashi sushi, enjoyable. However, the portion was quite large and towards the end, it felt a bit overwhelming. The seafood arrangement was a bit messy, but fun. The small snow crab seemed like it was frozen and thawed, losing some flavor. Removing the crab shell revealed a rolled sushi with only sweet omelette inside. I enjoyed this childhood memory of eating omelette sushi. The soy sauce had a smoky aroma, possibly homemade, but a bit too strong. The homemade egg tofu had a firm texture. I added a modern pudding for dessert, which was like a baked custard with a strong espresso-like caramel. Overall, a fun lunch experience with good value for money."

I was planning to come here if there wasn't a line. Today, I was heading to the area near Yakuin Station and when I passed by, surprisingly there was no line. I changed my plans and immediately went in. There were a few empty seats at the counter, so I was seated right away. I ordered the daily special "Fresh Fish Marinated Bowl" for 880 yen, as the famous Poseidon Bowl was not available. I couldn't take photos inside the restaurant today, but it was almost full of female customers. Even my neighbors on both sides were two women each. The only men were the chef and myself (laughs). The bowl that came out was beautifully arranged and looked very appealing. This might be the secret to its popularity among women. About half of the bowl was covered by the rolled omelet on top, so I thought, "Oh, I guess this is what you get for this price," and started eating. To my surprise, under the rolled omelet, there was a layer packed with marinated fish. The amount of rice was not that much, and the marinated fish had a thicker layer, which was surprising. It's a generous serving. The marinated fish included not only white fish but also tuna, salmon, mackerel, and bonito sashimi-like slices, giving a sense of value. The miso soup that came with it had a firm and delicious fried tofu like southern-fried tofu. It was nice to have pickles and egg tofu in small dishes as well. By the time I finished eating, warm tea was automatically served to all customers, showing that the service was attentive. I wondered how they keep track of what each customer had eaten without a bill, but then I found out that they do table checks for payment. It's impressive how efficient they are, considering how busy they are every day.

A food enthusiast from Fukushima traveled all the way to Fukuoka to eat the seafood bowl he wanted, the Explosive Seafood Bowl! The showdown between the food enthusiast and the seafood enthusiast has begun. The Poseidon Bowl, with its impressive appearance and impact, is truly remarkable. Hidden behind the crab's head is a rolled omelet with a gentle sweetness and a fluffy texture, delicious! The variety of seafood (including daily specials) such as bonito tataki, kanpachi, sea bream, turban shell, salmon, squid, salmon roe, shrimp, and crab, are all fresh and delicious. Especially the kanpachi, sea bream, turban shell, and bonito tataki were delightful. Despite having tried various seafood dishes, the quality and satisfaction of the generous portions at such an unbelievably affordable price were outstanding. Moreover, the luxurious way of picking out crab meat and combining it with other seafood for a delicious meal was amazing! The rice, which I thought was vinegared rice, went beyond my imagination. Second time visiting~ As expected from a renowned restaurant, it was quite crowded. However, the service was fast and satisfying. The prices were a bit on the higher side overall, but the taste was good. The service was also good. I personally think the crab miso spring rolls were a bit too expensive lol, not highly recommended. I would still go again.

It's recommended to order the grilled dishes in advance as they take about 30 minutes to cook. The red snapper was tender and tasty! The flavors of the shaved ice served during the season vary. I went to lunch with my eldest son at Fishman❣️ We arrived 10 minutes before the 11am opening and there was not much of a line, so we were able to order Poseidon!! The dish had sashimi, sea bream, amberjack, salmon, scallops, squid, and ikura on top, with egg-wrapped sushi on the crab underneath. The rice was vinegared, with the top half made into chirashi sushi with carrots and lotus root, making it delicious and not boring to eat❣️ My son and I shared it and finished it completely✨✨ My son ordered the Fishman Donburi. The fish was almost the same, and you could choose between sesame dressing and soy sauce. The dessert, a firm pudding, was delicious and we enjoyed it. The old famous restaurant has become digitalized for ordering, the food is served quickly, the performance is good, and the service from relatively older female staff is nice. Personally, the food was not just delicious, but also interesting. It truly has the feel of a famous restaurant, haha. However, the service was a bit concerning. Since the last order is at 10:00, the young staff seemed visibly irritated with us arriving at 9:30. But later on, when younger female customers arrived, the young male staff was all smiles and even suggested that the sashimi platter, usually for two people, could be enjoyed by one person because it looked cute. Why didn't they tell us that? Our staff was nice too, but for better service, I would rate it 4.5 out of 5.

You can feel very happy with the generous and satisfying Salmon and Ikura Donburi! ❤️ I chose the soy sauce and sesame sauce, and it was delicious! The flavors were a bit smoky and had a dashi-like taste, which I enjoyed! The side dishes were like a staircase, offering a variety of flavors which made me happy! I was looking forward to the pudding, but unfortunately, they had sold out by the time I arrived. When I went on a Sunday at 1 pm, there was a line but I only had to wait about 15 minutes to get in, so it was stress-free! Other customers had cute dogs with them, and everyone was welcoming and lovely!

Fukuoka Imazumi gourmet! For the first time in about 5-6 years, I went to Fishman~ There was a long line at the 11 am opening. It was a luxurious lunchtime drinking, and a sip of beer was blissful (*^^*). You could choose between smoked soy sauce and sesame sauce for the Fishman bowl. The pickled bowl is different every day, so if you're lucky, you can try it. The pudding and tiramisu also seem to be popular, but I'm not a fan of sweets, so I just had a bite and was satisfied.
