It's my first time visiting this tempura restaurant for lunch on a relatively cool day with not so great weather. I decided to go for the tempura bowl, and specifically chose the shrimp tempura bowl. The restaurant is spacious with about 10 tables, and there were only 2 groups of customers when I arrived. The shrimp tempura bowl was reasonably priced and came with 3 shrimp, eggplant, green pepper, and pumpkin. The tempura had a crispy coating, but I found the sauce to be a bit too mild in terms of sweetness and spiciness. Also, I thought the portion of rice was a bit too much. On the other hand, the clam miso soup was delicious. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

First Visit 202304 (No.4458)
1. Purpose of Visit
- On that day, I was gathering material in the Mita area, so I decided to try this restaurant as well.
2. Restaurant Information
- Genre on Tabelog: Tempura, Tempura Bowl, Seafood
- A tempura restaurant with a history of over 80 years since its establishment
- Business hours: 11:30-14:00, 17:00-22:00
- Closed on Sundays and holidays
- Seating capacity: 20 seats
3. Crowdedness and Atmosphere on the Day of Visit
- Visited around 12:10 on a weekday, with the restaurant at about 60-70% capacity
- The atmosphere was well-worn, although it's unclear if the restaurant has always been in this location
4. Customer Service
- The service was as per the manual
5. Ordered Items
- Special Tempura Bowl for 700 yen
- The order was served in about 15 minutes, and it consisted of 2 shrimp, pumpkin, eggplant, leeks, and other ingredients. The tempura had a slightly thick coating and was a decent meal for the price. The miso soup also had a good amount of clams in it. Overall, it was a satisfying tempura bowl for the price. Thank you for the meal.

I just realized that Saturdays are cheaper than weekdays, so I decided to splurge and order the Deluxe Ten-don. It came with pumpkin, green peppers, eggplant, two shrimp, rolled squid with seaweed, eel, and smelt. The squid wrapped in seaweed had a nice flavor. The rice portion seemed small at first, but as I ate, I found it surprisingly filling. I wish the side pickles and miso soup had a bit more volume.

The restaurant has a fairly spacious interior with seating for about 30 people. The tempura is delicious with a crispy and flavorful taste, but the amount of tempura in the special tendon is a bit disappointing. I think I should have just ordered the tendon, but it is priced at 1350 yen which is a bit expensive for lunch, so the cost performance is average.

Today's lunch decision was made to have "tendon" due to the spring-like weather, so I visited the long-unvisited tempura restaurant "Tempura Yoshida" in Mita. As always, I was greeted by the friendly female staff and seated. The restaurant was almost full. I ordered the "special upper tendon" for 1350 yen, which was as expected, a 50 yen increase. The tendon consisted of freshly fried tempura ingredients soaked in homemade sauce. The seafood included 2 shrimp, the classic white fish tempura, and squid wrapped in seaweed, as well as conger eel. The vegetables included green pepper, pumpkin, and shishito pepper. The tendon had a generous amount of tempura ingredients and was very filling. However, the sauce flavor was quite subdued compared to my previous visit. Additionally, the rice seemed a bit off with a strange texture and taste, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the tendon, as I found myself focusing more on the rice than the delicious tempura.

- Weekday lunch.
- There were no customers before 12 o'clock, perhaps because it was still early.
- A few customers came in later, and it seemed like seating was done from the back (with guidance).
- The "Jumbo Tempura Bowl" had generous portions of both toppings and rice.
- It was served piping hot, so beware if you have a sensitive tongue.
- The restaurant had a clean atmosphere.
- The "Special Tempura Bowl" was the cheapest on the menu at 700 yen.
- It is a reasonable option for lunch in the Mita area.

Due to the impact of rising costs and the weakening yen, this area's must-visit restaurant for tempura bowl lunches has increased its prices. However, the cost is still at a very affordable level. This time, I ordered the "Shrimp Tempura Bowl"! The tempura was hot and crispy, soaked in plenty of tempura sauce, making it delicious. They also provided extra tempura sauce, which was much appreciated. The dish had just the right amount of 3 shrimp and 2 types of vegetables. It was a great experience to enjoy a tempura bowl after a long time!

Great value authentic tempura restaurant. Visited on a rainy weekday around 1:10 pm. The restaurant was relatively empty. I ordered the tempura rice bowl for ¥700, which used to be ¥680. It came with 2 prawns, 4 types of vegetables, and tasted good for the price. Will definitely visit again.

I stopped by after work. It was 6:00 pm on a weekday with no other customers. The interior had table seating and was calm. I ordered the mixed tempura bowl from the menu. It had 2 prawns, squid, and vegetables, just the right amount of volume. The taste was quite delicious, and considering the cost performance at night, it was good. The service was also good, and I thought it would be nice for regular use.

It's been a while since I went to a tempura restaurant! Today I was in the mood for Japanese food for lunch. The restaurant I was aiming for had already finished their lunch service, which was disappointing. However, I found a tempura restaurant with great value for money! I decided to have a tempura rice bowl for the first time in a while. The restaurant was not crowded as it was before the lunch hours ended. I ordered the "Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl" which came with 3 shrimp, eggplant, green pepper, and one more item that I forgot. The tempura rice bowl with plenty of dipping sauce on the rice was incredibly delicious!! And all of this for only 830 yen... The value for money is amazing.

On Saturday afternoon, I wandered around Tamachi. I visited "Tempura Yoshi" and entered the retro-style restaurant. I checked the menu and decided to order the special "Tempura Don" for 1150 yen, which is usually 1300 yen on Saturdays. The dish arrived, and I dug in. The taste was excellent. I hope to come back next time and try it at the evening price.

The lunch menu is surprisingly affordable, and when I ordered the shrimp tempura rice bowl, I was amazed by how generous the portion was. It came with three large shrimp tempura, along with green peppers, eggplant, and pumpkin tempura. It also came with pickles and miso soup, all for only 830 yen. The tempura sauce was not too strong, which was nice. The vegetables and shrimp had a sweet flavor. The pickles were also very mild in flavor, almost no salt. The miso soup was delicious, made with clam broth. Everyone at the restaurant was kind and calm, making it a very relaxing atmosphere. The soba noodles with tempura also looked delicious.

Located about an 8-minute walk from Sannomiya Station, this tempura specialty shop is visited for lunch on weekdays. The Food Log rating at the time of the visit was 3.41 (May 2022). The shop is inside a building, with an interior design featuring light-colored wood typical of a Japanese restaurant. It seems to be a small independent shop, and the most affordable lunch option, the "Otokui Tendon," is priced at 680 yen, which is quite reasonable. I opted for the slightly more expensive Mixed Tendon (950 yen).

[Mixed Tendon (950 yen)]
The dish was served about 8 minutes after ordering. Let's dig in. The tempura included 2 prawns, white fish wrapped in perilla leaf, squid wrapped in seaweed, pumpkin, green pepper, and eggplant. In the mixed version, it seems that additional seafood other than prawns is included, and it's nice to see that they have put some extra effort into the preparation rather than just frying them. The sauce was generous, and the batter was accordingly moist. The sauce had a slight sweetness, but it was elegant. The rice portion was probably less than 250g, which was just the right amount in terms of balance. The miso soup was clam soup, with a comforting and gentle flavor.

This is a tempura specialty shop located along Seisaka Street in Mita. The menu is limited, but all items are very reasonably priced, making it popular among office workers and students in the Mita area. The tempura bowl menu ranges from 680 yen to 1300 yen, which is surprisingly affordable for a specialty shop. On this day, I had the "Mixed Tempura Bowl (950 yen)". It included 2 shrimp, squid, white fish, eggplant, green beans, and pumpkin, totaling 7 items. It also came with miso soup and pickles, making it a great value for the price. The tempura pieces were small in size, but freshly fried and delicious when dipped in the sauce. The rice was generously covered in sauce, which I appreciated. The sauce was not too sweet, which I personally prefer. The squid had seaweed wrapped around it, and the white fish had shiso leaves, adding a refreshing touch. The interior of the shop had a restaurant-like atmosphere, spacious and clean. They also offer a set menu in the evening where you can enjoy tempura and beer for just over a thousand yen, which I might try for a solo drink next time.

An amazingly good tempura restaurant!! Today, I wanted to eat a quick and delicious lunch without much time, so I thought of "tempura rice bowl" and headed to this place. I didn't want to feel guilty for taking too long, so I ordered the "shrimp tempura rice bowl". It came with shrimp and various vegetable tempura like eggplant, pumpkin, and green pepper. It was a great deal with 3 shrimp on top. The taste was consistently delicious, and it was a lunch with the best quality and cost performance. This restaurant is definitely a safe choice!

The unbeatable value tendon!! Still riding high from my last amazing experience, I couldn't resist coming back for more. This time, I wanted to try the rumored "Value Tendon" and so here I am again. I ordered the 680 yen Value Tendon this time!! Hmm... I feel almost guilty for paying so little... but I had to try it at least once. After a short wait, the tendon arrived! It consisted of eggplant, sweet potato, pumpkin, 2 shrimp, and shishito peppers. Just the line-up alone was impressive!! The taste was just as delicious as the regular tendon... top-notch quality!! To think that such an amazing tendon can be enjoyed at such a high cost-performance ratio. I will definitely be coming back for more!

Affordable and delicious tempura rice bowl!! I finally visited a tempura restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. I had heard that they offer a great deal on tempura rice bowls for lunch, so I was eager to try it out. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a building, next to the famous knife-cut noodle shop. The interior is spacious and there is a relaxed atmosphere even during lunchtime. There are 7 lunch menu options, all of which are tempura rice bowls. Among them, the regular tempura rice bowl is priced at 650 yen, but because this restaurant is known for its quality, I decided to go for the "Special Deluxe Tempura Rice Bowl" priced at 1,300 yen. The Special Deluxe Tempura Rice Bowl was topped with luxurious ingredients such as eggplant, green pepper, 2 prawns, squid tempura, conger eel, pumpkin, whiting fish, and it was absolutely delicious! The tempura sauce was just right and the rice with the sauce was the best! The tempura was not greasy, and the sauce was light and refreshing, making it easy to eat. I felt so happy enjoying this luxurious tempura rice bowl. I would love to try the regular tempura rice bowl next time!

Today's dinner is at a tempura restaurant in Mita. It's a traditional tempura restaurant, but you can enjoy a great deal with the tempura rice bowl set. Wet your throat with a draft beer and simmered vegetables, and in just 5 minutes, your tempura rice bowl (with 4 types of vegetables and 2 shrimp) is ready. The tempura sauce is exquisite and the miso soup is delicious. The 1280 yen (tax included) evening drink set is recommended. It was not crowded, but eating a tempura rice bowl at a restaurant is always delicious. Since I am dining alone and not speaking loudly, I want to support restaurants and if you are dining alone, the evening drink set is definitely recommended.

On weekends, I walk to get rid of my lack of exercise, but if I don't have a specific goal, I tend to give up halfway. I had avoided Jiro-style ramen since a bad experience at a fake inspired store, but I was strongly recommended to try the real thing. In my mind, I debated whether to go for garlic and extra fat or just the default. The dilemma made me walk faster, from Roppongi through Azabu-Juban, up the steep Kiyomi-zaka, and down past the Mitsui Club, finally reaching Jiro, only to find a long line of about 30 people waiting in a V-shaped formation. Not good for a guy who dislikes waiting! So, I washed away the thoughts of garlic and fat in my head and decided to try another place in the Naka-machi shopping street area. I stumbled upon a place on Seizaka Street with a Saturday special price that caught my eye. I entered the spacious restaurant, where there were only three other groups of customers. I ordered the special "tokutoku tendon" for 610 yen (Saturday price) and was served tea and pickles. The tempura was crispy and not greasy, with small prawns, eggplant, sweet potato, and shiitake mushrooms. The slightly thick tempura sauce complemented the rice well, and the spinach miso soup was flavorful. I regained the calories I burned during my walk and left feeling satisfied. It's really a great deal to get a properly made tempura bowl at this price. The upper tempura bowl or the conger eel tempura bowl are also reasonably priced. Is it really good for my health to walk to Jiro or tempura bowls for the sake of health?

At this restaurant, you can enjoy a delicious Tendon (tempura rice bowl) for 680 yen, making it very cost-effective. The Tendon comes with 2 shrimp, 4 types of vegetables, and a miso soup with clams. I couldn't decide, so I ended up ordering the mixed Tendon, which included 2 shrimp, 3 types of vegetables, and 2 squid rolls with shiso leaves. The rice is generously topped with sauce, which has a rich and slightly sweet flavor, without being too salty. The tempura here is soft and slightly chewy, making it a good choice for a Tendon with a flavorful sauce.
