I used this restaurant for entertaining on a regular day. I chose the 10,000 yen course. Various dishes such as sashimi and grilled dishes were served, but what left an impression on me was the chawanmushi and sushi. (There is a possibility that I drank too much and don't remember well, haha) The staff's impression was good. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious for a while and finally visited this sushi restaurant. The sea urchin was in season, so maybe that's why it was so good? They offered a variety of options from Hokkaido, Aomori, and other places, and I ended up eating too much. They were happy to make thin rolls even if it wasn't on the menu. The thick rolls were amazing. I noticed they made the order three times the normal size! It would make a great souvenir. The regular size is apparently medium rolls. The red baby sea bream was delicious. They are good at serving the last dish, or rather, I remember it being particularly tasty. Here are the items I remember as especially delicious: Red baby sea bream, grilled conger eel, fatty tuna, conger eel, salmon, shrimp, kelp rolls, medium fatty tuna rolls, plum rolls, sea urchin, salmon roe, scallop butter, chawanmushi, fish miso soup. I drank a lot of alcohol and it cost around 10,000 yen per person.

I was very satisfied with the 5500 yen course at Sushigen in Takadanobaba. It includes appetizers, specialty dishes, simmered dishes, and rolls, making it a great deal. The average customer spending is around 7000 yen. #Sushigen #TakadanobabaGourmet #Sushi #SushiLovers #WantToConnectWithSushiLovers Satchan

Sushi Gen at the Teikoku Hotel is surprisingly affordable and has a relaxed atmosphere, considering it's located right in the middle of Ginza. I visited the Takadanobaba branch for the first time, and despite being a new customer, I was seated at a quiet counter which made me feel relaxed. The lunch set for ¥1,980 was served neatly on plates, with miso soup containing five shrimp heads. The sushi was made with gentle vinegar rice and included fresh raw whitebait, which I enjoyed. The rolled sushi was made with dried gourd strips, and the marinated octopus was delicious. Overall, I was satisfied with the set that showed the thoughtful touch of a long-established restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived within a 5-minute walk from the station. I sat at a table for lunch and enjoyed fresh and delicious sushi. The miso soup with sea bream was also delicious! I want to come back in the evening next time and enjoy sashimi and other dishes from their extensive menu.

In Takadanobaba, after training, M-senpai treated us to a high-class Chinese restaurant. We were seated in a private room and ordered a course meal. The drinks were not all-you-can-drink like at izakayas, so we paid separately for the course. The dishes kept coming and we ate and drank to our heart's content. We were all satisfied and happy. We promised M-senpai that we would continue following him. Looking forward to the next outing!

I visited this sushi restaurant for the third time, and it was amazing. My companion loves shellfish and was enjoying it a lot. I particularly enjoyed the fresh turban shell, which was so delicious. The seasonal turban shell was freshly grated and curled up beautifully. It was so tasty! We also had a white fish roll, which was light and refreshing with sudachi and salt. The finely shredded cucumber added a nice crunch. We also tried seared kawahagi with liver and green onions, which was full of flavor and perfect as a snack. My companion enjoyed eating squid and octopus with their tentacles, and they particularly loved the flavor of these dishes.

I was able to attend the year-end party with our annual business partner at this restaurant again this year. Everything was delicious, but what left a strong impression was the sweet and tasty sea urchin. The salt-grilled conger eel was fluffy! The belly part of the amberjack was delicious. The fatty tuna nigiri was also very tasty.

I have been visiting the Takadanobaba store from the Teikoku Hotel store about once a month for almost 10 years now, and the food is always delicious without fail. My recent favorite is the kaiware na (radish sprouts) with kelp. I want to try eating a whole portion of this alone! LOL

Even in heavy rain, it's great that there is a sushi restaurant near the station. The private rooms are quite nice. The delicious food goes well with Japanese sake, and it's nice that you can choose your sashimi freely. I always order bonito, amberjack, octopus, grilled conger eel, and steamed dish. Another dish I recommend is the clam dish, it's also delicious! For nigiri sushi, I recommend ark shell, sea urchin, and rolled omelette. As for sake, I like Tateyama and Hidakami with Bonito Masamune. The only downside is the cost performance, but it's not a big deal. The bill is clear and easy to understand.

Located just a short walk from Takadanobaba Station, near Mejiro Street, is a sushi restaurant with a menu featuring photos of the dishes, making it easy to order even for first-time visitors. They offer a variety of dishes made with seasonal seafood, perfect for pairing with drinks. They also have a weekday lunch menu.
After finishing work early, I decided to have a drink in Takadanobaba. Walking down the gentle slope towards Mejiro Street from the intersection in front of the station, I noticed a nice-looking sushi restaurant on the first floor of a building. Although I had been there once a long time ago, I couldn't remember much about it. As I arrived, another customer was leaving, so I took the opportunity to sit at the counter. The relaxed atmosphere of the spacious counter and the friendly chef made me feel comfortable. I ordered a local sake and some appetizers.
- Simmered octopus: The suction cups were large, indicating that it was a pretty big octopus. It was simmered in a soy-based sauce, making it tender and flavorful.
- Horse mackerel sashimi: The shiny skin of the mackerel looked beautiful. It was sliced thickly, with a good amount of fat and no unpleasant taste, so it was enjoyable even without any condiments.
- Assorted sushi (12 pieces with miso soup) for 5,500 yen: This set included 12 pieces of sushi with a miso soup. Although you could order it all at once, I decided to have one piece at a time. The rice was well-cooked with a slight vinegar tang. The grains stuck together slightly but separated easily when bitten into. The toppings included kawahagi, fatty tuna, and mackerel, with the nori on the gunkan also adding a nice flavor. The sea urchin had a slightly dark color but was rich in flavor, perfect for the summer season.
I also ordered two more servings of sake, and the total bill came to just over 10,000 yen. While ordering various dishes might add up quickly, the relaxed atmosphere and no pressure to hurry made it a pleasant experience.

I was looking for a sushi restaurant in Takadanobaba and came across this place, so I decided to give it a try! Sushigen here also has a shop in the Imperial Hotel, and the chefs are all very skilled. The atmosphere at the counter on the first floor of Sushigen's own building was nice and traditional. The service was great with friendly and polite staff. I had the 8800 yen course which included appetizers, sashimi, simmered fish, and finally 5 pieces of sushi, miso soup, and dessert. I also ordered some additional nigiri and rolls. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely be coming back here again! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I went to the restaurant with a female colleague. It was our first visit after the alcohol serving suspension period was lifted. We tried the Kinmedai (golden eye snapper) and seared Uni (sea urchin) trio for comparison. The 20-year-old colleague was trying Uni for the first time and was told that if she tried a weird Uni, she might end up disliking it. She had only been to conveyor belt sushi restaurants before, so this was her first time trying high-quality sushi. She loved it and said "Delicious!" with a satisfied expression. I was able to enjoy two servings of sake with her. We also tried Maguro (tuna), Wakasagi (young sweetfish), Anago (sea eel), Tamago (egg), Shinko (baby gizzard shad), Chutoro (medium-fatty tuna), Ko-hada (small skin), Ikura (salmon roe), and Chutoro roll. We left the selection to the chef, and he took good care of us, allowing us to have a pleasant conversation and enjoy the meal. The chef was attentive to my colleague's preferences and adjusted the dishes accordingly. In a time where omakase style is prevalent, I appreciate the personalized service and flexibility at this restaurant. I often visit this restaurant and appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the chef's skill. Thank you for a wonderful time.

A sushi restaurant a short walk from Takadanobaba Station. I visited for lunch at the end of the year. It was a fantastic experience having a meal with the head chef exclusively! The grilled shirako was fragrant and creamy, and the fried smelt tempura was delicious. We enjoyed various dishes such as konoshiro, tuna, and ark shell, all of which were fresh and flavorful, perfect with sake. I would love to visit again! If you are in the area, be sure to give it a try!

Established in 1968, Jigenace has its main store in Takadanobaba, with branch stores in the Imperial Hotel and Tachikawa Takashimaya. I once had the pleasure of trying the Imperial Hotel version of Sushi Gen at a celebration for the renowned bartender Mori-san at the Imperial Hotel. The store, located along the JR railway tracks, was renovated about 10 years ago into a splendid building. The first floor has a counter and two private rooms. Due to COVID-19 measures, the chefs wear masks and there are vinyl or plastic dividers at the counter. On this day, I opted for the standard set menu with beer. The Hana nigiri set was satisfying, with 8 pieces of nigiri, tamago, and 4 rolls. The vinegar used in the shari was mild and easy to enjoy. The set was filling due to the size of the shari. The seared head of Botan ebi served as a nice bonus. The simmered clams, fresh squid, and side dishes were all delicious. The staff's service was excellent, creating a comfortable dining experience. My original plan was to have a Wasekatsu-don, but due to the holiday, I ended up at Jigenace for sushi after wandering around Waseda. It turned out to be a hot and eventful holiday.

I used this place for the second round of a drinking party. We wanted to eat delicious sushi, but it was dry and not tasty at all! Even though it was still an hour and a half before last order, it was terrible! We went to an expensive restaurant, but the conveyor belt sushi is way better. The attitude of the staff was also bad and terrible. I will never go there again.

This is a sushi restaurant located in front of Takadanobaba Station. It is said that a certain prominent politician is a regular customer. The restaurant has a beautiful counter with a display case for the ingredients, and a lively head chef, creating a traditional Edo-style sushi experience. To start, we tried a sashimi platter with red clam, cured mackerel, and scallop. The freshness of the ingredients was evident. The red clam had a nice crunch to it. We also enjoyed dishes like hairy crab, oysters, and whelk, paired with sake. It was a bit disappointing that the selection of dry sake was limited. Next, we tried uni sushi. I personally prefer uni without seaweed, as the nori can overpower the sweetness of the uni. Lastly, we had a fatty tuna roll. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience at a sushi restaurant where you can enjoy high-quality ingredients with peace of mind. Thank you for the meal.

In Takadanobaba, the most authentic sushi restaurant. A friend mentioned that Taro Aso also frequents this place. Three of us visited without a reservation, and the counter was a bit crowded. Initially, we were seated in the second floor tatami room. When we requested the counter, the staff seemed a bit reluctant, but soon after, they guided us there. I thought they were not happy about it, but they accommodated our request. We ordered the "Hana" set for around 4000 yen. The appetizer was mushroom sushi, followed by bonito sushi which was surprisingly mild. The button shrimp and sea bream were well-prepared, true to Edo-style sushi. The medium fatty tuna and sea urchin were good, although it wasn't the saltwater sea urchin. The salmon roe and raw whitebait were quite good. The conger eel was a bit firm, while the bonito and cucumber sushi, egg sushi, and taro potato shrimp head were all enjoyable. We also added herring and softshell turtle sushi, which were both delicious. The grilled conger eel wasn't too overpowering, allowing the freshness of the raw sushi to shine. The surf clam and Pacific saury were both pleasantly mild. The grilled blackthroat seaperch was the best I've ever had, not too assertive. The squid had a subtle lemon flavor and wasn't too chewy. It felt different from common Japanese flying squid. The tuna was a beautiful ruby color, with a nice marinade. Overall, it was quite delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Point-to-point sales, abundant variety of sushi toppings, incomparable variety of toppings compared to Sushigen in the hotel where you can choose from several types of soup bowls (Imperial Hotel has rules that basically do not allow the use of shellfish) There are various patterns in sushi restaurants, but the good thing about this restaurant is that you can casually go and choose your favorite topping without worrying about time or reservations when you feel like eating sushi (without pressure), and after receiving your favorite appetizer from the topping case, you can have it lightly molded and feel satisfied. A valuable restaurant that can be used for irregular time receptions, entertaining foreign guests, etc. The first time I tried the shellfish with salt and pepper was at this restaurant (the sweetness stands out!) I have visited many times, but this is my first post and I have compiled the photos (there may be toppings that are not available together due to the season). Currently, all stores (in the Imperial Hotel, department stores, and Takadanobaba) are closed due to the corona pandemic. Among the many sushi restaurants that are operating normally, there may be circumstances where it is better to close considering the loss of toppings if you cannot operate normally (taking into account the provision of alcohol). High-end restaurants like sushi restaurants would likely find it difficult to survive on cooperation fees alone, and in the midst of not knowing when the state of emergency will end, it is ultimately up to each individual to decide so as not to regret it, and I think it is a natural judgment for restaurants that are operating normally. No one will take responsibility, after all. I am both saddened and angry that alcohol has become a scapegoat in the corona pandemic. Mr. Haraguchi, I will visit again when you return to normal business. Thank you as always!
