Lantana @460 yen
A cinnamon-flavored apple cake with a light cream that is not too rich. Topped with white chocolate petals, is this the Lantana cake?
Magic @460 yen
The mango mousse is delicious!! The fruit stands out in its deliciousness. The cream is also light, so even I, who don't like whipped cream, am happy with this cake.
Raisin Sandwich @230 yen
This one is also light in my opinion. I prefer it with a bit more of a punch from the alcohol.
I had known about this shop for a while, but when I actually went to find it, I was like huh? Did I get lost on the street? It's supposed to be bright red and stand out, but the shop is quiet. Still, it's a long-established cake shop. The prices are reasonable and the cakes are delicious.

I wandered around the area and came across a red door with a sign of being open. I usually passed by when it was closed, but luckily I visited when it was open. They had cakes and baked goods in the showcase. Since it was a hot day, I decided to go for the baked goods. I tried the Classic for $2.10, the Chestnut for $2.50, and the Raisin Sandwich for $2.30. The Classic was a rich chocolate and nut cake with a moist and dense texture. It had a bold chocolate flavor with a hint of bitterness from the liquor, but it wasn't too sweet. The Chestnut was a crumbly madeleine with a whole chestnut in the middle, releasing a rich and smooth sweetness. The Raisin Sandwich was a half-baked cookie with a light and not too sweet taste, filled with a rum cream and raisins. All the items had unique flavors and I would love to try their cakes on a cooler day. Their current operating hours are from 11 am to 4 pm.

Popular all-press espresso shop is quietly located across from a Western confectionery shop. Established in 1964, it is quite a long-established shop. Today, I bought some sweets as souvenirs, so this is just a taste review.
[Items Consumed]
- Chestnut Cake
- Fruit Cake
- Black Tea Cake
- Orange Madeleine
Total: ¥830
Not flashy, but simple and no misses. The prices are quite reasonable, making it easy to use. I had known about this place for a long time, but had never tried their sweets before. It's really quiet and I had never seen anyone enter the shop before, so I never had a reason to buy anything. But I think it's a convenient shop. Thank you for the meal!

The authentic handmade feel of the occasional, but excellent all-espresso coffee is amazing. I didn't even notice it was there in front of me. I wonder if they can only make a small quantity? It seems like a place full of hidden gems that only locals know about.

Today, the weather was nice, so I went on a sweet exploration with my company's bicycle. This place has been open for over 2 years but only has one review. The storefront and display case gave me confidence that the sweets here would be amazing. I couldn't help but notice the customers from the crowded cafe "Allpress" across the street, but oh well. I bravely entered the shop. The prices were clear, around 400 yen including tax. The square and round-shaped sweets looked simple but intricately decorated. It was hard to choose. I asked for the recommended item, which was the shortcake. My wife got the Cafe Royal. According to her, the shortcake had a high fragrance (probably from the strawberries) and the high-quality cream was fantastic. The Cafe Royal had a balance of acidity, chocolate sweetness, and the chocolate meringue connected it all. The gold flakes on top were super luxurious (laughs). Overall, we were very satisfied. This place offers high-quality sweets worth visiting if it were nearby. However, being in a competitive cafe area far from the station with no seating may make it a tough battle.

The area of Kiyosumi-Shirakawa has become known as "Coffee Town" with the establishment of various cafes and dessert shops, making it a popular tourist spot. One such dessert shop opened right in front of the coffee shop, Allpress Espresso, where a previous dessert shop, Atelier de l'oeuf, used to be located. The small shop offers around 15 different cakes in the showcase, along with baked goods on the shelves. I tried the Savarin (400 yen), which is a grown-up rum cake with a generous amount of rum syrup that made it moist and sweet. The Apple Pie (380 yen) was made with Aomori apples and had a deliciously sweet cinnamon flavor. I also tried the Tropico (400 yen), a tropical cream cake with strawberries and pineapples on top. The refreshing citrus flavor from the orange liqueur used in the cake made it a light and enjoyable treat. This dessert shop is a long-established Western confectionery with branches in Nihonbashi and Kachidoki, offering cakes made at their Kachidoki workshop. The shop took over the location from Atelier de l'oeuf after receiving information from a confectionery wholesaler. It was the third day since the opening, and the owner's friendly and attentive service left a positive impression.
