I visited the ice cream shop "Hyogashiya KOMARU" supervised by Mr. Aimi Matsuyama, who has won the "Michelin Guide Fukuoka One Star" and "The Tabelog Award Bronze". The shop is located in Yahata Nishi-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, about a 12-minute walk from JR Kurosaki Station. This shop specializes in additive-free ice cream made with Jersey milk from Kumamoto Prefecture and fresh cream from Hokkaido. I purchased the limited edition "Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc Soft" available in October and November. The appearance of the ice cream looks just like a perfect Mont Blanc. The Kumamoto chestnut on top is quite large and tastes delicious with a refined sweetness. Moving on to the soft serve part, the inside is a mix of chestnut paste and milk soft serve. The chestnut paste is rich, but the milk soft serve holds its own in terms of flavor, making it a satisfying treat. Thank you for the delicious experience.

I visited in the afternoon on a regular day with no waiting in line! Selected as one of the top 100 stores in 2023! There is a branch in the Depachika of Tenjin, and I have conquered the Kurosaki Soft and Kurosaki Chocolate Soft there, so this time I ordered a different menu! I ordered the limited-time Chestnut Mont Blanc Soft Serve! The soft serve ice cream is lightly flavored with a crisp texture using Jersey milk from Oguni, overflowing with a milky taste and consistently delicious! The Mont Blanc paste surrounding the soft serve is rich, sweet, and incredibly delicious! The chestnut is moderately sweet and has a nice flavor! The soft serve itself is good, but if you're going to eat it, you might want to try the limited-time Chestnut Mont Blanc Soft Serve! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I went to try the ice cream that is said to be additive-free. I ordered the Royal Milk Tea soft serve. However, I should have asked if the soft serve itself is additive-free. It was light and smooth, but nothing particularly special about it. The price was 500 yen.

I used to drive by this shop without noticing it, but I never expected it to be such a popular place. Even right after opening, the store was packed with customers. It's summer vacation, so there are families with children and grandchildren, as well as people buying a lot of takeout souvenirs. The eat-in space is stylish and relaxing. The chocolate soft serve has a unique texture that I've never experienced before - smooth and not too sweet. I definitely want to visit this shop again.

I visited "Hyogashiya KOMARU", a famous ice cream and gelato shop, which is a 10-minute walk from Kurosaki Station. I arrived around 12:30 on a weekday and there was no wait, so I could easily enter. I ordered the Kurosaki Chocolate Soft Serve for 500 yen. It was served promptly. There is a stylish eat-in area next to the counter with a photo corner where I enjoyed my treat. The soft serve had a rich milk flavor, with a chocolate coating on the surface that was very delicious. Nuts were sprinkled around the edge of the cone, adding a nice touch. It tasted like a high-end version of a giant cone. I enjoyed it until the last bite.

Located in Yahata Nishi-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, "KOMARU" is a popular ice cream shop supervised by owner Sosan Matsuyama, a Michelin-starred chef at the high-end Japanese restaurant "Miyoshoku Matsu Yamashin." This ice cream shop has received the prestigious title of "Hyakumeiten," or one of the top 100 shops, and is a big hit in the area. Despite already being familiar with the shop due to its proximity, I decided to visit after hearing about its recent award. On a scorching Saturday afternoon with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees, I made my way to the shop in search of some ice cream. Upon entering the shop, I found that there was a line forming, as everyone seemed to be craving some cold ice cream in the heat. I ordered the Coffee Jelly Soft Serve, which was a perfect combination of rich cream and cold coffee jelly. It had a sophisticated flavor that seemed to cater to adults.

On this day, I casually visited "Hyogashiya KOMARU" in Yachiyo, Kitakyushu City.
◇Exterior and Interior
This ice cream shop is located in Yachiyo, Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City. It is supervised by the owner of the renowned Japanese restaurant "Goryori Matsuyama" in Kitakyushu. Despite being an ice cream shop, it has a mix of traditional Japanese elements throughout, making it stand out in the city.
◇Seating
There is seating available at the back for eating in.
◇Menu
The menu consists of various ice cream options, available in cups or cones. I ordered the following:
- Kurosaki Chocolate Soft Serve (500 yen) → Tax included.
We stopped by after playing at a nearby trampoline park with friends and their families. I tempted the kids with "Wouldn't you like some ice cream?"... and it worked! The menu item labeled as the "No.1 popular choice" with the local name. It is made from authentic Kumamoto Jersey milk and cream, creating a soft serve mix from scratch without any additives. The standout feature is its smoothness, which is truly remarkable. It's not overly sweet or artificial like some commercial ice creams. It has a rich and refined sweetness that is truly enjoyable. Delicious!
◆Strengths
Enjoy the authentic ice cream without any additives!
◆Service
Average.
◆Conclusion
Even though I don't usually eat ice cream, I found it delicious. They also offer online shopping, making it a great option for summer gifts. Thank you for the meal! ^ ^

I had the popular number one "Kurosaki Choco Soft" and my companion had the "Kuromitsu Kinako Soft". The delicious vanilla ice cream from Kumamoto, rich in milk, coated with chocolate, was delicious! My companion's feedback was "Rich vanilla ice cream, kinako, anko, lots of flavors to enjoy! Delicious! The shiratama is also delicious!" (laughs)

I tried the pistachio soft serve ice cream in July and it was delicious as always. The only downside was that the top part of the cone was a bit soggy. However, the part you hold with your hand was still crispy as usual. I love the cones here, so it was a bit disappointing, but overall it was still a good treat. Thank you for the meal.

The crispy chocolate texture and smooth vanilla soft serve at this soft serve shop were delightful. Outside the shop, there were benches for dining in. The elegant soft serve is perfect as a treat. The staff at the shop were also very pleasant. They offered cup options and limited-time products. For more details, please check out the article on Yahoo News.

Located at 13-5 Yachiyo-cho, Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, KOMARU is an ice cream shop offering Ice Daifuku and Monaka for 400 yen each. Their ice creams are additive-free and safe for both children and adults to enjoy. They offer a limited edition ice cream every two months. The Monaka Daifuku ice cream has a great texture and rich flavor. It doesn't leave a heavy feeling in your head even if you eat too much. The Azuki Monaka has a perfect balance with a rich red bean flavor. The Matcha Monaka is not very sweet, highlighting the bitterness of the matcha. The Sakura Monaka is quite sour, emphasizing the unique characteristics of each ingredient. Overall, their Monaka ice creams are fantastic.

Visited at around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Limited time offer until the end of February. Purchased the following: Strawberry Mont Blanc for $650. "Rich soft serve ice cream wrapped in homemade strawberry cream," topped with a strawberry on top. Be careful as it tends to fall off easily. The soft serve ice cream has strawberry cream on the surface. The strawberry flavor is not that strong. There are freeze-dried strawberry bits stuck to it. Thank you for the meal.

KOMARU, a sweets shop located a 12-15 minute walk from Kurosaki Station, is supervised by Matsuyama, who has won one Michelin star. This specialty shop offers ice confections and has photo spots for those who want to capture their sweets. They not only focus on appearance but also on taste, offering a variety of sweets such as ice cream, soft serve, and more. I tried the Kurosaki Chocolate Soft Serve and the Black Honey Kinako this time. The Kurosaki Chocolate Soft Serve, with plenty of chocolate, was interesting with its performance of flipping the soft serve and dipping it in chocolate. The chilled and hardened chocolate had a crispy texture, and paired well with the rich and creamy soft serve. The combination of soft serve in a waffle cone and black honey kinako powder was also delicious and worth a visit. Thank you for the meal!

I had the chocolate soft serve and the limited-time strawberry soft serve at the Kurosaki store. This is my third time having the chocolate soft serve, and it's still delicious. It's vanilla soft serve with chocolate drizzled on top, and the inside vanilla soft serve has a rich milk flavor. It's just as tasty as the Ganji soft serve in Aso.

After dining at the Matsuyama restaurant, we walked to this shop. This shop is an ice cream specialty store supervised by Matsuyama Aimi-san and Aimi-san. The popular item here is soft serve ice cream. They make the soft serve ice cream mix from scratch, and while it may look similar, the taste is completely different. You can enjoy a rich flavor. The shop is mostly full for eat-in, but we managed to secure a seat. The menu includes: Black Saki Soft Cream - 400 yen, Black Saki Chocolate Soft Bank - 500 yen, Sweet chestnut Mont Blanc - 650 yen, Coffee Jelly Soft - 500 yen, Soft & Ice - 500 yen. Ice cream flavors include: Milk, Vanilla, Pistachio, Rum Raisin, Black Dragon Sake Kasu, Hojicha, Dainagon Azuki, Peanut, Ureshino Japanese Black Tea, Kinako Walnut. We purchased the Chocolate Soft serve, which was very rich and creamy, with a smooth texture and very delicious. The chocolate flavor also complemented it well. For those who cannot come all the way here, they offer local delivery and online shopping on their website or Rakuten. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Mr. Matsuyama is very skilled. The rich and delicious ice cream is made using local Jersey milk. On this day, I tried the limited edition Mont Blanc soft serve. It's so popular that people keep coming in one after another. It's a bit of a walk from Kurosaki Station. You can also order online, and the shop is also in Fukuoka's Mitsukoshi department store. The Monaka ice cream was delicious too.

Soft serve ice cream at its finest! If you're going to eat soft serve ice cream, there's no place better than here in my opinion. I actually love the classic vanilla flavor, but I decided to try something new this time and went for the coffee jelly soft serve. The combination of soft serve ice cream and coffee jelly's slight bitterness is a perfect match, making it a treat for adults. Even those who don't like overly sweet desserts can enjoy this. By the way, it cost 500 yen. (^^)

At around 2 pm on a regular day, two sets of customers visited. It was no surprise that the town was quiet at this time. The menu options were even more abundant, making it easy to grab a quick bite to eat either for takeout or to enjoy inside. I ordered a combination of soft serve and ice cream. The rich cheese ice cream lived up to its name with its unique richness. The soft serve was as good as ever, but the cheese flavor was a new favorite for me.

Located a 15-minute walk from Kurosaki Station, this ice cream shop is slightly off the bustling streets. It has a very stylish design with Instagram-worthy photo stands inside. The shop is supervised by the famous chef Matsuyama. The soft serve ice cream is delicious, especially the chocolate flavor. I recommend ordering the chocolate soft serve and filming the process of making it.

There are six parking spaces a little bit to the west of the store. I visited around 13:00 on Saturday. The popular No. 1 and No. 2 flavors, "Pistachio" and "Milk", are available for a double serving at 500 yen. The Pistachio flavor is the same amber color as the one from Yukimono in Kokura. It tastes like pistachio. Thank you for the meal.

I heard that the famous chef from the restaurant Matsumountain, known for being one of the top 100 Japanese restaurants on Tabelog, has opened a soft serve ice cream shop. It's difficult to visit Matsumountain, but you can easily enjoy their soft serve ice cream. I visited during a trip back home. The shop has a traditional Japanese exterior with a hemp leaf pattern. They offer soft serve ice cream and ice cream, and there is a seating area in the back. Most customers were getting takeout, as there was no limit on entering the shop and it was quite crowded inside. The seating area had a beach house vibe, so I decided to get takeout instead. I tried the Kurosaki Soft Serve for 400 yen and the Kurosaki Chocolate Soft Serve for 500 yen. The classic soft serve ice cream was delicious, with a rich flavor.
