UR Kanamachi Ekimae Danchi, located right near Kitaguchi Station on the JR Joban Line, is home to a small sushi restaurant called "Sushi Masamune Momotaro Sushi." They serve authentic hand-rolled sushi as well as affordable lunch options like chirashi and donburi. I ordered the "Three-color Donburi" (tax included 1,000 yen) from the three lunch options available. The lunch came with tsukune soup and seasonal fruit (strawberries on this day), making it a great deal. The three-color donburi included shrimp (1 sweet shrimp and 2 boiled shrimp), sea bream, and horse mackerel as the three types of toppings, accompanied by sweet and savory kanpyo, cucumber, daikon, and pickled radish and ginger. While I felt that the amount of toppings on the sushi rice was a bit lacking, considering the overall experience and the fact that it was a Sunday lunch menu, it was a satisfying sushi lunch experience.

Once upon a time, there was an old man and an old woman who lived together. Every day, the old man went to the mountains to cut grass, and the old woman went to the river to do laundry... Our restaurant is named after this famous old tale and is a traditional sushi restaurant in the downtown area. When I got off at Kinshicho Station to buy Japanese sweets, the striking sign of "Momotaro" caught my eye, so I decided to walk in. I ordered the 1000 yen seafood bowl for lunch. The service was very friendly. The TV next to the counter was playing, and it seemed like there were many regular customers from the local area. Even during my visit as a walk-in customer, I received warm hospitality. It seems like a place with friendly conversations. It must be a very convenient place for regular visits. However, during my visit, the TV screen was showing news about the Kyoto Animation arson attack, and as someone with many acquaintances in the industry, I was so engrossed in watching that I forgot to eat. The future is uncertain. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. That's what I thought. Now, we Food Log reviewers continue to post reviews without compensation. And what motivates me to continue this activity is the interaction with many other reviewers. Among them, memories of a friend who has passed away are irreplaceable treasures. The name "Momotaro" is a famous theme from Japanese old tales, but it is also a name that I cannot forget due to my connection with a certain individual. I cannot help but feel intense anger at the current situation of being repeatedly ignored and deleted without understanding these memories. And there has been no response to my offer of information. My speculation about a certain matter is becoming more certain. The title is a quote from the famous photojournalist Yasuzo Nojima. His collection of letters, which I read as a child, had a significant impact on my life. And he, influenced by the renowned war photographer Robert Capa, must have written these words, creating a strange connection with my fondness for imitation texts. "If improvements are made successfully, I will report back to everyone. If I step on a landmine, goodbye!"

Located a 2-minute walk from Kanamachi Station North Exit. Visited with family at night. A typical sushi restaurant in the downtown area. We sat in a tatami room and ordered a few standard dishes. The taste was average. We didn't revisit afterwards. The service was friendly, so no complaints there. I've been living in this area for almost 10 years, but it's hard to find a casual family-friendly restaurant to go to. I hope that when Tokyo University of Science is established, there will be more options like that, but I have a feeling that I may have moved by then.
