Visited on March 20, 2022. During this trip, I had my first experience on a yakatabune boat at Harumiya, which can be considered the highlight of the trip. For us, people from Hokkaido, this yakatabune experience was a dream come true. We gathered at the pier at 17:45, where attendance was confirmed, and then we were guided onto the boat. The boat had around 10 to 12 tables (depending on the boat) with sunken kotatsu tables, which was very comfortable. The boat set sail with lively commentary from the boatman, and at the same time, the all-you-can-drink service started. Our boat had around 20 people from 10 different groups, and the party began. Ventilation and distancing measures were properly in place. The boatman provided guidance throughout the journey, allowing everyone to enjoy the drinks while taking in the scenery. We stopped at photo spots like Tokyo Skytree and the Fuji TV building in Odaiba, where we could go up on the deck for photos. The food was served hot, and dishes like tempura were freshly fried and piping hot. Considering the variety of courses and the all-you-can-drink option, the price was quite reasonable. It was a fun experience. Thank you very much! ^^

I booked a private boat for a combination of work closing and birthday party with a summer theme for 20 people, even though we didn't have that many people. The total cost was 350,000 yen with 5 companions. The view was great, we had karaoke, drinks, and the tempura and conger eel were delicious.

Freshly fried tempura comes out in abundance! Tempura includes conger eel, young ayu, shrimp, and horse mackerel, all packed with seafood. Finally, udon and mixed rice were served, and needless to say, our stomachs were about to burst.

I finally rode on a yakatabune (traditional Japanese houseboat) that I had always wanted to try! I was filled with excitement! I eagerly headed to the boat dock in Asakusa in the evening. I couldn't wait! Let's board the boat! Wow! It has such a nostalgic atmosphere. There were many foreign tourists as well. I felt moved, thinking that humanity had finally overcome the coronavirus. It was truly heartwarming to see people from all over the world changing the norms of society, enduring and innovating, and finally putting an end to the long battle. Sorry for the long introduction. Once aboard, the banquet hall-like setting was already prepared with food. It was great! And you can order drinks by scanning a QR code with your smartphone, it's all-you-can-drink. We enjoyed delicious food and drinks while savoring the atmosphere of the Sumida River before dusk. And when the sun began to set, the boat suddenly stopped. What's happening!? An announcement was made, and we were told to go out onto the deck! There, the Skytree was illuminated! As a tourist, I was simply moved! A yakatabune where you can enjoy delicious food, drinks, and breathtaking views, I thought it might be a bit expensive before going (12,000 yen per person), but it was worth every penny! I would love to go again! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

You can board near the Ryogoku Bridge and enjoy the view from the deck while cruising Tokyo Bay and near Asakusa. They serve Edo-style tempura freshly fried. The ship is quite large, but the drink delivery is quick, and you can enjoy all-you-can-drink. It was my first time on a houseboat, but I was quite satisfied.

Thank you for viewing. I would appreciate it if you could follow, like, save, and follow on Instagram. Your support is very encouraging. On Instagram, I also recruit companions for hard-to-book restaurants. I was invited by a friend to ride on a houseboat! I was able to eat freshly fried tempura and the course meal was quite substantial, so I was full. I thought I might get seasick, but surprisingly I didn't feel any sway when the boat was moving, haha.

On Friday night, I used this place for a company drinking party. It can be reserved for up to 20 people. There are several boarding locations to choose from, but this time we chose the Harumi-Kachidoki boarding location. It's about a 5-minute walk from Kachidoki Station. The all-you-can-drink course starts at a minimum of 12,000 yen per person. Even with the 12,000 yen course, we were served a variety of dishes such as tempura, sukiyaki, and sashimi, so it was satisfying. The rental time is 2.5 hours, with the last departure at 7:30 pm and return at 10:00 pm. During the cruise, the boat staff introduced sightseeing spots through a microphone. When we reached Odaiba, the boat stopped and we could go up to the deck. The night view was beautiful and it was a great experience. Payment is split into two parts: an advance payment after booking and a final payment. They are flexible with receipts and payment methods, which I find convenient for company use.

The meal on the houseboat exceeded my expectations in terms of both the variety and quality of the dishes. It was really delicious. In addition to that, we were served freshly fried tempura, Fukagawa rice, cold udon noodles, and dessert. I was very satisfied! When we arrived at the night view spot, the boat stopped for about 15 minutes, allowing us to go up on deck. There, we could take photos and enjoy the night view! I was surprised by how clean the restroom was. This is definitely a big plus point. The all-you-can-drink alcohol option was included, and at 11,000 yen per person, it's a reasonable price. Thank you for always reading! If you could, please give it a thumbs up and save it as well (≧∀≦)

On the 3rd day of the 10-day Golden Week holiday. In the morning, I lined up for ramen at a ramen shop in Higashikurume, and in the evening, I checked into a hotel in Shinbashi with plans for a Tokyo Bay cruise. After having a couple of drinks at Heso in Shinbashi, I checked into the hotel. Since the next day was planned for gourmet tours in the city center, and the day after that was a flight from Haneda to Kumamoto, I wanted to make this place my base. The main plan for this day was to enjoy a leisurely cruise on Tokyo Bay with my company's colleagues on a yakatabune while having a drink. However, I couldn't get moving, and before I knew it, I was being blamed by Corona and left with unfinished business. But with my transfer as an opportunity, my colleague asked me, "Is there anything you want to do?" and I immediately answered, "Yakatabune!" My colleague seemed to have the same idea and quickly made a reservation for us. When we arrived at Ryogoku station to meet up, we headed towards the boat pier, passing by the Kokugikan sumo arena. It was raining. It must be because of my misdeeds... Upon reaching the pier, a boat that looked the part was docked. Boarding began shortly before the meeting time, and we were guided inside. The maximum capacity of the boat is about 140 people, but there were only about 40 people on this day. Seats were spaced out to create seating arrangements. The course of the boat departing from Ryogoku goes down the Sumida River, turns around near Odaiba, passes by Ryogoku again, and turns around again at Asakusa and Oshiage. During the 2 hours and 30 minutes, we were served the Furi-sode Gozen course and all-you-can-drink alcohol. Upgrading the dishes was also possible. Upon sitting down, the dishes were already set up to some extent. We immediately toasted with Kirin Ichiban Shibori! The boat was swaying, and I felt like I was getting drunk faster than usual... The first two appetizers were Lawrenia and Komatsuna sesame soak and seasonal fish Nanbanzuke. The sesame soak had a gentle flavor, while the Nanbanzuke had a sharp acidity. The Maesa Hachijun consisted of cheese, broccoli salmon rolls, grated new onion, konjac, and white fish tempura. It was quite delicious. The seasonal fish assortment for sashimi included tuna, sea bream, and squid. The sea bream was soft and sticky. The stewed dish was rolled yuba and shrimp stew. The yuba was sweet, and the taro was delicious. The stew was also well-prepared. The grilled dish was domestic beef sukiyaki. The tender and sweet meat was cooked on a ceramic plate. The sauce was also to my liking. I chose red wine for drinks. We refreshed our palates with pickles, and the highlight of the meal was the tempura. The freshly fried tempura included a tilefish. We dipped it generously in tempura sauce and grated daikon. It was plump and delicious. The tempura was served with bamboo shoot rice, which had a good texture and flavor. The second tempura was conger eel. It was crispy and plump.

A cozy atmosphere. Many attractions like the Skytree and Fuji TV. There is designated time for taking photos on the deck. The food is average. The tempura towards the end fills you up. The all-you-can-drink option is nice and the staff is friendly. The ship is well-ventilated, so it can be a bit chilly. It was a good memory.

We were blessed with good weather for our first time at Asakaiya, and it was my second time on a yakatabune boat in my life. The view was amazing. The menu was plentiful, including: appetizers, simmered dishes, sashimi, nanbanzuke, beef sukiyaki, and pickles. It was a 3-hour course, so we started with a toast with beer. There was also a variety of drinks available. We leisurely enjoyed the meal. We also went up to the deck to bask in the sun and relax. Time flew by quickly. We enjoyed freshly fried tempura with our drinks. The meal was complete with takikomi gohan, udon, and dessert. We were full. Thank you for the feast.

Unfortunately, I didn't go on a yakatabune boat ride due to the rain! The boat might be a bit rocky. This time, we rented the boat for private use. Two people efficiently brought out tempura, kisu (sillago), conger eel, shrimp, bell peppers, mixed rice, udon noodles, grilled fish, and fruit. The portions were just right. The taste and presentation were better than some restaurants. The restroom was also clean. It's a shame it was raining, but we still enjoyed the view from the deck.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to go back to Tokyo for a visit, taking advantage of the Goto Travel campaign and using the regional common coupons at various participating stores. I checked the list and contacted the Yakata-bune boat "Seikaiya" which was available for same-day reservations. When I used to work in Tokyo during my Lehman days, I would treat myself to a Yakata-bune boat ride at my own expense, so this was my first time using the coupons. It was a bit of a luxury experience. It was only a 5-minute walk from Kachidoki Station to the Seikai boarding place (Asashio small boat boarding place). On this day, the seating capacity was reduced to half, with only a few groups on board, mostly families of up to 3 people, and there were no loud groups on board. The meal included a variety of dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, grilled dishes, simmered dishes, fried dishes, rice, soup, pickles, and dessert, all with free-flowing drinks. The drink menu included beer, whiskey, plum wine, apricot liqueur, shochu, wine, sour, and various soft drinks. After departure, we immediately lit the fire for the sukiyaki, while enjoying the appetizers, sashimi, and other dishes. The boat moved to Tokyo Bay, where we could see the night view of Odaiba and the Rainbow Bridge, and it was time for Edo-style tempura. We enjoyed freshly fried tempura dishes such as conger eel, eggplant, sweet potato, squid, and prawn. As we returned to the vicinity of the Skytree, we were served a simmered rice dish with clams and unexpectedly cold udon noodles. By this time, I was quite full, but I still managed to enjoy the coffee jelly dessert. The boat trip was accompanied by seagulls and sea cats, and it was a pleasant experience overall. The Edo-style tempura served on the boat is also available for delivery or takeout from a shop near Kasai Bridge in Koto Ward. The boat tour, the food, the staff's service, and the announcements were all great. The young and handsome staff members provided excellent guidance, and we had a fun time with the views and the safety measures in place.

Seiunoya @ Asakusa (boarding place) - Perfect infection control on a houseboat We, Tokyo Hormones, thought it was much safer to rent a houseboat than to eat at a crowded restaurant. We used to hold boat GIG events every summer, but the boat company we were working with, Hamadaya, closed down. I was thinking of finding a different boat company, but with this corona commotion, I wondered if this event would end. Then, at a recent meeting, the venue was a houseboat. Didn't a cluster outbreak occur on a houseboat during the initial corona commotion? It's a small space where people get crowded together and make a lot of noise, so the risk of infection is high. It's a bit scary. I brought wet wipes and disinfectant alcohol in my bag, just in case. But when I arrived, it was huge! It's said to be the largest houseboat in Japan, with a capacity of 136 people. And it has comfortable sunken kotatsu-style seating. It even has a moody restroom that looks like it belongs in a high-end club. While docked, you can also go up to the upper deck. And the tempura is freshly fried, which is important. I don't know how much the course cost, but there were two sushi chefs on board, serving sushi. We also interacted with geisha and had a very meaningful time. As for infection control, there was temperature screening before boarding, acrylic sheets for splash prevention on the tables, and the windows were open for ventilation while sailing, so the ventilation was better than onshore restaurants. Most importantly, only about 40 people were on board a ship that can accommodate 136 people, so social distancing was perfect. Twitter had a problem, so I changed my account. Please follow Tokyo Hormones (New) at https://twitter.com/tokyo_horumons. I was able to log in to my previous account (with the Stamina-En profile screen). Sorry for the confusion. Follow us at https://twitter.com/tokyo_horumon. When will we do it next? Maybe this summer! -------------------------------------------- Restaurant Name: Seiunoya Location: Asakusa (boarding place) --------------------------------------------

This is my second time riding on a houseboat, but my first time on this one. We took a course going up the Sumida River where we could see the Skytree. We enjoyed a course meal that included 11 dishes such as premium tempura, appetizers, assorted dishes, seasonal delicacies, grilled dishes, sashimi, main dish, soup, rice, pickles, and dessert. The meal also included a drink all-you-can for 150 minutes. The tempura, including shrimp tempura, was delicious as it was fried fresh on the boat.

In the light rain, the boat quietly set sail. The inside of the boat was surprisingly spacious, like a banquet hall at a ryokan. The pre-set dishes were decent, but the tempura that was fried and brought to us on the boat was delicious. The night view wasn't as impressive as expected, probably due to the rain and the bright interior of the boat. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my first experience on a yakatabune thanks to the comfortable atmosphere inside and the attentive staff.

I rode on the yakatabune boat "Harumiya" on the day of the Sumida River Fireworks Festival. The cost was 42,000 yen per adult (including tax). We had to meet at 13:30 at Toei Subway Shinjuku Line Higashi-Ojima Station to get to a good spot to watch the fireworks. A microbus guided us to the boarding place, and we boarded at 14:00. Since it was my first time on a yakatabune boat, I was unsure of what to do, so I brought my own lunch, but there were already dishes set up on the table. Once the boat started moving, they quickly came to take drink orders. The food menu included appetizers, simmered dishes, a fresh sashimi platter, and more. The main dish was freshly fried Edomae tempura with four types of fish and vegetables. It was delicious and got us excited for the fireworks. They also served grilled eel rice, clear soup, and fried snacks in a pack. After the fireworks display, they brought out desserts like shiratama zenzai jelly, and we couldn't finish everything. We watched the fireworks on the boat's top deck, which had carpets and cushions laid out. We could see the fireworks at the second venue up close, but the ones at the first venue were a bit far and we couldn't hear the sounds. The cruise lasted from 14:00 to 21:00, and with the free-flowing drinks throughout, I think 42,000 yen was reasonable considering we spent 7 hours on the boat. My wife was also very satisfied, so I think it was a great experience.

I finally went to the yakatabune (traditional Japanese houseboat) that I've been wanting to visit for a while. Since I missed the chance to go in the summer, I was able to make a reservation this time. The boat had a pre-drink all-you-can-drink option, so we all toasted as soon as we set sail. It was a bit chilly, but when they announced the points of interest, it was nice to be able to open the windows and enjoy the view outside. ★Appetizer ★Assorted seasonal dishes ★Simmered dish ★Assorted seasonal sashimi: tuna, amberjack, squid These dishes were already arranged on the table when we sat down, so they were a bit cold. ★Freshly fried tempura: white fish, conger eel, eggplant, squid, shrimp, sweet potato Tempura was brought to us in order, freshly fried and crispy with large pieces of ingredients. ★Mushroom mixed rice You could also get seconds, and the rice was cooked just right. ★Clear soup ★Pickles ★Two types of dessert: grapefruit & pineapple, white bean sweet soup I requested a celebration when making the reservation, and they did it for free. Towards the end, there were other celebratory guests on board, and the surprise was a success, making the experience enjoyable for everyone. The two and a half hours of cruising on the floating restaurant, with good weather and beautiful views, made the meal even more delicious.
