The destructive power of the tangy Otafuku sauce is incredible! It's like a napalm bomb that burns everything to the ground. The combination of Otafuku sauce with Eight-Flavor Miso is equally powerful, and the squid tempura inside is doing a fantastic job. The shop also excels with its green onion-covered snacks with a hint of chocolate and chopped shiso leaves.

A while ago, I visited a shop in front of Hiroshima Station, and they have now expanded to Fukuoka as well. I had planned to visit the shop promptly, but ended up waiting a while before going. The signature dish, "Denkosekka" for ¥1360, is a unique okonomiyaki that is not pressed and wrapped in egg like an omelette. Although it may look like a small portion due to its shape, it actually contains a good amount of ingredients condensed inside the oval shape. Cutting it with a spatula and enjoying it with the delicious Okonomiyaki sauce is a delightful experience.

Hiroshima okonomiyaki had a wide variety of menu options. I opted for the iron plate grilled oysters, which were quite substantial in size. The oysters were easy to eat and were generously topped with plenty of enoki mushrooms and green onions. The oysters arrived on a hot iron plate, so they were piping hot. When wrapped in enoki mushrooms and green onions, I couldn't stop eating and it went well with the refreshing soda. Following the staff's recommendation, I also tried the butter-grilled oysters, which was a great choice. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The most popular dish, Denkosekka for ¥1360, has little sauce. Is this the way it is supposed to be? You can choose between udon or soba noodles inside. I chose soba, but it was tasteless white noodles. Is this how it is supposed to be? There was Otafuku sauce on the table, so I guess you are supposed to add sauce yourself. In the end, it tasted like Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Disappointing. The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and the Yakiramen for ¥730 also had a strong pork smell. I waited in line for about 15 minutes, but it's not worth waiting in line for. Both the staff and the taste were disappointing at this restaurant.

I mistakenly thought it was Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, but it's not written anywhere on the menu, right? It's just regular okonomiyaki, isn't it? I was imagining Modern-yaki! Well, it's different, isn't it? The noodles are cooked firm, I see... I might actually prefer Modern-yaki... but this is good too. Today, I watched "Monster" starting at 8:30 and arrived at Denkosekka in Canal City underground just 2 minutes before opening. I'll wait. During the 2-minute wait, I saw a review on Tabelog mentioning Hormone. I decided to go for the Meatball Hormone. I'll get double noodles. I saw a review mentioning double noodles by Mairebi. So, obviously, I went for the double. You can choose between a table and counter seat. I chose the counter to watch the cooking. There were two staff members cooking, and they seemed to be good friends. They were lively, welcoming customers with a smile. After about 10 minutes, the dish was ready. It was served in front of me! I thought, "Wow!" but then I thought, "Wait, how do I eat this?" Do I eat it directly with the spatula? No, that's impossible for me! I decided to cut it into small pieces with the spatula and then transfer it to a small plate to eat with chopsticks. Is that the right way? As I was eating, I ran out of sauce and had to use the Okonomi sauce on the table. Should I pour it on the plate or directly on the dish? No, on the plate, right? It's fine, eat it however you like! I had a great time eating it! The movie "Monster" was quite good. It's no surprise it was submitted to Cannes. But I didn't know that showing the movie ticket gets you free double noodles... I was so happy when I found out! It was my first time trying Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. It was fun! Thank you for the meal.

Located on the first basement floor of Canal City, Denkosekka is a popular okonomiyaki restaurant that I have visited before when I was in Hiroshima. Due to its proximity to my workplace, I visit about once a month. I ordered the Cheese Okonomiyaki with extra cheese toppings, and chose soba noodles as the base. The Cheese Okonomiyaki comes with squid tempura, meat, and egg toppings. The deliciousness and texture of the squid tempura add a nice touch to the dish, making it very tasty. Even though I usually get full after eating about half of it, it's so delicious that I always finish the whole thing.

Located just one subway stop from Hakata Station, right in front of Kushida Shrine Station, is an okonomiyaki restaurant in the underground of Canal City. This restaurant is famous in Hiroshima, and it was great to find it in Fukuoka as well. The restaurant has counter and table seating, but sitting at the counter allows you to watch your food being cooked on the hot plate. I ordered the Niku Tamayaki for 875 yen plus double noodles for 230 yen including tax. It was enjoyable to watch it being cooked right in front of me. The unique dome-shaped okonomiyaki and the delicious noodles from Isso Seimen were a delight. It was a great experience to be able to enjoy it in Fukuoka. Also, it's nice that if you post a review on Google, you can get a free soft drink or mini ice cream as a bonus.

I went to Denkosekka in Canal City Hakata to try Hiroshima's soul food, Hiroshima Okonomiyaki, as it was the end of the year. Instead of traditional New Year's soba, I decided to try something different and went for their most popular dish, Denkosekka. It had a unique shape resembling a round omelette rice. The dish included meat, double eggs, choice of soba or udon, squid tempura, large leaves, topped with green onions and added oysters. I chose soba as the base. The thin crepe-like batter was filled with plenty of cabbage and lightly cooked eggs, resulting in a fluffy and cute appearance. The slightly sweet "Otafuku sauce" and steamed cabbage enhanced the deliciousness of the dish.

I stopped by Canal City for some shopping and decided to visit Otafuku because I was feeling nostalgic for their sauce. I ordered their most popular dish, Denkosekka (1,400 yen). It had squid tempura and shiso inside, topped with a generous amount of green onions. Despite its appearance of being very filling, it was actually light and easy to eat. I could choose between a plate or a hot plate, so I was able to enjoy it while it was still warm.

Last month, I didn't really enjoy the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki I had with my friends, so I was looking for a delicious okonomiyaki somewhere. Since my all-time favorite restaurant is no longer around, I was seeking a taste that was at least somewhat similar. I decided to visit this restaurant in Canal, which seemed to have good reviews. I ordered the pork and squid okonomiyaki for 980 yen. You can choose whether it comes on a plate or on a hot plate, and I chose the hot plate because I wanted it to stay hot until the end. Okonomiyaki takes some time to be served, so I passed the time by checking social media. As I was browsing, the okonomiyaki for the people who came in just before me was ready, so I thought it must be my turn soon. The okonomiyaki looked different than what I was used to - it was round and fluffy. It had a small spatula attached, but they also provided a small plate and chopsticks, so I cut it with the spatula and ate it with the chopsticks. It was delicious, but as I expected, there wasn't enough sauce since it was only on top of the okonomiyaki. I added more sauce from the bottle on the table while eating. I always wonder if this dish is meant to be seasoned by the customer. Also, the yakisoba noodles were a bit undercooked, with a hint of raw doughy texture. Thanks to the hot plate, the okonomiyaki stayed hot and tasty until the end. I think I would prefer it with more cabbage next time. I'll ask for double the vegetables next time. I finished eating before the couple who came in before me, surprising myself.

The first "Bib Gourmand" awarded Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant, as featured in the 2013 Michelin Guide Hiroshima, has landed in Kyushu. Known as the soul food of Hiroshima, this okonomiyaki restaurant offers a mix of traditional and unique charms, with a distinctive round shape resembling an omelette. When I visited the shop in front of Hiroshima Station, there was quite a long line of tourists. The Canal City Hakata branch is also a popular spot, attracting many visitors. Despite not being a specialty of Hakata (laughs), there was still a line of locals. I waited about 20 minutes to enter the shop. I tried the interestingly named okonomiyaki dishes "Denkousekka" for 1,210 yen and "Yume" for 1,430 yen. The popular No. 1 menu item "Denkousekka" includes meat, double eggs, choice of soba or udon, squid tempura, shiso leaves, and green onions as toppings. "Yume" features meat, eggs, choice of soba or udon, squid tempura, squid, nori, green onions, and a sunny-side-up egg as toppings. I chose soba noodles for both. The thin, crepe-like dough is generously filled with vegetables, creating a cute, fluffy, round shape. Despite both being called "okonomiyaki," this dish has evolved differently from the hearty Fukuoka soul food "Fukuya" okonomiyaki. The noodles are perfectly cooked with a good balance of vegetables, resulting in a delicious harmony. The slightly sweet "Otafuku sauce" does a great job of enhancing the flavors. With other intriguing menu items like "Dance Number," "Be Kind to People," and "King of Lucky," I'm tempted to try them all. I'm starting to feel the ambition of conquering all the menu items. Having a drink at Canal in Hiroshima. Canal "Denkosekka" It's been a while since I last visited Canal. Some of the underground shops in North Building have changed, and Hiroshima's okonomiyaki restaurant "Denkosekka" is now there. It's been open for over a year, but I wonder why I haven't been here for so long. It's nighttime, but I went in because they had this menu. It's like a light drinking set, but the dishes are specialties from Hiroshima. First, I had a draft beer and enjoyed these three dishes: smoked and oil-marinated oysters, squid tempura with lemon (probably from Hiroshima), and just the right amount of lemon in the beer. It was a treat. Thank you for the meal. ● Shop Information Denkosekka 050-5890-4064 1-2-1 Sumiyoshi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City Canal City Hakata North Building B1F

At Hiroshima Station, there was a long line at the restaurant. I wanted to eat there in Hiroshima, but gave up. However, I was surprised to hear that it was in Fukuoka. I hurried there and there was only one group waiting! I was so happy!! The okonomiyaki was served on a hot plate! It was quite big! The okonomiyaki looked cute and tasted like typical okonomiyaki, hot and delicious! The taste was neither good nor bad. It was a plain okonomiyaki without any distinctive flavor.

A shop located in Canal City Hakata in Fukuoka. It is a restaurant chain known for its Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. I didn't expect to eat okonomiyaki in Hakata when I came from Hiroshima on this day (laughs). I ordered: - Nikutama-yaki (meatball okonomiyaki) for 825 yen - Komochi konnyaku (konjac with baby fish) for 500 yen - Draft beer (medium size) for 670 yen It was delicious (*^-^*)_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ Thank you very much for reading until the end. If you like, please "save the restaurant" and give it a "like"! I will reply to comments if you leave any. I hope this review can be helpful to everyone, even a little bit. ▽I also update on Instagram. HIDE GOURMAND【@hide06_21】

Head to Canal City Hakata North Building B1 in Sumiyoshi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture to try some unique okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki here is unlike any other, with fluffy eggs that resemble an omelette, special fresh noodles, and the classic rich Okonomi sauce from Otafuku. It all comes together perfectly to create a sweet and tender okonomiyaki. The staff is also unique and friendly, making the dining experience enjoyable and delicious.

There are many branches of "Denkosekka," but the atmosphere seems to vary depending on the region. This one is located inside the canal, giving off a local teppanyaki restaurant vibe where you can enjoy beer from noon. In Hiroshima, they have beef belly instead of horse sashimi called "Koune." It might be fun to enjoy that while chatting away. Thank you for the meal! (*^◯^*)

Second visit to this restaurant that I've always wanted to try! I asked for the tempura without the batter to make it a bit healthier. Maybe because of that, it felt light, but the portion of soba noodles was huge, like enough for two people. It might be good to share it with someone. But it looked great and was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

This is a restaurant I've loved since visiting Hiroshima! Their Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is so cute and delicious! They offer a variety of ingredients for the okonomiyaki, so it's always fun to try something different each time. You can choose between a hot plate or a plate, but I always go with the hot plate to keep it piping hot! It's not a big chain restaurant yet, so I'm happy that it's within reach.

I went for lunch on a regular day. The staff's energetic greetings were a bit surprising, but it seems to have a good effect on attracting customers. The Hiroshima Lemon Sour was refreshing and delicious. As for the okonomiyaki noodles, I opted for udon. It was ready in about 5 minutes after ordering, and it was quite tasty. I definitely want to eat here again in Hiroshima!

I found a chain restaurant that I used to visit in Hiroshima at Hakata Canal. I had authentic Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, not just Hiroshima-style, and it was a real treat after a long time. Today, I tried the most popular one called Denkosekka cooked on an iron plate. It's definitely the number one in Fukuoka! ❤️
