Visit date: 05/02/2023 Order: Chef's selection Comment: This restaurant is truly located right in front of the station. I believe it has been around for quite some time, but this was my first visit. The prices are reasonable, and it was not too crowded, making it a good place for a quick sushi meal. My companion ordered a variety of items, but I opted for a bottled beer, engawa (fluke fin), and octopus dishes to enjoy a relaxing time. From observing the orders of other customers, it seemed like the turban shell was a popular choice. Thank you for the meal.

This is a reasonably priced conveyor belt sushi restaurant located right in front of Shimokitazawa Station. They offer a wide variety of 100 yen (excluding tax) plates, and if you find some good deals, you can feel quite satisfied. Personally, I like the mayonnaise topped with whelk. Also, try the sardines if they have them! For 200 yen plates, the tuna and flounder are delicious. Just remember, this is a budget conveyor belt sushi restaurant, so don't expect excessive service.

Under the redevelopment of Shimokitazawa Station, the area in front of the station has improved. Previously, there were temporary fences when you exited the ticket gate, making the surroundings quite cramped. Recently, those temporary fences have been replaced with proper fences, creating a more spacious feel. You can now see the rotating sushi restaurant "Ganso Sushi" from the station square. I decided to visit after a long time. While I have been to several major conveyor belt sushi chains recently, I found the separate wasabi a bit unsatisfying. This was resolved by the hand-pressed sushi made by the skilled chefs at Ganso Sushi. The toppings were quite delicious, and the rice was on the smaller side, allowing me to have 10 plates. The cheapest plate is priced at 99 yen, which is a great deal. The tuna and shrimp were particularly good. The most expensive plate I had was 200 yen, and the total for 10 plates came to 1364 yen. It was a great meal.

I went to this restaurant for lunch where you can easily enjoy delicious sushi. The sushi prices range from 100 yen, making it affordable to eat regular sushi. They also offer special sushi dishes on specific days for only 90 yen per plate, which is very convenient! It's a casual and reasonably priced conveyor belt sushi restaurant where you can easily dine alone.

Today's lunch! Kuru Sushi, Shimokitazawa branch ^_^ This is a memorable restaurant for me as I have been going there for almost 20 years since my student days, including other branches. Recently, the Shibuya Dogenzaka branch closed down due to the coronavirus, so I wanted to contribute to their sales in some way and chose it for today's lunch! When it comes to Kuru Sushi, I think of affordability. It offers a unique taste compared to large chain restaurants like Sushiro or Hamazushi. It's not particularly fresh or incredibly delicious, and the interior is not fancy, and the service is not exceptional. But it's a place where you can easily enjoy sushi with a cup of tea. In fact, there were men drinking in the afternoon and others who casually came in for lunch today. The Shimokitazawa branch seems to attract people working nearby, musicians, and actors. I hope that such restaurants will continue to exist even after the end of the coronavirus. That's how my lunchtime went.

A long time ago, at 11 PM, do you remember playing "Kabushiki Sushi" and getting nervous? I think it was a segment hosted by Tamori. It was funny, right? The daily special squid was deliciously slimy, and they always focused on serving cheap service tuna. I would always end up getting one or two Negitoro battleships. I also drank cold sake, but it was surprisingly cheap at just over 1,000 yen. The prices were low, so the sushi pieces were small, but it was just the right size when enjoying it with sake.

I had been looking for LR41 batteries for my thermometer for a long time, but I found plenty at a simple electric shop in town. They even wrapped them up in cute packaging, which made me happy. After finding the batteries and feeling relieved, I treated myself to tuna, yellowtail, squid, shrimp, sweet shrimp, and negitoro at a nearby revolving sushi restaurant (the manager passed away from overwork). It was delicious! I need to start measuring my basal body temperature from tomorrow because I might ovulate soon haha♡

Visited a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in front of Shimokitazawa Station around 6 pm on February 13, 2020 (Thursday). Started with some hot sake. Ordered grilled mackerel and a freebie of tsuro (flying fish) sushi. The tsuro sushi is only 90 yen each, so you can eat as many as you want for a good price. If you only eat these, even if you have 10 plates, it's still under 1000 yen. Next, had some tuna battleship sushi, yellowtail, and seared salmon with miso. The tuna battleship sushi is also 100 yen each, with a mix of lean and fatty cuts. The yellowtail was fatty and delicious, and the seared salmon with miso was seared salmon with miso sauce on top. It was so good that I ended up ordering another plate. This is a recommended place where you can easily enjoy sushi in front of Shimokitazawa Station. Thank you for the meal.

Located in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. Prime location in front of the station. Tenkajyo Sushi is a blast from the past. In conclusion (lol), this place is definitely tastier than Sushiro♪ A traditional conveyor belt sushi restaurant. And it's cheap. Most plates are 100 yen, with some occasional 200 yen plates or even discounted 90 yen plates. While some items may look a bit dried out, they are constantly replenished, so it's not too bad. They use the old-fashioned method of stopping plates and putting them on the conveyor. Surprisingly, when you order at other conveyor belt sushi chains, you often get partially frozen, still hard pieces of fish. But here, if you wait a bit after the fish is put out, it's thawed just right, which is great. Good sushi should be at room temperature, right? The quality of the fish may not compare to high-end sushi restaurants, but they seem to put effort into sourcing decent quality fish. I had yellowtail, horse mackerel, cured mackerel, tuna, salmon, and more. 12 plates for 1350 yen. The service is okay. There are also foreign staff. The customers vary, from young people to foreigners to middle-aged folks from Setagaya. When I went, the crowd was on the older side. Thanks for the meal!

Visited a conveyor belt sushi restaurant near Shimo-Kitazawa Station around 6 pm on August 5, 2019 (Monday). Started off with some cold sake. The first sushi I tried was the Tsubu Mayo (80 yen), which was a battleship roll of mayo-marinated whelk. The whelk had a nice texture and was quite generous in portion. Next, I had the Servistro (90 yen) and Salmon Belly (160 yen). The Servistro was a bit small but a good deal for fatty tuna at 90 yen. The Salmon Belly was rich in fat and flavor, melting in the mouth. I also added on the Mackerel, Salmon Trio, White Fish Tataki (130 yen), and Tuna battleship. The Mackerel was well-preserved and flavorful, while the Salmon Trio included normal salmon, salmon belly, and seared salmon. The White Fish Tataki was almost sold out, but it was a great deal for a battleship with plenty of white fish at 130 yen. All the sushi paired well with the sake, and having all this sushi and drinks for under 2000 yen was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for the meal.

A rotating sushi chain that has been in Shimokitazawa for a long time. I visited because I wanted to quickly eat a late dinner and satisfy my recent craving for fish roe. I don't particularly like the atmosphere of restaurants that emphasize cheapness. When I entered this restaurant, that same atmosphere was present. There were two staff members behind the counter, working with their backs hunched, possibly because closing time was approaching. The customers also seemed to blend into that atmosphere while eating. As I was drinking my first beer, I noticed a family of four sitting next to me. The father said, "Are you done eating?" to his family, indicating that they should leave. The two sisters, who appeared to be in middle or high school, started a conversation about how one of them only ate Negitoro and how the other only ate the 100 yen items. The older sister praised the Negitoro, which seemed to have impressed the sushi chef, who was working with his back hunched behind the counter. The younger sister asked if sushi chefs have to train a lot, to which the sushi chef shyly replied, "Maybe, hehe." From that moment on, the sushi chef's mood changed significantly. He started giving clear instructions to the other chef, speaking to a foreign customer, and even checking on each customer individually. The atmosphere became livelier, with customers starting to order more enthusiastically. It seemed like the younger sister's simple words had energized the sushi chef, making him more attentive and cheerful. It was amazing to see how a few words from that young girl could brighten up the whole place. Inspired by that, I added two more pieces of ikura, which I had been enjoying since earlier, and left the restaurant with a smile. I may have looked like just an old man who ate a lot of ikura, but the 160 yen ikura was truly satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

On April 3, 2019 (Wednesday) at 8:30 PM, after finishing a work-related drinking party, I went for a second round alone at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. This restaurant is located in front of Shimokitazawa Station and I had been curious about it for a while. First, I ordered some sake with horse mackerel and cured mackerel. The horse mackerel had a good amount of fat and the cured mackerel was slightly smaller with a strong vinegar taste. Next, I tried the recommended black throat sea perch and salmon belly. The black throat sea perch had a rich amount of fat and a good thickness, making it the best thing I had that day. The salmon, both the belly and nigiri, were also of high quality. Finally, I finished with a miso soup with clams and headed home. I heard that the tuna is also recommended, so I would like to try that next time. Thank you for the meal.

There used to be a fountain in front of Shimo-Kitazawa Minami Exit where we would meet up. There was a revolving sushi restaurant that might have been there since that time. There was also a karaoke pub called "Sandora" underground. Karaoke pubs were popular back then, with customers taking turns singing on the stage in the hall. I entered the restaurant and saw an elderly chef behind the counter, with a part-time staff member assisting in the kitchen. We ordered mackerel, shrimp, sea bream, squid, and hot sake. The customers were mostly elderly and seemed like regulars. The chef was chatting amiably with them. At that time, sushi was something we only ate at funerals, so being able to casually enjoy sushi was like a dream come true. It was a nostalgic revolving sushi restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

This is a small conveyor belt sushi restaurant located near Shimo-Kitazawa station and a supermarket. I had been curious about it for a while, but was hesitant to enter because the seating looked cramped and the atmosphere seemed more geared towards men (similar to a ramen shop). However, the signs outside with "One plate for 100 yen, over 60 varieties" and the seasonal recommended dishes caught my attention. This time, I had a companion with me so I felt more at ease entering. Despite it being around 4 pm, the restaurant was quite busy with a diverse crowd including women dining alone, elderly locals, families, and businessmen. Surprisingly, there were fewer young people than I expected. The seating was indeed tight, so it might not be suitable for large groups. I noticed that some businessmen were enjoying side dishes and drinks rather than sushi, and it made me think that this place could also be used as an izakaya (pub) with its affordable prices and solo-friendly atmosphere. The proximity to the sushi chef and the ability to easily order non-conveyor belt items were great points. It was amusing to see everyone continuously ordering, although timing was crucial. If you find it difficult to order, dishes also come around on the conveyor belt, and the variety of sushi passing by is quite enjoyable to watch. It might sound trivial, but even if you have six plates of 200 yen sushi, it would only cost 1200 yen, or even less if you stick to plates under 1000 yen, allowing you to order your favorite dishes just for yourself. There are many unique options available, and you can enjoy choosing your favorite sushi while watching the conveyor belt or verbally ordering. As for the taste, it depends on the freshness of the ingredients and the sushi chef, but I find that the creative dishes and items like octopus and squid taste better than the traditional ones. Sometimes, the popular items like yellowtail seem too cold, and uni lacks its creamy texture. Overall, I recommend this place for those who want to enjoy a variety of sushi they love. I will definitely come back to enjoy solo dining at this conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the future.

There is a revolving sushi restaurant in Shimokitazawa. There are two revolving sushi restaurants in Shimokitazawa, and this is one of them. It used to be in a prime location in front of the south exit of Shimokitazawa Station, but due to station renovations, the south exit is now closed. Despite the decrease in geographical convenience compared to before, it is still bustling. The main feature of the original sushi restaurant is its affordability. There are many plates priced at 100 yen, and even more cost-effective options at 90 yen. The rice portions are on the smaller side, making it convenient for when you just want a little snack. It is a popular restaurant, so there are always many sushi dishes rotating on the conveyor belt. This makes it particularly convenient when you want a quick meal. Of course, you can also place orders by calling out to the staff. Today's daily special at 90 yen is the yellowfin tuna, which is a great deal. Sometimes there are reviews comparing revolving sushi restaurants to traditional sushi restaurants and criticizing the quality of the sushi at revolving sushi restaurants, but it's nonsensical to compare them when the prices are completely different. A plate at 90 yen is only 45 yen per piece. I appreciate the efforts made by the restaurant.

Shimokitazawa Station, near the station but not directly in front of it due to construction. This sushi restaurant offers only counter seating, so it may not be suitable for young children. They boast serving delicious Edomae sushi at a more affordable price than anywhere else. They receive fresh fish deliveries daily. The menu is extensive, with over 50 items available. They also host seasonal events for added enjoyment. They offer a toro service as well. Personally, I enjoy the salmon and kanpachi. Thank you for the meal.

I like cost-effective restaurants, but this one was at a level where I couldn't just accept it because it was cheap. There was no response when ordering, so I wasn't sure if they even heard me. The sushi pieces that came out were extremely thin and small, making it hard to tell what I was eating. The sea urchin was a strange dark brown color that I had never seen before and tasted unpleasant. The sushi rotating on the conveyor belt looked decent, so maybe it's better to just grab those. I can't speak for the freshness though. I understand that they are trying their best to offer affordable prices in this day and age, but with the way they seemed so grumpy, I didn't feel like revisiting. I wished they would consider increasing the prices a bit to improve the size and freshness of the sushi.
