This is a small conveyor belt sushi restaurant located near Shimo-Kitazawa station and a supermarket. I had been curious about it for a while, but was hesitant to enter because the seating looked cramped and the atmosphere seemed more geared towards men (similar to a ramen shop). However, the signs outside with "One plate for 100 yen, over 60 varieties" and the seasonal recommended dishes caught my attention. This time, I had a companion with me so I felt more at ease entering. Despite it being around 4 pm, the restaurant was quite busy with a diverse crowd including women dining alone, elderly locals, families, and businessmen. Surprisingly, there were fewer young people than I expected. The seating was indeed tight, so it might not be suitable for large groups. I noticed that some businessmen were enjoying side dishes and drinks rather than sushi, and it made me think that this place could also be used as an izakaya (pub) with its affordable prices and solo-friendly atmosphere. The proximity to the sushi chef and the ability to easily order non-conveyor belt items were great points. It was amusing to see everyone continuously ordering, although timing was crucial. If you find it difficult to order, dishes also come around on the conveyor belt, and the variety of sushi passing by is quite enjoyable to watch. It might sound trivial, but even if you have six plates of 200 yen sushi, it would only cost 1200 yen, or even less if you stick to plates under 1000 yen, allowing you to order your favorite dishes just for yourself. There are many unique options available, and you can enjoy choosing your favorite sushi while watching the conveyor belt or verbally ordering. As for the taste, it depends on the freshness of the ingredients and the sushi chef, but I find that the creative dishes and items like octopus and squid taste better than the traditional ones. Sometimes, the popular items like yellowtail seem too cold, and uni lacks its creamy texture. Overall, I recommend this place for those who want to enjoy a variety of sushi they love. I will definitely come back to enjoy solo dining at this conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the future.
