There was a sign for "Fuku Fuku Manju" but when I went in, they were selling "Niku Man" and "An Man"! They also had shumai for sale! A kindergarten child was eating Blue Hawaii shaved ice with their mother inside the store! It was heartwarming. I bought two An Man. They were handed to me in a plastic bag straight from the steamer, so they were piping hot! I should have eaten them on the spot, but I didn't realize they were like steamed buns, so I was surprised and took them home to eat. The An Man was at room temperature. When I cut it, I found a beautiful smooth red bean paste inside. I took a bite. Oh, I like it. It's like steamed buns, like An Man. Wait, this is Fuku Fuku Manju! The smooth red bean paste is perfectly sweet! The dough is soft with no particular flavor. It doesn't have a distinct taste, but I really like the texture and mouthfeel. It's recommended for those who enjoy smooth red bean paste. I wonder how a meat bun would taste with this dough? It must be delicious! Next time, I'll buy both An Man and Niku Man! Thank you for the meal. There are no reviews for this place, but it seems that Mai Levie Gorogoro-san has known about it for a long time. (Referring to Gorogoro-san's review of a French tart in Sugamo) On this day, I arrived in Sugamo, bought An Pan, bought Shio Daifuku, bought a tart, ate shaved ice, visited two bakeries, walked to Sengoku to buy a cake, ate Neapolitan at a cafe! And then, I returned to Sugamo again! I stopped by here at the end of Sugamo! It was fun! I want to go back to Sugamo again! Yoshinori Asami was closed for summer vacation (?) on that day, so I need to revisit!

It would be nice if they could teach me how to heat it up. It's small, but if you want to eat meat buns from a not-so-good place, this is the place to go! The cheesecake is also delicious, but this time I found a piece of castella and bought it. There's no jealousy divorce, but it has a good taste. There's zaramé at the bottom, and it made me feel nostalgic. I was surprised that they only accept cash these days.

Located in Sugamo Station Rotary, they also offer steamed buns and dumplings. I was feeling a bit peckish, so I bought a pork bun for 130 yen. It's a cute, small pork bun. The taste is quite light and mild. It seems to have more of a chive flavor than meat. You can eat it guilt-free in just two bites, but it's a bit too small.

I, who usually try to avoid going out in Tokyo on weekends, ended up going out in Tokyo because I was invited by a Nigerian friend, haha. I'm going to Donichi Hananchi. Please come. After visiting the TAJIMAHAL in Tokorozawa on Saturday the 18th, I decided to go to another place. Wait a minute. If I'm going out in Tokyo on Saturday, maybe I should bring my friends to Sugamo Suruga-ya's Happy Cheese. And then maybe I can bring the half-sphere cheesecake from Seibu Ikebukuro Station's inside gate as well. It's nice to eat at the Ikebukuro Sky Garden. Wait a minute. If I bring half of each of the two items, it's basically one whole portion for me. I can just eat one Happy Cheese by myself. Then forget about the cheesecake in Ikebukuro. #End-of-life planning now I want to sort out things that could lead to regrets and lingering feelings before it's too late. Since we don't know when our time will come, it's best to do it as soon as possible. End-of-life planning is the last chance with no postponements or retries. End-of-life planning is urgent. It might be my turn to go the day after tomorrow. The shop's turn. The world's turn. I've been curious about the half-sphere cheesecake since my days working in Sugamo. I was planning to eat it with someone, but it never worked out. Now is a good opportunity. I was told they don't sell it in slices, but today they had it. I didn't hesitate and got a whole one (^~^)b

The meat bun costs 125 yen, which is not much different from the convenience store price, but I was surprised by how small it was. It's about half the size of a convenience store meat bun. As for the taste, it's just average. I felt that the cost performance was not good. I would feel more satisfied with a convenience store meat bun. I probably won't buy it again.

The restaurant is often featured on TV, so the inside is lined with autographs of celebrities. Since I was a child, I have been going to Suruga-ya in front of Sugamo Station. I bought Fukufuku manju as a souvenir for my coworkers. It's best to eat it while it's still hot.

After finishing lunch in Sugamo, feeling full but craving something sweet... I spotted the words "福々まんじゅう" while looking around the station. I was surprised I hadn't noticed it before, so I headed straight to the shop. Peeking inside, I saw them steaming in square steamers. I wanted to eat it right away, and when I asked, they said "Of course, please go ahead." Today's snack was decided to be an anman (113 yen)! I bought it and they wrapped it in paper for me, so I cut it in half. The hot red bean paste was gooey and steam was rising. I took a bite... Hmm? The saltiness came first, followed by a subtle sweetness. Is this how refreshing red bean paste tastes like? Delicious! It was smaller than convenience store anman, maybe about one size smaller. I finished it in no time! It's elegant in size, but a slightly bigger anman would be nice too, or maybe... If it was priced at 80-90 yen per piece, that would be great. Thank you for the meal!

In the past, I used to buy these meat buns because they were delicious and people would line up for them. They were so tasty that I would even buy them as souvenirs. However, after they were renovated, I bought them once and they didn't put it in a bag for me when I was eating and walking around. That turned me off and I started to forget about them. Recently, I bought Sekine's meat buns again and as I was writing a review, I remembered them and decided to give them another try. There were no customers in the store and the salesperson was just playing with their phone. It's not good to not be greeted with "welcome" when you enter a store. I bought 6 meat buns and they offered to put them in a box for an extra 50 yen, but I declined since I was taking them home. They are delicious, just like I remembered, and I realized why I used to line up for them.

This is Fukufuku Manju, a long-established shop. The meat buns are delicious too. It's not too fancy, so it's perfect for things like bringing as a gift when visiting friends or relatives.

Visited a shop right by the north exit of Sugamo Station in April 2018. I checked it out after hearing about the anman from a previous visit to Karisome Tengoku. In addition to meat buns, anman, and shumai, they also had unique items like soda buns. I bought shumai in a pack of 10, as well as meat buns and anman to take home. There is no seating area for dining in. The shumai was very meaty. The buns were on the smaller side, but the prices were reasonable. I think they are better than the Chinese buns from convenience stores. I would like to try the unique items as well. Rating at the time of visit: 3.01

This is a review of the Fukufuku Manju shop in Sugamo. I was pleasantly surprised by the cheesecake I received as a souvenir. It was a large dome-shaped cheesecake that was a special creation by the shop owner. It seems to be a limited edition item, but I highly recommend trying it. Thank you for the delicious treat! ¥1200.

I started working at a certain listed company about 40 years ago. My department was located in Bunkyo Ward, Shirokane. Whenever we had a party, we usually went to Sugamo, which was like my backyard. I remember being made to wait in line for the famous Fukufuku manju from there (by my seniors) and bringing 30 of them as gifts to our clients. I also remember our boss, who was an executive, giving us these manju as a treat while we were working late, saying "good job." There was always a long line in front of this place, with everyone buying 30 or 40 as souvenirs. Back then, the shop had a handmade feel and was not as fancy as it is now. There have been rumors that the taste has declined, with low ratings on food review websites and hardly any reviews. In fact, many people may not even know that this shop was once considered a top shop in Sugamo. There are no more long lines. Feeling nostalgic, I tried a nikuman (meat bun) for 128 yen. The appearance hasn't changed from the past, but the taste is completely different. The skin is now thicker than before, and as a result, the filling is less. The filling used to have a crunchy texture from fresh vegetables, and the aroma of sesame oil would spread out along with the meat juice in your mouth. But this nikuman now tastes worse than convenience store ones. Maybe there's some nostalgia bias, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. It's understandable why customers have stopped coming. Customers are honest, aren't they?

A food store near Sugamo Station with a signboard saying "Fuku Fuku Manju". They sell products with the name Fuku Fuku, such as steamed buns, shumai, castella, coffee daifuku, and dome-shaped cake called Happy Cheese. Today, I bought the meat bun and shumai from Fuku Fuku. The steamed bun has a filling made of cabbage and ground meat, and it's light. The shumai's packaging is similar to Sakiya Ken, and it has a rich flavor of scallops. There is also an anman available at Fuku Fuku Manju. It's a quaint and peaceful shop typical of the downtown area!

In Sugamo, there is a shop called "Surugaya" that sells Fukufuku manju. When you hear Fukufuku manju, you may imagine boxed steamed buns, but here they have meat buns and red bean buns. They also sell takeout shumai. I bought one meat bun (123 yen) because I was a little hungry. It's a small shop so they handed it to me directly, and it was much smaller than I expected haha. It's a very cute steamed bun. When I got home, I ate it right away. I finished it in 3 bites! The taste is quite light and elegant. Perhaps it's because of the local atmosphere in Sugamo? It may not be very compatible with those who prefer strong flavors. And about the price. I felt it was a bit expensive for this size. Comparing it to convenience stores, both in terms of taste and price, I would prefer convenience stores. Thank you for the meal.

During my time living in Sugamo, I used to purchase from this place almost every week. However, after the redevelopment and temporary relocation of the store, my visits gradually decreased. This is my first purchase since they moved back to their original location. Tonight, I bought my favorite coffee manju for dessert, as well as shumai and nikuman for dinner. They were as delicious as ever! The size is just right, and the prices are reasonable. These items serve more as supporting roles rather than main dishes. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.
