A highly praised restaurant by Mairebi-sama. It was a place I wanted to visit near my sister's house. We left the car at my sister's house and went by bike with my sister and three people. It took about 5 minutes. The owner seems to be managing the small restaurant with 8 counter seats alone, so during busy hours around 18:30, I felt sorry but I called to ask if we could enter with 3 people and how. The response was very polite, saying, "With 3 people, you can enter in a little while. You may have to wait a bit." Probably the customers who entered at the opening time of 18:00 were about to finish eating~ Of course, that's fine. I said. A few minutes after the phone call, we arrived at the restaurant at a good timing. When we opened the sliding door, "I called earlier..." "Ah, we were waiting for you. You can enter with 3 people now. Sorry, it's very narrow~" and we sat at the counter seats on the right. After that, it quickly became full, and even the loin cutlets were sold out for our order. It seems that more customers gave up and went home. Perhaps it's better to enter at the opening time for a popular one-person operation restaurant like this, or during lunchtime. The order was: Loin cutlet 1300 yen, Shoga (ginger) pork grill 1500 yen, Teppan (iron plate) pork grill 1500 yen, Rice 200 yen x2, Wakame seaweed miso soup 200 yen x2. The loin cutlet was sold out at this point. For my brother-in-law, a takeout: Fillet cutlet 1400 yen, Rice 200 yen. The Teppan pork grill was served first, followed by the loin cutlet, and finally the Shoga pork grill. There was quite a time difference between each serving, but since we shared it among the three of us, it was no problem~ At first, the Teppan pork grill was the right choice? The simple soy sauce-based sauce, the taste of the pork loin is clear. It's delicious♪ The loin cutlet, as usual, I took a bite without anything on it... All three of us exclaimed, "Sweet, delicious~♪" The batter is fried in a beautiful color. This is a delicious loin cutlet♪ And finally, the Shoga pork grill, put a bite-sized piece of pork and onion in your mouth. The intense ginger flavor spreads throughout your mouth. Besides ginger, is there sake? Mirin? Anyway, the intense ginger punch flavor is delicious. The onion is sweet! The texture and taste of the pork are excellent~♪ This ginger grill is delicious♪ All three of us agreed! The Wakame seaweed miso soup at Yuzunoka is also outstanding. It was also refined and delicious. After us, a group of four people was able to enter, but each time, the owner informed them that the loin cutlet was sold out, "Oh, then can we not have the Shoga pork grill?" Everyone seemed disappointed, so I understood (laughs). Thank you for the meal~ A small, small, historic tonkatsu restaurant. The owner, who has a lovely smile and kind customer service, introduced me to a really good restaurant. I want to have the Shoga pork grill all to myself next time! Due to its location, my sister's family seems to be more likely to become regular customers than me! (laughs) Regular customers seem to be satisfied with their visits, but as the owner cooks each dish carefully alone, there may be a considerable waiting time until the food is served, depending on the timing. It would be great if all customers could understand this.

6th visit. I tried to go to a certain Western-style restaurant, but surprisingly it was full (lol). I gave up and switched to tonkatsu mode. Pon-ta also crossed my mind, but since I went there yesterday, today I went to Tonpei-san after a long time. Arriving right after the opening on a weekday, I got the best seat. **Interior of the restaurant:** The sashimi I had during the day was still overflowing, so my stomach wasn't in top condition, so I decided not to order the usual two dishes and just went for the Rosukatsu for 1300 yen. Also ordered Tonjiru for 300 yen, and rice for 200 yen x 2 cups. **Impressions:** I am convinced today. Undoubtedly, the Rosukatsu here ranks number 1 in my tonkatsu department! The harmony of the light fat sweetness and the tender red meat umami is incredible. Perfect with white rice. The tonjiru, rice, pickles, and cabbage were all perfect! **My Tonkatsu Ranking:** 1. Futaba (Ueno) 2. Tonpei (Uguisudani) 3. Tonkatsu Bamboo (Honhachiman) 4. Hirekatsu Ponta Honke (Okachimachi) 5. Rosukatsu Narikura (Asagaya) 6. Tonkatsu JP (Omotesando) 7. Aoi (Kamata) 8. It's September 2023, and I had some errands in Ueno so I decided to extend my journey to Uguisudani. I think it was my first time using Uguisudani Station. The restaurant I was aiming for is a tonkatsu place that a popular reviewer has been raving about recently. I accidentally exited the wrong side of the unfamiliar station, so I navigated through the deep alleyways of the area to find the restaurant. I arrived just as the curtain was being hung. I was the first customer inside and took a seat at the counter. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, with a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. Although it's a tonkatsu place, I decided to order the ginger pork that the reviewer had enjoyed, along with rice and miso soup. The ginger pork slices were thick but cut into thin strips, and the seasoning emphasized the flavor of ginger. I really enjoyed the ginger flavor, and the meat had a good thickness to it. It had the richness of pork loin without being too heavy, and although it wasn't a premium pork brand, it was still flavorful and easy to eat. The thick slices of onion added a crunchy texture to the dish. The ginger, meat, and onion all came together perfectly, living up to the name "ginger pork." The miso soup was also delicious, with the flavors of the pork and vegetables blending well together. The owner, who was working alone, took great care in preparing the dishes, so it took a bit of time for them to be served. However, the delicious food made the wait worthwhile. I don't come to Uguisudani often, but I'm already thinking about what to try next time. Maybe I'll go for the pork cutlet. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Uguisudani to eat delicious tonkatsu. This time, I tried the popular Hirekatsu Rice for 1600 yen (miso soup is extra). When the rice arrived, I focused all my attention on eating and savored every bite. Before long, the Hirekatsu appeared! It was white! I first tried it without any sauce, delicious. Since there were three pieces, I tried one with salt, one with lemon and salt, and one with mustard and salt. It was a great meal.

I visited this restaurant because the overall reviews from reviewers were good. It is a small shop with only counter seating, and service is indeed slow with just one staff. I tried the pork cutlet, pork steak, and ginger pork. It is not cheap. The cutlet is cooked in low temperature, so it is soft but greasy. Personally, I prefer a crispy texture. The pork steak was greasy and had a strong meat smell, not to my liking. The ginger pork had a strong ginger flavor, not too sweet, and I liked the taste with lots of onions. The pickles were delicious. The miso soup with yuzu flavor was good, but it felt more like a pork soup with miso. The cabbage was tasty and you can get refills. The cabbage with mayonnaise and onions on the side was tasty. Maybe my expectations were too high, but overall, I didn't find the flavors particularly outstanding. Thank you for the meal.

Tonkatsu Tonpei @ Uguisudani A masterful one-man show by a talented owner who you can trust with your stomach. I was taught about this restaurant by a reliable connoisseur of food, and despite visiting numerous times during grave visits, I never noticed it. The small interior of the restaurant, with only a counter seating seven or eight people, becomes full quickly. The young owner manages the restaurant alone. First, a beer to relax after a long day. The dishes, such as vinegar seaweed and pickled vegetables, are made to order after receiving the request. I thought I was ordering something simple, but it turned out to be quite complicated (sweat). The pickled vegetables start with blanching fresh spinach, carefully removing excess moisture, resting it in the refrigerator, and then serving it. This meticulous process shows that this is not just an ordinary tonkatsu restaurant. The meat tempura is made by thinly slicing pork tenderloin into bite-sized pieces and quickly frying them at high temperature in a pot. The refreshing seasoning is definitely not just salt and pepper. When asked, I was told that soy sauce is used. I enjoyed it without any condiments, which made it a perfect accompaniment to beer. The unique texture and umami of the tenderloin are elevated to another level through the tempura technique. The crispy onion tempura was interesting with its soft texture. I couldn't help but eat it all in one go. The third dish was teppan meat grilling, which was seasoned with soy sauce and mirin in a Beijing pot. The addition of Tabasco at the end is a unique touch that you won't find elsewhere. The owner's skill in handling the pot was impressive. The final dish, which looked like ginger pork at first, had a distinct flavor profile that was enhanced by deglazing. It may look like ginger pork, but its sharp flavor profile is another perfect match for beer. The subtle Tabasco flavor that wasn't noticeable at first gradually built up as I ate, making the beer go down smoothly. It was delicious. I am truly impressed by the excellent dishes backed by a solid technique. I am grateful to the person who recommended this place.

I just visited this place last week, but it's already my 5th visit. Once I get hooked on something, I go all out (laughs). I called during the Bon holiday and they said they were open for regular business, so I decided to go for the first time during lunchtime with my partner. We arrived 30 minutes before opening and got the best spot. In the end, no one else showed up until opening (laughs). The interior of the restaurant has an L-shaped counter with 6 seats on one side and 3 on the other. This time, we sat on the side with 3 seats, which allowed us to see the owner's amazing work up close. I was amazed by the owner's meticulous and speedy work. He adds pork to the miso soup and grates fresh ginger for the ginger pork dish right before serving. As for the food, the pork cutlet and ginger pork dish were delicious as always. The careful work of the owner really shines through in the flavors. Today, even though we shared the ginger pork dish and only got half portions of rice, we were completely stuffed. I remember on my first visit, I managed to eat a whole pork cutlet, ginger pork dish, and two bowls of rice by myself. My partner, who shares the same taste preferences as me, was also extremely impressed and bursting with laughter. It was worth bringing them along.

Visited on a regular night. It was full of locals and regulars, so had to wait a bit before getting a table at this popular local spot. While waiting, I was asked by what seemed like a regular if it was full. The first dishes to arrive were rice and miso soup. I ordered the following: Hirekatsu (1400 yen), Nikuten Hire (1500 yen), Shoga Nikuyaki (1500 yen), Tonjiru (300 yen), and small rice (200 yen). I thought I ordered a small rice, but it was a bit much. The pickled vegetables that came with it were delicious, with a strong flavor. The miso soup had a yuzu flavor, with the sweetness of onions and the flavor of the meat being exquisite. The chef starts by cutting the onions, a quietly impressive cooking detail. - Hirekatsu: A white, thickly coated cutlet that was perfectly balanced. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful, delicious with just salt. The coarse salt paired well with the tonkatsu. The mayonnaise-like sauce next to the cabbage had a mysterious deliciousness to it. - Nikuten Hire: It was my first time trying this dish, which is like a pork version of chicken tempura. It had a pre-seasoned taste, making it easy to snack on. - Shoga Nikuyaki: Incredibly delicious. Even the regulars were eating it. The lightly colored ginger pork, with plenty of onions, was a different league compared to the usual ginger pork. The chef starts by grating the ginger, which is surprising but makes sense when you taste it. The fresh ginger flavor stands out, and the onions are cut in a way that retains their sweetness without being overwhelming. Mixing the cabbage with the remaining sauce enhances the satisfaction. The mysterious mayo-like sauce next to the cabbage was refreshing and a good palate cleanser. Overall, everything was delicious. The menu is small, but each dish is well-executed and immediately tasty. They seem to make each dish to order, so the wait for the food can be long. However, it's worth the wait. There is no drink menu, so I didn't order any drinks, but the regulars were having beer. I wonder if they have cola or something similar. I'll ask next time I go.

4th visit. My favorite tonkatsu restaurant in Uguisudani that I am currently hooked on. But I still haven't tried their loin cutlet yet (lol). So today, I decided to go for the loin cutlet and made a surprise attack on a weekday night. It's a 5-minute walk from Hibiya Line Iriya Station. I arrived 10 minutes before opening and had to wait outside. I peeked inside and saw the owner preparing behind the familiar frosted glass, so I was relieved that they weren't closed. And right on time, they opened. ■ Inside the shop I took a bottle of water from the fridge and sat at the farthest seat. For a moment, I hesitated on ordering the ginger pork, but I stuck to my original plan and ordered the loin cutlet for 1300 yen, pork miso soup for 300 yen, and rice for 200 yen. Until other customers arrived, I chatted with the owner about the lively shops in the Uguisudani area. I found out that Mars, where the beef stew was delicious, closed about 5 years ago (lol). ■ Impression The moment I took a sip of the miso soup here, I knew the level of this place would be outstanding! And the main event, the loin cutlet, was even more delicious than I expected! The first bite brought a chunk of fat that was unbelievably delicious! It wasn't heavy, but it had a mellow fat that clung to the tongue and was sweet. It melted in the mouth and mixed perfectly with the white rice. It was seriously amazing. The juicy texture of the meat was far from dry. I couldn't help but moan as I ate. The quality of the 1300 yen loin cutlet was beyond belief. Oh, what should I eat next time! By the way, while I was eating, the phone in the shop rang. It was a pink rotary phone (lol). So nostalgic!

3rd visit. After a business trip from Maebashi, I hopped on the Shinkansen from Takasaki to head back. I had planned to visit "Pon-ta" sooner, but my meeting ran late. When I checked the arrival time at Uguisudani Station on the Shinkansen, it was right at the opening time of Tonpei-san (laughs). So, even though I just came last Thursday, I changed my dinner plans for today. When I arrived at the restaurant, the owner was just putting up the noren curtain. ■ Inside the restaurant Today, I had ramen at "Ramen Jiro Maebashi Chiyoda" for lunch, so my stomach wasn't in the best condition. I happily decided to order just one item (laughs), and went for the highly anticipated Nikudon Hire (pork cutlet bowl) for 1500 yen without hesitation. I also ordered rice for 200 yen and miso soup for 300 yen. Since it was just the owner and me for a while, we had a lively conversation about "Pon-ta," "Ise-ya on the Riverside," and the eel restaurant "Onohana." By the way, the Nikudon Hire is deep-fried in a Chinese wok, not like a regular tonkatsu. After about 20 minutes, the food arrived. ■ Impression It may look quite plain (laughs), with slices of meat lined around the cabbage. However, when you taste it, the deliciousness hits my taste buds. The thinly sliced pork cutlet is fried in a tempura style, but why is it so delicious? The seasoning is just right, so it's perfect as is! You can also add salt to enhance the flavor even more. What really impressed me was the deep-fried onion ring that comes with it. It is insanely delicious! The batter itself is soft like tempura, but the sweetness and umami of the onion are bursting. Just one of these can go with a bowl of rice! The miso soup and pickles were also delicious without any shortcuts. The perfect harmony between the pork cutlet and rice made the rice disappear quickly, and I couldn't resist getting a second serving of rice to finish. Oh, this restaurant really gives off the same level of meticulousness as Pon-ta, but at 1/3 of the price. Fantastic! Next time, I might challenge the rosu-katsu (pork loin cutlet).

Second visit. The previous hirekatsu and ginger pork were so delicious that I was moved. I have a habit of getting hooked on things easily, so even though it hasn't been a week since my last visit, I'm back already (lol). I arrived five minutes before opening on a weekday evening and got the pole position. Peeking inside, I saw the owner preparing. And right on time, the shop opened with just me there. **Inside the shop** As usual, the owner was running the shop alone in complete silence. Before other customers arrived, I chatted with the owner without disturbing his work too much. Now, what to eat. I would love to order the same as last time, but there was a menu that caught my eye during my previous visit. It was the Teppan Nikuyaki and Niku Ten Hire. Despite being Japanese for 50 years, I had never seen these items on a tonkatsu menu before. I searched for reviews online and found one that gave me an idea, but I decided to ask the owner for more details. The Niku Ten Hire is tempura of pork fillet, and the Teppan Nikuyaki is thinly sliced pork loin sautéed with soy sauce, sake, and Tabasco, both being traditional menu items. I had a bowl of ramen at "Nantsuttei" during the day, and it was still lingering in my stomach, but I decided to stick to my two-dish rule (lol). However, I didn't want to get tired of both, so I strategized to focus on the Ebi Fry for 1700 yen and choose one of the other dishes. Since the Niku Ten Hire seemed similar to the Ebi Fry, I ended up ordering the Teppan Nikuyaki for 1500 yen, along with miso soup for 300 yen and rice for 200 yen. I started with the Ebi Fry. As soon as I put it in, it quietly started to sizzle, with a fine and delicate sound. Eventually, the sound became more lively, almost like a sparkler, resonating in the quiet shop. This serene atmosphere was irresistible! **Impressions** First, the Ebi Fry arrived. Three thick prawns. I squeezed lemon over them and tried them without anything else... Oh, the taste didn't disappoint. The thick prawns, I'm not sure of the type, were cooked with strong heat. They were plump and well-seasoned, so they were delicious even without any condiments. I tried soy sauce and sauce, but I found that eating them plain was the best for me. Just as I finished the Ebi Fry, the Teppan Nikuyaki arrived. The seasoning was extremely simple. The spiciness of the Tabasco wasn't very noticeable. It didn't have the same uniqueness or impact as the ginger pork, but it allowed me to taste the goodness of the pork loin more directly. The combination of this pork loin and white rice was outstanding, and the rice just kept disappearing! I'm sure the pork loin tonkatsu here is also undoubtedly delicious. The miso soup was as delicious as ever! I watched the process of making it, and it wasn't just reheating the finished miso soup. There were many detailed steps and meticulous work put into it. That's why it tastes so good! This shop must put the same care and effort into everything else, and it shows in the taste. What a wonderful shop! Due to the influence of the ramen I had during the day, I only had half an extra bowl of rice (100 yen) and finished my meal. The owner recommended that I try the Niku Ten Hire next time, and I had already planned to do so, but when I hesitated about what to order for one more dish, he said, "Customers often enjoy that one," and I couldn't help but smile.

First visit. I decided to go check out this ginger pork based on an Instagram post that made it look delicious. The location is Uguisudani. When you think of Uguisudani, you think of love hotels and yakiniku at "Uguisudani En," and I've been to Uguisudani En many times before, and have passed by this place many times as well, but never noticed it until now (lol). Arrived just after the opening at 6 pm on a weekday to find one male regular and a couple of three as the first customers. **Inside the store** A friendly man in his 40s appears to be running the place by himself. The interior of the store is quite small with an L-shaped counter of 6+3 seats. Each seat has a partition board. There is no background music, just the sound of frying echoing in the quiet store. The atmosphere is very Showa era and I find it quite calming. When you ask the man, he gives you a glass for water, and you can self-serve water from a small fridge in the back. **What to eat** I came here intending to eat the ginger pork, but after reading reviews, it seems that their pork cutlet is also delicious. Despite having eaten a sashimi set meal and two bowls of rice during the day, my stomach was not in perfect condition, but I couldn't resist ordering the ginger pork for 1500 yen, pork cutlet for 1400 yen, miso soup for 300 yen, and rice for 200 yen (lol). **Pork cutlet** As it was just after opening, I received the pork cutlet after about 30 minutes. The pork cutlet comes in 3 pieces, which is an unusual style. It is incredibly delicious! It doesn't have the uniqueness or assertiveness of a branded pork, but it has a taste that hits the spot and goes well with white rice. It reminds me of the impression I got from "Tonhatei" in Ueno. It is also delicious with cabbage and sauce. I was starting to wonder if they had forgotten about the ginger pork, but just as I finished the pork cutlet, the ginger pork started cooking in front of me. **Ginger pork** The ginger pork here is a rare type where the pork is finely chopped. It has a simple taste with just the right amount of ginger, but it is delicious! The balance is exquisite and it goes well with rice. The menu sign simply says "ginger meat grill," and the taste lives up to that straightforward name. The onions are crunchy, and they harmonize wonderfully with the thick pork. The meat is tender, and the right amount of fat is delicious! The pork miso soup is also incredibly tasty. It has a sweet Kyoto white miso flavor with a hint of yuzu, and the pork in it is tender. Before I knew it, I had finished everything. It was a wonderful tonkatsu restaurant, and I should have come earlier. The meticulous work, skill, and historical flavor were evident. The shock of the fatty pork I had at a French restaurant yesterday has been dispelled (lol). The scores on Tabelog are really unreliable. When I asked the man at the checkout how many generations they have been running the place, he said it was the 3rd generation. They have been operating since the post-war period, probably for about 70 years (lol). The taste was truly satisfying. Oh, I've found another tonkatsu place to visit. I'm curious about the "Teppan Meat Grill" and the "Meat Tempura Fillet" on the menu. I'll probably be visiting this place for a while.

The exterior may not be inviting, but the interior is normal. There are only about 8 seats at the counter. Many couples and couples were dining here! The chef runs the place alone, but he is very kind, serving tea multiple times and cooking each dish carefully. I ordered the ginger pork, which was thinly sliced from the loin, a rare style. It was delicious!! ⚠️The smell of oil tends to stick to your clothes. Since the chef runs the place alone and cooks each dish after taking the order, it can get crowded during lunchtime. I did not check the restroom.

I visited the restaurant with my family. Oh my goodness!! It was so delicious!! I ordered the pork cutlet set meal, and I thought, huh? Isn't the batter a bit light in color? But the meat was so flavorful and juicy, it was irresistibly delicious! Eating it with salt was just heavenly, I could ascend just from that. I also ordered a 300 yen pork soup, and it had a gentle flavor with a very delicious broth... I will definitely come back with my friends next time! Thank you for the meal (*^^*)

Upon entering the shop as soon as it opened at 5 p.m., I was greeted by a counter full of Showa-era atmosphere. I ordered the pork cutlet I came for, along with pickles, fresh pickles, and a Kirin beer. As a complimentary dish, I was served simmered kombu and bonito flakes. I haven't had Murasoi from Niijima recently because when grilled, it emits a unique smell that lingers in the air, making it hard to come by. In the past, there used to be bottled Murasoi pickled in oil at ANAFESTA at Haneda Airport, but I haven't seen it lately. The current owner inherited the menu from the previous generation, so it cannot be removed, as the owner explained. The unique umami and flavor overflowed in my mouth with each bite, and when chased with hot Kikumasamune sake, I felt momentarily happy with nostalgia and deliciousness. The owner said that not many people order it, but someone recently ordered it as a side dish for rice, not sake. The freshly pickled fresh pickles, sharpened with a single-edged blade, were crispy and well-marinated, and delicious. The hot sake kept passing through my throat. Well, shall we have the pork cutlet soon? The fillet is also attractive, but of course, we want to enjoy the fat in the pork cutlet. The fine breadcrumbs wrapped in the coating are light and white. Crispy, perfectly cooked, and juicy. You can enjoy it with salt, medium-thick sauce, and mustard paste. It's been a while since I've met a delicious pork cutlet. I usually can't eat fried foods because of the post-meal indigestion and guilt. No need to worry about that with this pork cutlet. Cabbage is also free for refills and gentle on the stomach. The pork miso soup, made-to-order after ordering, is simple with diced lean pork, silken tofu, sliced onions, and trefoil, yet very delicious. The refreshing scent of green yuzu peel enhances the flavor. It seems to take a lot of effort. The broth is effective, and the pork miso soup, which is lighter and more fragrant than usual, is so delicious that I want a refill. I met a delicious and fragrant pork cutlet after a long time.

On May 26, 2023 (Friday) at 11:58, I suddenly felt like eating tonkatsu, so I checked my saved list and found "Tonpei" there. I visited the place, which is located a 2-minute walk from the south exit of JR Uguisudani Station. The interior of the restaurant had a counter with 8 seats. It was lunchtime, with two customers seated at the counter. I ordered the Hirekatsu Rice for ¥1,600 (tax included) with a large serving of rice for an additional ¥100 (tax included), totaling ¥1,700 (tax included). The person taking orders seemed like the son who had taken over the business, carefully preparing the Hirekatsu from cutting the pork fillet. After a 15-minute wait, the Hirekatsu Rice was served. I first tried a bite with salt and thought, "The meat is tender!" "The coating is light and easy to eat, delicious." It seems they fry it slowly at a low temperature. Then I tried it with sauce, thinking, "The slightly thick, sweet sauce goes well with the rice." I finished it in no time. It was delicious! If I had to say something negative, the rice was a bit firm, and the taste itself wasn't particularly great. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the Hirekatsu, so I'm satisfied. Thank you for the meal. White hirekatsu!! This is my first visit. I ordered the hirekatsu rice for 1600 yen and added a pork miso soup for 300 yen!! Oh, it's white!! It's not fried too hot, so it's tender!! Yeah, delicious. It's not surprisingly amazing, but it's tasty. It's a big difference from some similar places, haha. Thank you for the meal. I will come back if I'm near again!!

While visiting a sauna in Uguisudani, I suddenly had a craving for tonkatsu and decided to stop by this place. The atmosphere was local and the owner was friendly. I arrived right when they opened at night, but unfortunately, they had already sold out of the tenderloin cutlet. The quality of the food was decent, and I especially enjoyed being able to customize the flavor with the sauce and salted mustard.

I'm sorry. Until now, I had no idea that there was such a delicious tonkatsu restaurant in Uguisudani Sakashita. This is the first time in my life that I have eaten such delicious pork cutlets. I originally came to eat the loin cutlet because I am a fan of it, but it was sold out. Thanks to that, I was able to order a delicious fillet cutlet rice. I have been to several famous tonkatsu restaurants known for their fillet cutlets, but Tonpei is the most delicious. The owner humbly said that he doesn't use such good meat, but maybe it's the way it is cooked and fried... So far, it is the most delicious fillet cutlet in Japan. Next time, I will come to have a loin cutlet rice and miso soup. It was really delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Arrived on Saturday just after opening at 11:35 am. The place was full so I had to wait outside. They just started making it so it will take some time, is that okay? they politely asked. The seats are divided into four sections at the counter with acrylic boards. Normally one person per section, but if you're a party of two, you can sit together. After waiting for about 30 minutes, a seat opened up and I was seated. I usually eat pork cutlet, but I heard that the pork fillet here is delicious, so I ordered the pork fillet cutlet rice set with miso soup and a beer. Since it's a one-person operation, you have to get the beer yourself from the fridge. They also served kombu tsukudani as a snack. They start cooking after taking your order. They cook each dish carefully one by one. The cutlets are fried at a low temperature. After about 15 minutes, a slightly white-coated pork fillet cutlet was served. They said, "If you need more cabbage, please let us know." You can ask for a refill. The pork fillet cutlet was tender and delicious. It might be the best pork fillet cutlet I've ever had. I want to try the pork loin cutlet next time. The person who came in after me ordered the pork loin cutlet, but they were sold out for the day. They said that sometimes they run out because they can't get fresh meat on Saturdays. The miso soup was average. I'll try the wakame soup next time. Anyway, the cutlet was delicious. The owner's customer service and language were polite, and I had a very pleasant time. It seems like there are a lot of regular customers. This place has many regulars and I think there are a lot of repeat customers. It's worth waiting for a long time to eat here. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a hidden gem tonkatsu restaurant that has low ratings on Tabelog but reviewers are praising it, so I decided to try it out! I ordered the fillet cutlet and it looked delicious. The breading was light and crispy, making it easy to eat. Locals should definitely give it a try! Tonpei 1-2-20 Negishi, Taito-ku, Tokyo I mainly post on TikTok! Please follow me if you'd like!
