In October 2016 in Tokyo, HiraI went out of the south exit of Hirai Station and headed west (right). I entered the izakaya "Sataro" in front of the apartment complex in Hirai 1-chome. I toasted with a shochu highball for ¥350. I enjoyed some light snacks. Some snacks are not prepared, so it's safer to ask the mama-san for recommendations. Had a few drinks, had a few snacks, and it came to just over a thousand yen. They don't seem to like internet reviews much, so I'll keep my comments brief.

Located a little off the station, this place is run by a confident landlady who claims they open at 4 pm, but the actual opening time varies. On this day, they opened at 8 pm. The main seating is at the counter with 5 seats, while the back raised area serves as both seating and storage. They seem to have regular customers. The menu consists of only bottled beer, with a medium bottle priced at 500 yen, probably including tax. Both drinks and food are priced in increments of 50 yen, making calculations easy. The landlady's personality is reflected in the menu, which lacks consistency and features simple dishes like grilled or stir-fried items. Despite this, the low prices are appreciated. According to a companion, the best dish here is the isobe maki for 100 yen. Personally, I think it's isobe yaki, but it's not worth arguing about here. It's been a while since I've had isobe yaki, and it really is delicious! It's perfect as a closer, even though we're not quite done yet. Nearly half of the menu items were sold out, so let's just relax and enjoy! The name of the restaurant is apparently the name of the cat they own.
