This is a soba izakaya near Horikiri Shobuen Station! While they have regular appetizers, it seems like the main focus is on enjoying soba and drinks. I arrived at a tricky time after 3pm, but luckily they were open all day on Saturdays. The exterior looks like a typical izakaya, but inside, the walls are filled with soba menu options. I ordered the Mori Soba to start, and was pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices. The owner was handling everything alone, but the service was quick and efficient. I wanted to try the tempura as well, but decided to add a Mini Tuna Bowl instead. The soba was plentiful and delicious, with a mild and sweet dipping sauce. The Mini Tuna Bowl was excellent, with thinly sliced tuna that seemed to be fresh and flavorful. The quality of the food for the price was outstanding. I will definitely be back to try their udon and tempura next time. This hidden gem offers great value and delicious food. They also accept PayPay.

Today started with soba noodles. The place was already full before 7pm. Had a highball, potato salad, black dragon cold sake, shirasu and grated daikon soba, tofu, Kamo ham, mini ginger pork bowl, and finally a tanuki soba. I asked for the tanuki soba to be made less sweet, and the chef kindly accommodated my request. Thank you, chef! (The Kamo nanban was for my companion)

At night, the Horikiri Ayame Garden is well-equipped with ramen shops, but if you feel like eating soba, you might be at a loss. So, after drinking, I visited this place because I wanted to eat soba. The concept of the restaurant is like a soba izakaya, where you drink and finish with soba. They have a good selection of sake, but for sake lovers, they don't have junmai sake. Still, it's nice to see they have Hanamikura sake. I ordered the tempura soba. I was imagining tempura mainly made of onions, but it was luxurious with plenty of shrimp. The broth is on the sweeter side, so it depends on personal preference and how much you've had to drink. In terms of soba quality, it's hard to be too picky at this hour. Next time, it might be nice to just go for drinks.

Ramen and Chinese food are great, but in this heat, I really want to eat some cool and refreshing soba noodles! I visited the soba restaurant "Kazuhira" and it reminded me of the "Hiyashi Tanuki Soba" that was served. The soba here is different from others, it has an elegant and delicate impression. The pale and thin soba noodles have a fine texture. Despite their appearance, they have a firm bite! I like the strong flavor of country-style soba, but the smooth texture of these soba noodles is irresistible. The balance between the gentle broth, which has a firmly removed soy sauce edge, and the soba noodles that do not interfere with it at all, is truly the work of a craftsman! I'm sure the side dishes are delicious too. I will definitely go back in the evening to try them out!
